What? that HFTD Minwipe looks nothing like 1987 Mindwipe. There isn't a single homage in the sculpt on HFTD Mindwipe that is even remotely a nod towards the 1987 toy.

This HFTD Mindwipe literally looks like Hasbro just slapped any old school name on it.

Clearly you haven't seen some of the "bat modes" fans have come up with. The way the wings are set in bot mode is an obvious homage to the G1 character and toy.

That's an awesome bat mode. But because of the robot mode it can never really fit in too well with classics figures. But I might try this transformation with my blue G2 version of the mold once I get hold of the IDW Dreadwing for my G2 shelf.

Movie Mindwipe is okay, but not that appealing. FP's one is quite interesting. Modern enough but with plenty of classic styling. looks pretty fancy too. Not preordering til I at least see coloured pics though.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

At 3rd party prices, I'm not willing to be a completist. Desire to spend my money on other things besides plastic toys. These regular Headmasters don't rate high on my update wish list. I'm willing to wait and buy those HasTak updated headmasters generations toys for a fraction of the price.

Walmart Uiverse 2.0 Hardhead, ROTF Mindwipe, 30th Nightbeat Meet my standards for updates.

Hmmm...Mindwipe's alt mode is not what I was expecting. The alt mode head is large, there are oversized claws on his shoulders, and bird legs. #-o

I want to see more pics.

True, Highbrow is really the only autobot headmaster I'm interested to see from FP. PE did a fine job with Warden.

Sorry, forgive my manners, I need to copy your Ten rules pamplet in order to budget my money better.

I've been spending my money too selfishly on the Wife, kids, Groceries, private schools, Mortage, bills, clothes, cars, saving for the kids colleges.

Guess i'll give all this up just so I can brag on the forums. That I own a house full of toys instead.

If the claws on the alt mode shoulders can fold down so they are not protruding, then I will be happy.

A lot of MP SoundBlaster boxes on the side. It was inevitable that the figure would go down in price.

Yeah, the claws should be at the top of the wings (around midpoint of the entire wing) rather than at the shoulder.
Image

It doesn't appear that those claws are part of hands or feet unless I'm missing something. It's a curious detail to be so prominent and yet look so off. Other than that, I love the figure. Let's get it in, FP! (Unless you want to solve the claw issue...) Image

The claws ARE his botmode's hands (You might need to squint a bit, but the black spiky bits= bottom of lower arm/elbow, whitebits= wrists)

Exactly - the rest of the body looks so right because the claws look so off. But it's a compromise I'm willing to live with because the bot mode looks fantastic.

Yeah,. I think I can see it now. I think I was thrown off because in alt mode there looks to be three claws and the bot hands have 4 fingers and a thumb. If I'm seeing it right.

Otherwise the wings are actually quite accurate to a bat's wings, with fingers making up the ribs. I've just seen other transformers incorporate the claws into the middle of the wing, particularly the pteranodon types.

But, I think I can more than live with it. I think my Movie Mindwipe might become Hellbat. Even has a breastformer.

:BANG_HEAD: Think you've got way to much, OCD ,going on within in this hobby and this latest entry is further proof of this. In case you haven't noticed the Bat mode for this toy is not based off a BW styled 1996-1997 real life Organic beast mode. The toy here has a Robotic mechanical looking bat mode. Nothing needs to line up or look like the real deal organic bat,Liberties in mechanical looking beast modes are expected. FP Weirdwolf has a Sword for a beast tail and this didn't phase or upset you, Yet wrongly placed bat claws does? :BANG_HEAD: :HEADHURTS:

I think you may have too much vendetta against X to actually misinterpret his point? He pretty much made it obvious that the odd claw placement doesn't bother him at all. Chill out.

Also, it's supposed to be an update version of G1 Mindwipe, which is also a robotic mechanical bat  Image
They can just hide the bot hands and add little claws onto the wings, because the exposed bot hands does look abit weird, at least to me. Weirdwolf's tail gets a pass obviously because it's in the right place to begin with.

Meh....i don't know. I thought it would have been better. It just gives off that suspend disbelief vibe in alt mode. They coulda done better if you ask me.
I was hoping for something a little more horrific if not at least streamlined in alt mode.Plus that bat head is almost laughable. Like Disney made it or something.
It's a pass. Looks good in bot mode though.
