Favorite Megaman game

Hey guys (and gals), I just took a break from Megaman 8 (almost to the end), and thought I'd find out what other people thought about the series. If you have any questions about Megaman, or don't know anything about it at ALL, feel free to ask. I also obviously would like to know your favorite game in the series (ANY series of the games), favorite character, favorite boss, etc.
My favorite game is probably Megaman X4, and my favorite character is Zero (I also like Megaman 10, and Protoman). My favorite boss is probably Storm Eagle from X1.

So now that you've heard my opinion, I'd like to hear yours.
Thanks, Praxus

Tough call. I mean really touch call. But If I had to choose, it would either be Mega Man X or Mega Man 2. X just for the very well-presented reality and classic gameplay; MM2 simply because it did everything right.

I know what you mean. I sat here for about 10 minutes trying to decide.

I like something about all of the Mega Man games that I've played(1-9, X-X8), and I prefer the original series. It's mostly about the atmosphere, and the over the top "Insert verb here"-Man. The X series is cool too, and the upgrade armor is good stuff.

However, if I had to pick, I'd say MM VII is my fave game in the series. It's got a halfway decent story, Bass, good graphics, and a few secrets. Plus, the Rush Jet Armor makes it's triumphant return from MM VI. The only downside is that Wily's final form can be a tad frustrating.

Following that, I gotta admit that MM X is most definitely a polished game, and if it wasn't for my partiality to the original series, it would probably be #1.

Unfortuneately, after X3 we get a major decline in quality for the X series. X4 is ok, but it never really reaches the same level of quality the SNES titles gave us. X5 was too easy and boring, X6 had frustratingly cheap deaths and uneven diffuculty, and X7 just...doesn't work.

X8 though, that's where things shot up, cause it's awsome! I've only played through it once, so I'm not going to put it on my list as a favorite, not yet anyway.

Mega Man V for the GameBoy. It's the only one for the GameBoy not based on an NES version. Besides, it kept me entertained on many long car rides.

Runner up is Mega Man 8. Beautiful graphics. Anime cut sequences. Awful voice acting (gotta love the Blue Bomber's shrill voice). So many reasons to love this game.

Megaman X all the way. I.ve enjoyed the rest of the series, but I always come back to X (even the psp incarnaton.) Megaman 2 comes in a close second.

I have the Megaman collection with the first 8 games and have not played any of the other games. As for the first 8 go, I would have to say that 2 and 7 are my favorite of them.

Bass was finally released for Megaman 10 yesterday, and I bought him as soon as I could. For those of you who are interested, he can dash, shoot four rapid fire shots, combine with Treble, and shoot in any direction. Okay... sounds cool right? Well... that's not all I have to say. His shots can't pass through walls like Megaman and Protoman's, he only has 1/2 the firepower of Megaman, and Treble's energy bar decreases VERY rapidly. Overall, I'm glad I bought him, and he's fun to play with, but I think I'll just stick with Protoman for a while.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Praxus

I know it's a deviation from the actual games but I loved playing Megaman Starforce. Gameplay was fun and it was very enjoyable.

Spkeaking of Maverick Hunter X, I bought the game... Monday I believe, and just beat the X story this afternoon. I really liked The Day of Sigma, and I think it would make a great beginning to an EXCELLENT TV series. I also enjoy playing as Vile, even though it's alot more challenging

After some deep thought, I think I've changed my mind. My favorite game is Megaman 3 (X3 for the x series) and my favorite boss is Gemini Man. I have a ton of megaman music (original versions, remixes, and more) on my laptop and I just can't seem to get enough. Best game music ever!

I swear, I played that game over and over(and over...)again.

I think I would still play the hell out of that game if I still owned it.

For me its gotta be either X1 or Megaman and Bass.

X for its new take on the series and M&B for its replayability value with the CD collecting (and Super Bass!)

Come to think of it, can't think of a megaman game I dislike that I've played though (1-7 & 9, x1-x4, M&B, Command Mission, Zero 1+2, Battle Network 1-3 and Transmission)

Gonna go with Mega Man 2, my favorite video game of all time.

Even had to show my love for it in Forza 3:

Man, I hate to seem wishy-washy, but Megaman Legends 1 and 2 tie for 1st place. Hahaha, I recently bought 1, and remembered how awesome 2 was (My cousin used to have it, but I can't seem to find it in a store anywhere...)

Legends was really good, I wish they'd make more in the series.

By the way, has anyone seen that Mega Man movie yet? For a low budget fan made movie it was really good. They didn't butcher the story or characters and it actually followed the first game pretty closely.

Say wha...!? A Mega Man movie? How? When? Where do I find it?

Seriously! I never knew they made a movie! Time to head to youtube! :D
And yeah, seeing a MML3 would be awesome (the 2nd one's ending leaves the possibility), but I'd hope they included the wii as a system for it. Otherwise I'd miss out on a great game...

The movie does exist! But I'm not surprised this is the first time hearing about it(I didn't know it was done either) cause apparently it was just uploaded last week.

Behold! http://www.megamanfilm.com/

For what it is, it's awsome! But for spoilers, well let's try out that spoiler tag thingy:

-Dr. Wily was played a little too over the top to early.

-Bomb Man looked like a rooster.

-It was odd how half the Robot Masters were CG, while the other three were guys in suits.

-The fights were a tad too short, but hey, they were well done.

-Nitpicking time! Bomb Man is NOT Cutman's weakness!!!!!!

-Yellow Devil was just awsome. Very glad he appeared.

-There were a few well placed bits of humor. I also enjoyed it when they sneaked in the original sprites.

-Dr. Light was very well played.

-Proto Man punching Elecman's head off, too cool. Very surprising.

-Rock playing Contra was cool, but nitpicking....why Contra? Yes it came out around the same time as Mega Man, but that's a Konami game. It would have made more sense to use another Capcom game. Don't know why, but it would.

-The script was actually very competant, and followed the game very well. Yeah it might have been a tad predictable in spots, but overall they didn't gum it up with useless crap or change it for no reason.

All in all, a very enjoyable movie. I encourage you guys to see it. Oh, and the video quality was very good as well.

I ordered Mega Man Legends 2, and it's supposed to get here today. I can't wait to try this baby out! :D
I recall it being about the best game ever, and the reviews I've recently read seem to agree. I've missed this game ever since my cousin sold his copy a long time ago...
