FansProject - Insider update

FYI:

According to Venksta

Casualty Line will go on within the next year or so from CA-06 through CA-12, if things go as planned. Four figures from the line will be part of a combiner. There are also plans for Crossfire, and will also have additional figures for the Warbot line.

==================================

Speculation ---
As it is, we have rumors of the FP Menasor Project, which will most likely have the four figures from the CA line, and then possibly Motormaster in the Warbot line (speculation). And since there are still plans for Crossfire, the trailer for not-Motormaster would likely end up here.

Let's hope this is their often rumored Menasor! Hes the last of the Decepticon combiners and the last of the original G1 combiners that have never seen a decent update. I've been holding out on ANY Stunticon figures in the hopes that we'd get a combiner one day - officially or not.

Thanks for the update. Hey, quick question. Do you know when you will be getting in the new Deep Covers? I'm looking forward to the hopefully better molded version.

Yeah, I feel ya. I kinda don't want to buy the Club's upcoming G1 Breakdown if we can get a better representation with FP's stunticons.

I focus a lot on Seasons 1-2 :P Excitement makes me mistype!

fair enough, I'm quite keen to see a new Menasor myself. Especially if they design it so MP Frumblzy can "steal" Dragstrip!

Menasor would be epic to finally get done right. But a trailor for Motormaster would be a seperate thing? Making MM a cab only like papa Op?

The only saving grace to me as a toy with the original MM was his colorscheme and the fact that he WASN'T an Optimus clone......this way he pretty much will be. Hope I'm wrong there, and yes I get that keeping MM in scale with scout sized Stuntis pretty much rules out a combined trailer/cab design but even so......

I'm intrigued by the possible cross-polination of a Stunticon project between FP's different lines, but whatever it takes to get a "Classics Menasor" in our hands.

Seeing Steel Core, Assaulter, and hoping for Stunticons, I no longer hope for the "Dark Springer" (Warbot). I'm glad FP is back on track, and anxious to get more details about these projects.

Not OP, but more like a City Commander type.

The not-Motormaster figure relates to speculation of how it can be released. I've updated the first post to show where Venksta has stopped. The rest are speculation.

Sadly, I'd probably pass on a FP Menasor/Stunticons simply because I've put so much time and money into acquiring and/or customizing my Classics Stunticons. So much love went into my Breakdown that even the TFCC one isn't going on the shelves.

Dont forget, Predaking, Abominus, and Piranacon. Well we need better Stunticons. And after seeing FOC Bruticus, I think it would be better if Hasbro left combiners to the experts.

From Venksta:

Before anyone gets too excited (I guess its too late), remember, Fansproject is not the main focus for the group members in their daily lives. Unlike other groups, FansProject is very patient, and they don't see a need to announce things a year ahead, when they first begin work on a project. All the items coming out next have been in the works for a minimum of 18 months at least. Steel Core was probably started at least 2 years ago. I first saw the prototype back in January 2011. It would of taken a minimum of 6 months to get to that prototype stage.

Just because they just showed Assaulter's artwork recently, doesn't mean their just starting off in the drawing stages.

As for the upcoming releases, thats all stuff you guys would of known based on leaks and what not over the year. Members here have known Menasor was the next combiner, as some where shown photos at Botcon 2011. Based off that, you'd come to the conclusion that is 5 figures at the minimum, if FP release each individually. Plus, the teaser for Crossfire 3. Teasers shown at TFCon 2009. Everything adds up. Most of what I've mentioned today is not really news, unless you don't follow FP as others do. :)

As for the pricing, remember not all the 3rd party groups have the same production run of units as others. Fansproject is popular, so they can sometimes do a bit larger of a run and help keep end cost down. As well, there are other costs involved for productions, or suprise costs a group encounters, that fans don't know about, and a group has to factor it in or their product might not get released at all.

So looking forward to the upcoming releases from FP.

Edited per Venksta. ;)

You really don't read entire threads before replying, do you?

I suppose that's true. Just gotta be patient. I suppose that's one downside to Fansprojects. It takes a long, long time to see something from them.

Argh! The teasing hurts so bad! :BOOM: I'd love some FansProject Stunticons. Even if Menasor turns out to be the same size as Giant and Colossus I think it would work with Hercules too as TFC's Constructicons resemble the huge construction vehicles you'd find in a quarry.

I can't wait to find out what else FP have in the works. In January 2011...

WB-002
CA-06
CA-07
Crossfire-03
(Audacity) Amelioration of Novel form, HeartMaster — HM-001
and much more….

Well HeartMaster is now WB-002 so is there any more HeartMasters planned and did '(Audacity) Amelioration of Novel form' refer to something else? I really want to know.

Yep, I can already hear TFC knocking on the door. They seem intent on doing pretty much all of the G1 combiners it seems (concepts for Computron and Abominus have already been seen and they're obviously doing Superion). Considering the fact that Superion and Menasor are somewhat arch enemies, I suspect they'll jump on the Stunticons even if FP does their own, but maybe I'm wrong on that. But you can bet they probably will do one if FP doesn't get their own out soon enough.

I can see TFC keeping the size of their Gestalts the same as Hercules instead of trying to downsize a bit. However, as much as I would love to get new versions of all the combiner teams, I'm happy with 1 or 2 a year. Hercules was really a one-off for me at that price range, I really don't want to think about sustaining $100/pop every time.

I think you misread the response by xyl360. The TFC reference is about getting it out or having a similar Gestalt out before FP does. It's not a reference about size.

SU&TM$ :ic$:

I am fully down for a FP Menasor and at this point only a FP Menasor! I will still be joining the TFCC subscription club and getting their Breakdown (to go with my HTS Dragstrip) but this needs to happen. Poor little Superion, now there's going to be two bid bad combiners to hold him down while the third just wales on him! He's going to need some backup too eventually. I just hope they use a design similar to the one in the Ongoing for Motormaster.

Oh god, for a moment there I thought you would use the R word.

I like this news, hopefully everything will be available through normal stores as well and not just the Core with the insane shipping rate.

So you guys over here at Seibertron have had no idea that FP were working on a Menasor? A FP member, who was at BotCon 2011, showed a bunch of people photos of various designs prototypes for their Menasor combiner.

It's funny that we see that post... It's been stated on the OP, that FP is coming out with not-Menasor. Anyway, thanks for your help Venksta! Appreciate it much.
