Simon Furman has once again updated his blog, this time concerning Spotlight: Blaster, which according to Diamond Comics is to be released on Wednesday the 23rd of January 2008.

Furman assures readers that Spotlight: Blaster is a very much self-contained issue, an entry level issue if you will, before giving away a relatively spoiler free synopsis of what to expect:

Betrayed, left for dead, someone went to great lengths to silence ‘The Voice,’ and now—with Blaster returned to the fold—they set out to finish what they started. With guest appearances by the likes of Silverbolt, Bluestreak, Beachcomber, Trailbreaker and Cosmos, plus a Decepticon or two, Spotlight Blaster has something for everyone: mystery, intrigue, action, character development.

Art duties will be handled by Emiliano Santalucia, his debut work for IDW Publishing.

This just sounds more and more interesting with each bit of info they give us. I hope my comic shop gets it in on schedule, 'cause I can't wait to read it.

I haven't seen a new Spotlight near me since Galvatron.

I'm hopin for a Spotlight Cosmos somewhere in the near future.

Aw, my comic store doesn't have it in yet! Dang it. I so want to read this one. Having Blaster alone would have been worth it. But then the previews showed that Perceptor and Silverbolt would have some "screentime" as well, which was icing on the cake. And now seeing that Beachcomber and Cosmos get a showing as well... argh! Darn comic store! I want to find out if it's as cool as it sounds.
