Fixing broken pegs and other fixes? (BW:TM)

I'm doing touchups to my Transmetal Optimus Primal where I can (repainting faded/scratched paint etc) after pulling him out of storage.
I noticed one of the pegs that holds his forearms had snapped. It holds well enough in robot mode, but flops around loosely in beast mode (which is odd. It's not gravity, since the piece forms the upper half of his arm in beast mode, but thats another matter entirely).
Is there any fix I could do to add a 'new' peg or something else? The flopping is driving me insane, I can barely touch the figure in beast mode.
I've attached an image of said peg.
Also, while I'm here, his chest also doesn't hold as well as it used too. Not a problem in beast mode, but when I plug the chest/back pieces together in robot mode, moving his arms cause the chest to open up again. I've cleaned the 'plug' and 'socket' on the upper innards of his body, and theres no wear on either end, it feels almost like it's an air pocket pushing it apart. This isn't that bad, but if there's a fix I'd really appreciate any advice here. I feel it's just the figure showing it's age but I could be wrong.
