My biggest complaint with the toy based on pictures is the placement of the connectors on the arms. I wish the connectors on Vortex and Blast Off would have been slightly lower allowing some of their kibble to stick up above his shoulders. I think that would make him look "bigger" and a little stronger. In my opinion, the way they connect now makes him look very skinny and weak at the shoulder. It looks more like a wrist.

I think it was necessary to do what they did to allow for the scramble gimmick.

It could also be a mistransformation. You know those crazy photographers over at HasTak.

Oh that's always a possibility till we can get it in-hand. But we gotta remember, that joint would become the knee when Vortex and/or Blast-Off becomes Bruticus' legs. Would kinda look weird if the joints were further down the leg.

Though it's not unheard of that TFs have really low knees. PCC Smolder, for instance.

Not liking the karate-chop hand on Vortex.

I'll refrain from making any further comments on Bruticus. Given the Hasbro photographers' uncanny ability to mis-transform and make even decent figs look bad, I'll give this toy the benefit of the doubt until it gets a review.

Still, Bruticus looks decent enough, considering that it's being manufactured at a time when most of the TF lines are shrinking and getting overly simple with cheating transformations.

I want it simply for the fact that I want 5 Deluxes to combine into a giant robot, and for a Neo-G1 Combaticon set.

A nice improvement on the hand, but Brawl looks awful as an arm. Hopefully, it's another mistransformation snafu on the part of the photographer.

Then switch Vortex out for Swindle, leave Brawl as a leg? There's lots of possibilities. Not to mention, you might like other configurations once you get it in-hand.

That would be amazing. Though I'd be happy with just a few "extra" new limb/core molds; "axillary" Combaticons/Wreckers.

I guess I'll be doing just that. Pretty much decided to get Bruticus. He'll be my first ever combiner.

Anyone tried to see if Brawl or Swindle can fit in the bed of the HFTD Seaspray mold's hovercraft form yet?

i was looking forward to the release of this, but im sorry Pic after pic, he just looks like a POS. Like he fell down the steps of the short bus on the way to some cybertronian school for the special needs. Im sorry if i sounded offensive but it is just an opinion.

His hands are tiny and crappy

Image

no matter how you arrange the limbs, brutishit looks like his shoulders are pooping out arms that look like slugs. He can scratch his shins without bending over.

It looks like to whole FOC line has been halfassed honestly.
60-100 bucks for this? ive seen complaints about buying 3rd party combiners for 200-500+, i understand not everyone wants to pay that price, but i wouldnt pay 100 bucks for a crappy combiner that looks like its a happy meal special.

you might as well put this inspector gadget on display next to bruti

Actually, I'd much rather the Inspector. If you have Dr. Claw laying around anywhere let me know ;)

I'll take that as a no.

Sigh. The retail Bruticus can't come out fast enough.
