the problem is really that the character was designed male, then given a female personality. Regardless of if hasbro intended it to be Female from the start, Takara designed it with a male in mind. So you have a very masculane body. You'd be better off scratch building if wanted to get a truly female figure for Overdrive.

F' it! I'm cuttin' the chest in half, pattin' it pink and white, slappin' E. Arcee's head on it and callin' it a day. It won't transform but it'll be cool. I'm sure you guys can figure something out, best of luck to you all.

... she would make a good Arcee, but I'd go about that all different. I would use the back-sides of the car as shoulderpads, hollow the front end of them out so the arms could stick out the bottoms in robot mode. move the hinge on the wheel flipping over, and move the shoulder closer to that hinge, so that it's pretty much the same in vehicle mode, but the shoulder ends up coming out right where the wheel is. make the shoulders round, angle the back end of the windshield, maybe hinge the head to fold under the windshield. maybe make it so her boots swivel around to become her thighs. and change the backpack and head of course.

I'm not sure what good clear headlight covers would do. I'm not sure it would effect it that much.

I was watching Cybertron the other day,and Override looks a little ?butch? in the show too, which also suits her personality as well. The figure reminds me of one of my Sergeants when I was in the Army many years ago. She was shaped like a brick wall, not a womanly curve to be seen. T0o really ?feminize her, Override would need some serious reconstruction. If I were to do it, I?d use the drawing of her found on the map that comes with the toys. Basically, make the side panels smaller and shorter, then add tapered obliques to her.

does anyone have a scan of that picture?

well, built like a brick wall (or brick @#$%-house, as a term I'm more familiar with) is a valid look. I guess she's got a lot of torq in her torso. eheh. :S I just wish more female TFs were more average looking instead of butch or barbie. You get Strika and Override on one end, and TM2 Blackarachnia and Energon Arcee on the other. well I guess Arcee was a little more normal. a little difficult to moderate those proportions on such a small figure though. ho-hum. semantics.
personally, I think she'd look pretty average with her torso half the width. looking at my photoshop, I still thought it looked androgenous at best.

thanks.
hm, in addition to her shoulderblades being half the width, her lower half seems like it's the same width as her upper-body. That's quite the exaggeration.

Perhaps remodeling her canopy in vehicle mode by basing it on the Mach 5 from Speed Racer might give a more female shape???

Clocker is an awesome looking figure. I love the repaint of him that was shown at Botcon this year too.

i probably wouldnt have a problem wiht override if she was a he, cuz when you first saw pics of the figure and the name, nitro convoy, u knew it was gonna be male, but nooooooooo hasbro had to confuse and anger us, but making him a she, and to anger us, they made her wicked bulky!

it's not hasbro's fault. Cartoon Network is the one that wanted the change. They wanted more female characters. So Hasbro had to do it. I find it worked out well for the show, but the toy does need some work.

How on Earth would Cartoon Network have a say in how many female charaters the show got?

I mean I guess its possible, but I jsut don't see how or why they'd care. Its a cartoon aimed at little boys, they have one main female character in Lory, don't see the point of changing Nitro Convoy like they did.

Well, now they have a female per faction. Autobot, Decepticon, and human.

so they want the little boys attrated to female transformers?

The reason why is that Cartoon Network also wants to attract the female audience as well. Even if they don't buy the toys. More female characters attract more girls to the show.

Even if CN had nothing to do with the "gender" change, theres no argument that the "chemistry" between Override and the girls in the show just works. Having watched Cybertron and seeing the interaction between Speedia and Earth females, watching GF would just seem weird because haveing the nickname "little-sister" go threw my mind and haveing Nitroconvoy talk would just seem to "Transvestite" like.

"Override TRANSFORM!!!! ::soundeffects:: (deep voice) So how about we watch girls jump up-and-down?"

Hm... I wonder how they shrunk it down while maintaining all the parts... *Mind begins to fomrulate how.* Yeah. I can see it... But that's a touch extensive and only somethong to do if you really wanna. Otherwise it seems pretty futile as the upper body is still pretty wide. The difference is maybe about a half an inch on either side.

I can't tell anything from those pictures. I see those black bits on the back are lower, but I have no idea why.
arg. I wish the caps on the backs of the torso weren't glued on on mine.
