Figure you're afraid to pull the trigger on

Is there any figure that you constantly look at on the toy shelf or online and debate whether or not to buy it, either because it's too expensive or it doesn't quite fit in with your collection, or some other reason entirely?

I want to get the Hercules and Casualty Insecticons so bad but their cost keeps pushing me away. Metroplex is another both for cost and because he's so damn big.

*raises her hand* Me being a tightwad combined with high prices has made me a window shopper extraordinaire

From the current brick-and-mortar offerings it's quite a bit:
- Beast Hunters Arcee
- Beast Hunters Vertebreak
- Beast Hunters Grimwing
- Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus
- Beast Hunters Beast Fire Predaking

And online, well... it makes me a sad bunny. Both the Samurai and Shinobi teams, several Arms Micron releases, the list goes on and on. And it's not limited to Transformers...

Megatron or Shockwave. I'm just way too afraid to pull the triggers on them.

Not so much a specific figure, but I've been holding off on getting into Minicons due to the numerous repaints, rarities, and the cost involved in getting most of them that catch my eye.

I suspect I'll finally cave in and clear out the Botcon dealer room.

Beast Hunters Skystalker & Laserback. I already have Grimwing and Ripclaw and I plan on getting the Ultimate Predaking, but I have teh strong urge to complete the predacon team. (I don't care for the Predacon repaints, unless Hasbro made a Serket figure.)

MP retools, namely Streak, Alert and Smokescreen.

They're great figs and all, and I like that TT bothered to make them different enough from the original mold so as not to be lazy repaints. But...none of them are as prolific as the more popular characters; at least, not enough for me to put the cash on the counter.

I honestly would have bought them anyway if they were sold at deluxe class prices, though.

I would strongly encourage you to get Herc :D The Set of 6 on BBTS is expensive but $100 less than what those of us (me included) who got them individually paid.

As for what I'm afraid to pull the trigger on, the Fort Max reissue. Been wanting him since seeing PE-DX03 - Warden (trying to ignore the last 25 years of wanting him), but don't want to spend that money only to have Hasbro or a 3rd Party do it better in the future. Very tempting though.

Metroplex is the guy I'm reluctant on buying. For that money I usually go for vintage stuff.

I should add another:

- Prime RiD Optimus Prime

My local toy store has him, slightly discounted (not as much as I'd have liked) but I still have yet to decide which version I want: First Edition, PRiD, Arms Micron or Battle Shield. :BANG_HEAD:

Do not, I repeat, do noy buy the PRID version. It is bad.

Does the mold itself have major problems, excluding loose joints?

I'm interested in why too. I've got the AM Nemesis Prime version, it's not as bad as people say, I think most problems stem from the fact that it's not FE OP.

Mine does not have loose joints, but the mold is just not a good fit for the character. I don't like balljointed hips on this sizeclass and his weapon is horrible (all of the weaponizers are guilty of that crime). The FE looks superior, 'though I don't own one.

It amazed me how good the Magnus version of the PRID mold was.

On topic; I was always afaid to pull the trigger on Robot Masters Lio Convoy. I always debated since it was released back in 2004 whether to get the metallic version or the regular. . . Finally pulled the trigger last week and got the regular version, very much worth the wait.

Usually it's because of the price tag. Figure looks awesome in my eyes, but when I take a look at the price, I'm either instantly turned off or I'm left squirming because I'll probably never own it.

In any case, any of the Masterpiece figures, and any third party figures.

The most recent figure I've been afraid to pull the trigger on is Thrilling 30 Thundercracker. The mold's good, but FoC is out and I don't have as much hype for him or Skywarp anymore. Besides, I'm getting the upcoming Armada Starscream as the ideal representation for Starscream in my collection and two other seekers that look nothing like him just don't belong anymore.

Also, Thrilling 30 Voyager Sandstorm. I've already got Springer and I don't feel up to buying the mold again for some reason.

For me its hard to find G1 Japanese figures due to the prices.

Metroplex is a bother to me because I want a decent representation of Autobot City in my collection, but the Generations one's city mode looks ridiculous and is just too big for what you get out of it for me to dole out the cash for him... but then I don't see any alternatives...

It would be Encore Fortress Maximus for me. So close to pulling the trigger when it was $100 off. Still considering it now but I will not get it unless it is $100 off again. If it is I will most likely pick it up.

For not TFs it would be S.H. Figuarts Dragonball stuff. I do not want to collect anything besides TFs and buying one will draw me into the whole line. but they look amazing! =/
