I use a custom Energon Shockblast. Once you replace the derpy satellite arm with something sensible and repaint it purple, it is a really great figure.

Also, TF Prime Shockwave, especially the Takara version, makes a decent Classics version.

Do you have a picture? would love to see it.

I agree there are plenty of good stand-ins but they're still stand-ins. I even use the FOC one for a short while but since Dark Cybertron he goes perfect with the IDW comic figures.

that is pretty shocking actually (no pun intended).

i too am on the fence about this. not because of price or quality as i heed the abundance of reviews out there, but because i really have a problem with 3rd party MP's (specifically, as i have no problems with 3rd parties in general).

the official MP line has been home run after home run, and i can wait for hastak to make everything even if it takes years (and it will). but when you hear things like "they will literally never make him" thats the only time when ill consider 3rd parties for MP's.

but even then its just rumors and speculation. as luck would have it, the moment i decide to bite will probably be the moment hes no longer available.

I was in the same place too while deciding rather or not to get quakewave, because once Takara makes one I will be selling this so fast. It is an amazing figure but I believe Takara can make it better. For one thing Quakewave has no gun Trigger (hahaha only thing I can think of) Don't believe the rumors speculations Takara will make whatever they want! And I believe they will eventually... but when? who knows and having Quakeave bwt now and the time Takara decides to make their own is Worth every penny.
That's why I finally jumped on board with Quakewave.

That's why I put in my response that you'll never feel like you just gave in and settled for something (Quakewave) that will eventually be replaced.

Also, remember when "they will never make a Volkswagen Bug Bumblebee"...? Well, looks like "they" are finally getting around to it. For now, speculation and rumor. So my advice is to just go get that Quakewave!

There are a few on eBay that are hovering over $200, but yeah I just checked most sites I know of and the ONLY trace is the Edbomber exclusive Shackwave version:

http://www.toydojo.com/fans-toys-ft-03-toy-dojo-edbombertoys-exclusive-gray-quake-wave/

Since there were 3 production runs of Quakewave... not sure there's a chance of getting a 4th any time soon (if at all). Best of luck in a continued search.

I live in the UK and found some on ebay for £155.36 which i'm very happy about as Kapow was sellling him for £135 so it only an extra 20 quid :D

I'm not sure if it comes with the extra arm or hands but i just checked kapow and they stii have some instock for 4.79

Did anybody swap out the arm i'm not sure if i want to loose the electronics , also i was looking at some videos for the solid color hands and i personally like the translucent purple , the solid hand just doesn't look right to me .

AFAIK, no further news on that item. I'm sure they have been busy with the change in priority of their Dinobot releases. I'm also onboard for a voyager release of Quakewave (and even their ditched MP Soundwave, if they ever revisit that project).

I would be really happy if they downsized Acoustic Wave & Quake Wave to voyagers. I'd snap them up in a heartbeat.

That's a difficult argument to validate considering Quakewave is sold out everywhere. That means that they made all the money they wanted to out of him and I'd be willing to bet they could make a lot more if they did another run of him.

That's not to say that people wouldn't buy a Voyager sized version for their Classics shelves, because I believe they would, but to say they'd make 'more' money than releasing an MP as they did would be a lot easier to swallow if the MP was still actually available for purchase from any of the retailers that carried him.

I don't know if they would have made more $$$ or not, they seem to have sold through several production runs, but I would have also bought one in Voyager size.

I say that because theres a large number of MP collectors who only buy official releases. Quakewave was a good seller I admit, but the masses dont seem to be jumping on other 3rd party MP figures like warbotron or citizen stacks. And alot of people said they would have bought them if they were scaled with classics.

true but citizen stacks and warobtron is not on quakewave's level.
citizen stacks doesnt even scale with MPs in bot mode. its a different story. warbotron and citizen stacks deff would get my money in classics scale.

Quakewave is a toy I can highly recommend. It's on the list of the better released non-combiners 3rd party TF toys released.

If your looking for a good Shockwave toy that transforms into a non gun mode. Most of the HasTak newer toys are epic fail. I suggest just buying the MMC HOS Shockwave toy.

It's not so much a "scale' thing as much as he just wants any new versions of 1980's characters to match the size of the 1980's toys.

At least I am not acting delusional by claiming Classics, Generations has a set correct scale for all it toy characters in the line. Because as most can clearly see, It does not. barely anything in this line matches the 1980's cartoon or toy scale from that time period.

HasTak was not trying its hardest to please veteran fans toy scaled whims. HasTak created some wrong scaled toys on purpose because they figures they could maximize more profits from kids buyers.

A small list of Examples to prove this are. 2.0 Powerglide being vastly more huge in both modes compared to 2.0 Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge. 2.0 Onslaught getting the bigger 2.0 Ultra toys while Galvatron got a tiny Deluxe toy. Lets not forget Thunderwing and Starscream getting deluxe toys,While 2.0 Silverbolt got the Ultra toy. 1.0 Grimlock getting a deluxe toy.
