Just looks a little too complex for his design style.

I hear it's been a full DECADE since that was made. One hopes he improved in all that time. It'd be pretty pathetic if he hadn't.

Edit: Correction: it's been seven years since that image popped up. Still, that's a LOT of time to improve a skill.

Have you seen his Scavenger render he released last year ?

I think it's business as usual at Jizai Toys. It's a good thing we have X-Transbots to add a few extra ball joints and reduce the price.

I have spoken with the creator of Jizai Toys a few times. Most of his creations start off using styrine and pins (which is why you don't see ball joints on his webpage). He had been doing it for a while and has many original designs. It wouldn't surprise me if he joined up with FansProject to help them figure out the transformations and engineering. That's his speciality and it would seem like the perfect fit.

Am I the only one that don't like code/chromedome? I think I'm going to sell him. Brainstorm on the other hand looks sick... really hope he has his briefcase... but since this is a homage to G1 and not MTMTE it probably wont. =/

Code is popular. You can probably get a good price for him right now.

The figure looks fantastic, and with Brainstorm being the only Autobot Headmaster I owned I'm really looking forward to this update.

The only thing that really bugs me about this figure (and ToyWorld's Hardbone) is we're getting figures whose gimmick is a detachable head. I wish the producers would find it in their hearts to give us the minor selection of different faced heads. The animation/toy divide was hard enough to contend with, but with the Headmasters we've got the Pacific divide to deal with too.

Mouthplates for Brainstorms everywhere!!!! :PEACE:

Well done Arctorro. I wasn't fully grasping the Smart Robin thing either. But it is an anagram. Brilliant deduction good sir.

So they mixed the letters huh ? Quadruple U was cool, but Im not feeling this style of naming (anagrams) If it was up to me, just let Toyworld come up with all the names for the other companies. ;)

Personally, I like what was suggested in the other thread. Of course, I heard immediately in my head: "But, you may call me.....Tim"

However, that might get people confused with Skullgrin

I had to bring this lost thread back to the top for comparison purposes to the new Toyworld prototype. I swear I never noticed the mouth on this version. I much prefer the faceplate.

Not that kind of comparison. I meant that this thread had gotten lost in the pages of old stuff, so I commented on it to bring it back to the current threads so people wouldnt have to search for it. Maybe someone with photoshop skills can put them together in one picture using Code and Hardbone's heights for scale purposes. Any takers ?

Because I wanted to see them side by side:

From the ToyWorld updates thread (and earlier in this thread):

Personally, I like the detailing on the FP offering. Yet, these are just prototypes. I'll keep an eye out on both of them.

I like both offerings, but will note that I like the face plate and wings on TW's version. Still too early to make comparisons as we only have limited views of each.

I'm leaning towards FPs because of the detailing, and already having Code, as well as the price difference between the first TW and FP headmasters. Really do like the TW head. That's much better seeing them together.

Said it in the TW thread but it makes sense to mention it here: It'd be really nice if FP did an upgrade set for their Function X line, with recoloured heads with the alternate faceplates. Stylor stands out as being quite noticeably a different piece than the main Code figure and now Brainstorm will have a mouth instead of the faceplate I always thought of him with.

I think both have similar amounts of detailing. But you bring up a good point about pricing - $30 more for the TW one (even though it will be larger than the FP one) becomes a factor. I still haven't picked up Hardbone because of the price.

I also like your idea for selling alternate heads down the line, would help people customize a bit more to their tastes and hopefully give FP extra sales.
