Form letter to Hasbro concerning FunPub credit breach

Some fans created these form letters we can send to Hasbro regarding the recent credit card information theft from the club's system. If you disagree with or feel any parts need to be edited, feel free to change it to your taste before you mail it out.

Enough snail mail from fans should get the point across that we won't tolerate anything like this happening again. The point isn't to shut down FunPub; it's to make Hasbro aware that we ARE very concerned about what has happened and that it has affected our opinions.

Here's a form letter for anyone who had their information stolen and used:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KZu ... edit?pli=1

And here's one for anyone who is worried their information may have been compromised, but hasn't been directly affected (yet):
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sVi ... edit?pli=1

Please don't edit this and send ridiculous, immature cries against FunPub. This is meant to be a civil letter-writing campaign to get a point across. The more CIVIL letters Hasbro receives, the better the point will come across.

Please spread this to anyone you know who has been affected or could potentially be affected by the recent credit situation with the club.

I know there are a lot of people PO'd about this situation - I myself had to cancel my credit card because of it due to some interesting charges that popped up on it. This was the first time in my many years that I've fallen victim to it. If you want to mail Hasbro about it, that's your choice but I got sad news for you - this **** happens.

I've got experience in IT security. I know that every day credit cards are stolen from the Internet, whether through fake websites or hacked websites or just people's ignorance. I also know that for every data breach that is publicized (such as Fun Pub's) there are hundreds that go by even without the company even telling their customers or the authorities that such a breach occurred. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro hasn't been the target of cybercrime at some point.

It's a sad state of affairs that this happened, but it will happen again. Maybe not on Fun Pub's site, but maybe BBTS or RobotKingdom or YaHobby or any one of our sponsors.

I'm not jumping to the defence of The Club, after all it was their negligence that allowed this to happen, and it appears they're already taking steps in fixing whatever happened. I do not foresee anything changing on a relationship level between them and Hasbro because of it. If you want something to change, bring up issues that force The Club to stand alone, and not where they appear to be just one in a million.

The other thing is how often does stuff like this happen and the collective group of customers have no idea of the culprit? Without sites like this one, TFW, and the like, who would even have any idea it was TFCC, or if they figured it out, know there were another 1000 victims? Chances are the online shoe buyers don't have a community where a ton of them shop to all say hey, I got hit by a cyber thief after buying from numbnutshoes.com...you too? 1000 others? WTF, numbnuts?

You should also add G.I. Joe Collector's Club to that form letter.
I'm not a member of the TF side but with the Joe side.
I don't think I have been hit yet. My recent statements don't have any anomalies. I think I will visit my bank & get my statement copies for a year to re-check.
