FansProject CA-02 Stombomb video review

Postby baltmatrix » Tue Sep 06, 2011 10:02 pm

FansProject bring the TF community yet another great figure. This figure comes packaged with a set of small scythes, the horn and a chain. Overall the figure is great but I prefer the robot mode over the bug mode simply because the bug mode (1) feels much too small and (2) the horn is WAY to big.

I got this lil guy sittin in my POL and he's gonna be there for awhile( waiting for The Deus Ex figures!!!) but it is nice to see a video review for him. The only gripe I have about them is the shade of purple they went with, I wish it was a Tad bit darker. Thundershread is a neat lil figure though and it looks like stormbomb will be too!

Thanks EL D!

Lo! And behold: A new name for this not-Insecticon: Stombomb. Stormbomb was too many letters to fit. :P
Aside from being a smart-ass I'm looking forward to getting this piece.

Lol. Yeah, someone must've been really excited when they were typing out the title of this thread. They loused up the Causality number as well.

Has anyone beeable to determine whether the CA-03 blades that come with Stormbomb are redesigned or just replacements?

:BANG_HEAD: Fixed on the frontpage, thanks for pointing it out. That's why I normally always retype the titles rather than just going with whats there. Oh well, just glad baltmatrix posted it here :D

My original blades were a little loose at the mid joint and a little tight in the base mount (the purple bit that attaches to the arm).

The new ones are much firmer at the mid point and seem to fit snugly, not too tightly, in the base mount. I'm happy with the replacements.

One weird thing that is consistent between both blade sets for me is that it appears that I have 3 rights and 1 left, so to speak, in the base half of the blade. If you have the figure, you may know what I'm talking about. There's a cutout on one side versus the other side where the end part of the blade slides into the base part of the blade. I got the exact same result in the new set. If anybody wants to know what I'm talking about, I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them here.

Yeah, the typing fail was completely my fault. Sorry about that guys. I was trying to get the review done and up with my wife yelling at me at the same time. Pro tip: Don't post while arguing with your spouse. It won't end well for anyone.

purple never seems to show up right in videos. he had his thundershred in the same shot as stormbomb and they had the same light looking shade, but i have my thundershred next to me and it looks much richer. same thing occurs with reviews of exgraver, his purple ends up looking blue on camera. id say dont worry about it, it will come out fine
