I did my usual trolling on eBay when I saw this...

Clearly something you don't see everyday. The seller also has a few other rare TF's. Because I'm crazy over certain things being MISB I'm not sure if I could ever open these if I was the winner. And even if I did open them I'd quickly put them under glass or protective plastic STAT.

So how high do you think this will go for? If you had the means would you spend it on this or something else perhaps? Any and all comments welcome.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Not $13,000 cool, but cool nonetheless. And BTW, if I did have the means, I would buy it but I wouldn't want it shipped to me. I would pick it up personally. It's too damn expensive to be just shipped publicly. And hell yes I would open it.

If I had the money (and more importantly, was allowed to spend that kind of money...) I would get it and open them up...They're still toys at the end of the day and they've been sealed for far too long. I don't collect for value, I collect for fun

It would be amazing to have for the galleries here.

saw this story earlier. I don't get why some people are hoping for this to be KOed.. Kinda defeats the purpose. for 13k I'll prob go and buy all of G1 first.

Definitely one of the holiest of grails for Transformers collectors...but I don't know what I would do with it if I had it. Something that rare and potentially fragile can't be enjoyed the same way.

I hope instead we see an homage to what never was in G2 with next year's assortment of "combiners." If we do get a new Menasor set, I would bet some store will get a "G2 exclusive version" akin to the one Amazon/BBTS got a while back with FoC Bruticus.

If it were KO'd, people could afford to buy it, rather than just looking at pictures of the real thing. It's the same reason people buy prints of original paintings.

How much the winner will pay I think depends on if:
1) the winner is single
2) the winner has a significant other who is ok with the amount, or
3) the winner has a significant other who is about to hit the roof when she sees the next credit card statement.

Many members of the Transformers fandom have been watching a set of unreleased G2 stunticons up for auction on ebay and wondering how high this holy grail will sell for. The auction included all five stunticons and included the combining kibble except for Menasor's head. It also included an internal Hasbro document. The auction closed for $26,815.

The only member of the G2 stunticons to have a small official release is G2 Breakdown which was the first exclusive for BotCon in 1994.

Seriously you could by a real car for that and what would be the point? You don't have Mensaor's face so you can't combine them and given the price you will probably never play with them.

Hopefully next year we will get new Stunticons toys with a G2 exclusive.

I dunno, to say that they have it maybe? To own a rare piece of TF history that's soooo rare that most collectors aren't even aware of its existence to even consider it a 'holy grail'? What's the point in collecting any TFs? It's no different than buying any rare/hard to find figure or vintage item to add to one's collection. These just so happened to be rarer and to go for a higher price. I've paid as much as $1250 for a single figure before just because it was an extremely rare piece that I wanted in my collection that badly.

As for not having the head, since it's based on the exact same mold as the G1 version, they could just use a G1 Menasor head. It's not like black and silver are going to clash with the rest of the combined mode or anything. Of course, if they really wanted to and they have like $5 worth of paints and a brush, they could just custom paint a G1 Menasor head to match the G2 set's color scheme and combine them. It wouldn't be hard to do at all.

Forget the price being the detriment to combining them.... TFWiki says that only Wildrider, Breakdown, Drag Strip and Dead End ever got as far as being sealed in packaging samples, Motormaster never did. This means this set is very likely the ONLY G2 Menasor that is MISP in existence. That alone should prevent whomever has the apparently deep pockets to buy this item from opening the bags and combining them, let alone playing with them.

And if you think about it, we already have CHUG versions of Breakdown (from TFCC) and Drag Strip (from the Classics Mirage mold), so all we need is Dead End and Wildrider. I bet you anything the new Generations Voyager Optimus will be redecoed/retooled into Motormaster.

If I were the lucky --and very rich-- buyer, you can bet your ass that these babies will be out of their plastic baggies and I'll combine them the very second after!

Unfortunately, I'm sure the owner will keep these toys in their bags, hidden in a dark box forever.

Yeah, really. And if I won the auction, and they truly were 1 of a kind, I'd let Ryan borrow them to do a gallery of them. Unless he has some rule about photographing only figures he owns or something like that.
