its an alien robot dinosaur. dissecting it that closely seems ridiculously anal.
The Dinobots were modeled after creatures that lived on Earth, not Cybertron. I hate that stupid video game. It slaughtered the fiction just to squeeze popular characters into an era they didn’t belong to. I’m surprised they didn’t throw in a couple beast Wars characters into FOC too.
You do know War for/Fall of Cybertron aren't part of the G1 continuity, right? They aren't "slaughtering" any fiction- it's an original continuity and thus not constrained by previous Transformers series (including G1).
Though it has enough throw backs and writer's contrivances that it
can "fit" into the G1 continuity. In the game, Shockwave visits or somehow monitors prehistoric earth and is fascinated by the creatures there, particularly their power and endurance. (At least that's how I interpreted the events in the game.) I liked that aspect of the fiction.
Not everybody has to like that approach. It's one of the great things I love about this hobby and universe (and one of the things I personally hated about Hasbro's attempts at unifying the fiction with whatever that was called, "Aligned" or something? Can't we all use our own imagination instead of having to conform? At least that seemed to be the message from Hasbro on Aligned. Perhaps I am reading it wrong.) We each can have our own personal cannon.
I was going to say something more on complaining about toys created for some of that fiction that exists, but I realize several of us have become repetitive with those statements, and no matter how logical, they are not getting through. I think I'll take NOS's advice...

(I answer to Ag or Ags. Agamemnon is too long to type. Plus, there is something elemental about calling me Ag.
