Yea, I dunno if these guys will ever be transformed to bot mode. Though I would like a second set to keep in vehicle mode... they look so nice!
I don't need (or want) a second set of these guys, but where some other teams are concerned, it is a nice fantasy.
That's all it is: a fantasy. As it is, I'm selling off my classics doubles, and perhaps all of my Movie/Prime toys, to fund my MP obsession. #-o
I really should be selling off my 2007 movie figures (they turned me off the other movie lines) and the Classics I've replaced with 3P stuff, but I'm slack and it just seems like to much work :P

That would make the cost of MM easier to swallow ;)

Some have complained about the gaps in the elbow area of the combined gestalt. Using the knees of the arm bots has been used a lot, but have usually been better hidden. FP's Superion add-on only used one leg and one knee. FP's Bruticus add-on and unique figures seemed to over this area more. TFC Superion uses the same technique, but it is pretty well obscured with kibble. There was a pic, I think at a show, where a lighter background really emphasized the gap. Several here expressed their displeasure. This image shows it a little more than the most recent images:

Image
Image

I'm not crazy about the gap, but I haven't expressed as negative a feeling about the gap as others. Rated X, are you about? I think you were one who despised the look, right?

[Edit] Issue with image. If others cannot see it, I'll upload to my imageshack account and repost.

[Edit2] Found another location for the image. Should be viewable now. Plus, added one of the rear from a previous post in this thread.

You mean the kibble in bot mode, right? The gestalt has a backpack, but is pleasantly kibble free.

I re-watched The Key to Vector Sigma parts 1 & 2 yesterday, just to reacquaint myself with the Stunticons :P

Diesel isn't spot on, but he's definitely close enough for my purposes, and at least the kibble can be construed as heavy weaponry (a la MakeToys' Battle Tanker, though I think Diesel's is more tastefully done).

Also, right here is why this is a gestalt I would like more than 1 copy of.

Unlike most of the other gestalts we've gotten so far (i.e. Devastator, Predaking, Superion), each individual bot in Menasor has a distinct enough color scheme to not totally blend in with one another. Plus, Motor Master's size difference means you can have a nice, tight display of MM behind the other 4 bots; they don't all have to be shoulder to shoulder.

I'm very quickly talking myself into doing something I have no money to do. :BANG_HEAD:

Most of it should be able to come off. Looks like he may be stuck with a backpack and the gestalt connectors on the shoulders, but otherwise he looks OK:

Yup. The argument is that newer gestalts, particularly TFC's Superion, have done a lot to hide these elbow gaps. Some were okay with it a number of years ago with FP Bruticus as the technology and engineering in gestalts was still very new in 3rd Parties. (I know I was excited just to see the improvements to Superion and Bruticus with the FP add-ons.) Some have made the argument that the expectations have risen a lot due to not only the newly released gestalts like Superion, but those on their way out where we have seen prototypes, like the various Predakings, Computron, and probably another one I can't think of right now. The newer gestalts still use the legs as elbows, but appear to hide the gaps better.

Personally, I'm not bugged by it that much. Maybe it's because I'm just jacked that we're finally getting a Menasor! My opinion may change when I get it in hand.

I've been finding myself wondering what G1-styled Optimus might scale well with Motormaster for such things myself... I mean, these Stunticons are going to be a part of my Classics collection, so theoretically he'd pair off with Classics Prime (who in my case had the Fansproject trailer), and I'd guess that would match the size difference the G1 toys had with one another! But it wouldn't be good for recreating things such as the above.

What Prime (preferably with trailer) would match best size-wise in truck mode? I'd guess Hybrid Optimus Prime, but he is a small figure... Maybe too small for this? Anyone here who has any of the other Stunticons in hand, and also has Hybrid Optimus Prime? (I've been waiting to ship my Stuticons until they're all in stock.) Would his truck seem similar in size in comparison to the Stunticon cars as to what we have seen in photos of Motormaster?

I have no problem with their elbow joints. For me it's a good use of existing parts and joints already. It almost adds a level of 'realism' to the combiner.

It's a great use of existing parts, but they could have designed the gap out, or added parts to the MM trailer to close them up. That would have been nice, and probably doable.

I'm definitely not a fan of the gaps, but that hasn't stopped me from committing to Intimidator. Not in the slightest. A dynamic, elbow bending pose will pretty much hide the issue (as with Colossus), but it's still an annoyance.

Agreed. If the options are elbow joints with gaps, or no gaps and no elbow joints, I'll take gaps any day of the week. Hell, the Scramble City gestalts had the gaps AND no elbow joint. :P

I'm loving Diesel. He's perfect for the Classics collection. Given his size and the amount of accessories that come with him, the price compared to those of the four cars is pretty reasonable. Yes there's a lot of kibble, but at least it's put to good use. Thank god Gundam has acclimatised me to overly weaponized robots.

Bring it on, FansProject.

Yeah, but that'd be a G2 Prime, not a G1 Prime as would be necessary to recreate things like the screenshot that Banjo-Tron posted. (Nothing against RTS Prime with Battle Tanker... Great figure! But not correct for this.)

Hmm... While he still looks somewhat bigger then Motormaster, Voyager Prime could be closer in size then I'd suspected he would be. A bit hard to tell, as Agamemnon's photos are from straight-on, where as the FansProject promo shots Daimchoc shared were from angles.

Agamemnon, you kept saying Deluxe Prime, but pictured a Voyager Classics (Nemesis) Prime. Was that an error on your part? Or did you just mean that those were the photos you had, but you thought Motormaster would scale well with this figure? He may indeed scale well with the Classics Deluxe Prime, but since Motormater has a trailer, he needs to be paired off against an Optimus who has one, too.

Still, Motormaster is going to be a big truck! I wonder how he will compare with Voyager Classic Prime in robot mode? Even with a good chunk of his trailer becoming weapons and/or back kibble, that is still a robot whose truck cab becomes his legs compared with a robot made entirely from a truck cab...
