Galaxy Force SUPREME Starscream?

Cybertron Supreme Starscream:

As far as I know, this figure was never released in Japan under the Galaxy Force name. At least not as the supreme size. Is this true? It was proposed I believe, and was maybe going to be released as the USA Edition or something, but it never happened right?

I realize GD-03 was the voyager starscream that we never got, but in turn did Japan ever get a Supremem Starscream? If they did, can someone provide pics?

Please say yes... :-?

It would have been funny if they got a Supreme Starscream colored like our Voyager Starscream. :P

You are correct. His color was extremely dark red if I remember correctly.

The full answer: yes, Supreme Starscream was released in Japan, but not under Galaxy Force name. Rather, he was a "USA Edition" which means the toy was in American packaging. He did get a name change: "Super Starscream" instead of "Supreme". He was exclusive to Toys 'R Us, one of the stores that regularly carries USA Edition toys alongside e-Hobby and Toy's Dream Project.

And as shown, we did get the smaller Starscream mold, as a Toys 'R Us exclusive, albeit repainted. Somehow Toys 'R Us, being an international chain, manages to negotiate with both TakaraTomy and Hasbro about exclusive items. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have:

- Powerlinx Optimus Prime / SC-13 SL Grand Convoy
- the smaller E-Megatron / SD-07 Galvatron
- the Beast Wars Reborn remolds of Ultra Primal and Megatron
- the smaller Voyager Starscream mold

They all would have been Japan-only items.

So has anyone ever seen a USA Edition Supremem Starscream? In or out of package?

Are there any documented differences between the two? I would assume they are identical other than packaging, much like Primus was.

I seem to remember there being photos of 'USA Edition' Supreme Starscream when he first came out, and he was in exactly the same packageing. Wouldnt surprise me if they just stuck stickers with the relivent information on the packaging like hasbro does with the SWTFs in the UK (we get a sitcker about Hasbro UK over the hasbro US details).

Bingo! Super Starscream was in Cybertron packaging with a sticker denoting his status as a USA Edition, and maybe another sticker on the back with other relevant info in Japanese.

The Armada Prime repaint, Quickmix, and Menasor were also released as USA Editions in a similar manner. Don't remember if Dark Crumplezone was or not.

Thanks for the info guys.

So let me pose a question:
Does being released as a USA edition in Japan constitute a new release if the figure is identical, packaging-wise and figure-wise, to the USA Cybertron release?

And who is the manufacturer at that point? Hasbro or Takara?
Keep in mind Hasbro probably manufactured the piece, but Takara released it...

Id' like your opinions.

It's a new release for Japan, if not the US, so I suppose it's still news. Just not very big or important news. Why is this important at all?

You said yourself Hasbro manufactured them. USA Editions are essentially official imports, through whatever deal Hasbro and Takara work out. When the old Hasbro store imported BW2 and BW Neo figures, slapping the plain white Hasbro sticker on them, it didn't change the fact that they were still Takara figures.

As he was a remold, you can be sure Takara did him first (and Im pretty sure I've seen the Takara version available online). With the last line I dont think any remolding (of new or existing figs) was done by Hasbro, only Takara (which then by n large went on to be sold by Hasbro too, Hasbro's Armada repaints I beleive went on to be USA Editions in Japan).

Actually there was no Galaxy Force release of Arm Bullet (Dark Crumplezone) released in Japan. The mold was released only in the Cybertron line.

That is correct Galaxy Force also did not have a release for Moledive (Menasor) or Blender (Mixmaster). Though suposedly E Hobby released them as USA editions.

Another interesting thing is that Galaxy Force Dark Ligerjack was a Japanese TRU exclusive.
