I've actually heard that Star Trek: TAS was on par with shows like Justice League Unlimited and Beast Wars.

I saw a DVD set of the old TOS animated series, I am pondering if I should get a set of that or not. I am still looking for TOS box sets, hard to find in Michigan, amounst other things. :-P

Seeing as how noticable your bias to TOS itself if, I shall hold your opinion as moot. :-P

I honestly don't know. I've never seen an episode that's just what I've heard.

Granted, I've heard that from Star Wars fans, so take what you will.

Well, Star Wars and Star Trek fans ( traditionally ) don't see eye to eye. I actually heard the reason it was taken off the air orginally was cause the stories were too complex for the average 5-9 year old. TAS was actually aimed at TOS fans, who were probably eaither teenagers or adults in their 20's - 30's at that time.

I outta pick up the boxset and do an episode to episode review one of these days here. :-?

Chances are then, that'd I'd like the animated series. I like how the original cast evolved into the characters they played in the movies, with the exception of the Motion Picture. Between TOS and the Wrath of Khan, they seemed to learn how to act, and the writers learned how to tell a good story, to me anyway.

I always liked The Motion Picture, it's my fav Trek Film.

There's also a site dedicated to TAS, and it has the episodes, audio only, to dowload. Just listening to it was pretty cool, sorta like the old school stories one could hear on the radio long ago.

Goobertron wrote:Well I said I dont like Star Trek more because of visual affects and I expressed that. And like I said I dont hate it, I just dont like it. I think they could have done much better with such a vast scheme, I mean its space, with countless ideas that could have been used. But think what you like. I saw this thread and thought to post how I feel about Star Trek. Maybe since this thread isnt called, "why you dont like Star Trek", you will consider it a thread jack or slagging or whatever. Its simply my perception of that show. Maybe I dislike it because it had such potential and never reached the greatness level it could have achieved. Or maybe I think it blows. But its just my opinion, that doesnt mean you need to get mad at me.

My aploagies Goobertron. I was not actually angry, I was calmly stating that general mud throwing was not acceptable behaviour. However, your original post did come across as a bit nasty to those who do like it. But what you wrote the second time may say the same thing, but it's in a much better way. Nicer to those who like it. And that's all we ask.
