Maybe it's a unpainted prototype..releax about the colors..

While we pretty much knew who the new Warbot was meant to be there hasn't been anything to suggest it's still even in the works. We don't know who CA-06 & -07 are going to be, but yeah, it's a safe bet they're not going to be Magnus. And these several pages of comments prove no one really knows which Transformer (if any) Heartmaster is meant to be. I don't want it to be Magnus, but what we want does not dictate what FansProject produces.

You're wrong. I love my City Commander and have no interest in getting rid of it ever, so I don't give a damn about its market value. I'd hardly call re-releasing City Commander with some extra accessories doing Magnus "multiple times". Classic Ultra Magnus is up there with Classics Cliffjumper and Skywarp as the least produced Classics figures. There are still cries from collectors for Hasbro to release Skywarp in the Generations line, and since his Classics version was a two-pack with Magnus, it stands to reason that there may be demand for more of him too. A new Ultra Magnus homage could fill any gaps in fans' collections, and yet would be different enough for everyone to be OK picking one up. I remember fans were bouncing around with joy when CHMS (correct me if I got the name wrong) announced their voyager sized MasterPiece/Classics Ultra Magnus and that was a darn sight similar to City Commander. If FansProject were to repaint HeartMaster in Optimus colours, I'd be all over it as my PowerMaster/Rolling Thunder homage.

Two Micromaster homages that were just repaints of their existing Classics style figures. They probably did it so that those people who didn't want or couldn't get Universe Bruticus Maximus could still get hold of those awesome little figures, and I thank them for that.

It's blatantly not Causality. Have you been at the water you say the guys at TFW have been drinking?

To reiterate, I don't want it to be Magnus. We don't know enough about this figure to say for certain who it is. All we know is it's a humanoid transforming figure who turns into an armoured truck, has a PowerMaster-like partner, looks like it has room and the connector for a trailer, and there's a version that's painted blue and white. You may not like it, hell I'm not sure I like it, but those factors combined do seem (for now at least) to point to Bendimus Prime's Energon Ultra Magnus theory.

Guys, I really don't want to be egging this on.... but as dumb as I think a magnus would be... there is some speculation that CC armor will fit this guy. Lame? Perhaps. But the poermaster Prime repaint (complete with Hi-q) and subsequent repaints woul make sense. I HOPE IT"S NOT. Lord knows I hope it's not... but....

I'd be down for a new version of Energon Ultra Magnus. But I kinda doubt that's what it is.

So you have seen the photoshop'd comparisons? I hope it's not. TRULY. I was getting my hopes up that it was some unknown Powermaster character of FP's own creation. Time will tell...

I considered that too, but if you look at the pic again it is clearly painted (the red stripes, the black grill at the rear, the silver at the front, the fact that the cockpit is moulded from clear plastic so the white may well be painted on).



Anyway, I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned more often (or at all) but personally, I see way, way more similarities with this figure, in both vehicle and robot modes.





Here are the similarities I see:
- colours match
- both have a cockpit
- the three pipes on the same spot in vehicle mode
- heck, the general shape of the vehicle matches
- the general proportions of the robot mode match (particularly the arms, legs, and the narrow waist)
- the front "bumper/grill" of the vehicle matches
- the robot modes both have a fake G1 Prime-style abdomen-grill

Here are the dissimilarities I see:
- Heartmaster mini figure
- Shoulder missiles

And I think FP are more than welcome to throw in the heartmaster as something new (like the new version of Roller for Rodimus Prime). It could be a bit of a tribute to Ginrai (when we get the inevitable Optimus repaint).

Edit: After looking at the Energon Ultra Magnus pics, I think the mini-figure and the shoulder missiles could be nods to the Energon figure, while the rest of the design is a homage to War Within.

So does anyone else see the resemblance, or am I sounding a little loopy right now? Do I win a prize if I get this right?

I totally see it. I do. Excellent points on the side of your argument. I guess if it's ANY Magnus, I'm going to be a little disappointed. My CC is plenty, lets move on, IMO.
