Y'all been quiet or just busy?

Renegade Ops [PC]:
Playing co-op with a friend. That's the only reason I'm not dying as much as I should be, playing as dat Roxy and all. Got her to Level 22. We haven't fought our way Out Of Africa just yet, and Inferno's planning something BIG here. I'm guessing complete global saturation big. I hope my friend's character has a boulder-punching ability unlocked, or we're going to be a couple of Renegade Sandwiches.

No More Heroes [Wii]:
Took down Destroyman and best of all, the amount of quidbucks I earned during his Ranking battle was more than enough to pay for the next one. :ic$:

Saved at the washrooms at the beach (after grabbing the card hidden behind it, of course). Next time, I'm off to face Holly. Well, after her bit with the 'nade, maybe I shouldn't use the words "Holly," "face," and "off" so close to each other.

Monster Hunter Tri [Wii]:
Someone I know bought the $40 pack that comes with the Classic Controller Pro just for the gamepad, so I bought the game off him, shrink-wrapped and brand-new, for $10. Not a bad deal, yes? Going to play online with a friend and... do my best to understand what this game's about.

Started my first playthrough. About 3 hours in. Current mission is the tutorial one that has me learning how to swim and fight underwater. Spent some time exploring, mining, crafting. Made some new equipment out of the Iron Ore I found. Now I'll have to build a house of wood, maybe add some Redstone circuitry, a few pressure plate traps...

This game has a very steep learning curve. It reminds me of Phantasy Star Online, but not necessarily in a good way. Elements of PSO's terrible gameplay and combat system are present in Tri. You can control the camera in Tri, which you inexcusably couldn't do decently in PSO, but not really, since the vertical movement cycles between pre-set zoom and angle levels. Lack of a targeting system and overly-long animations makes combat even more tedious than PSO. Taking down monsters isn't "rewarding" as some reviews have claimed. It's a smegging chore.

I take the 3 day rule very seriously. And busy...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Finally moved on from Solitude and got myself declared a Thane of Morthal. 4 Thane-ships so far (whiterun, markarth, solitude, morthal). Just moved to Dawnstar and helped destroy an artifact that was giving everyone nightmares. Got a quest to retrieve items for a museum dedicated to an evil cult.
Also, I'm a vampire now. Whee!
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

I'm beginning to think my Inquisitor is bipolar. But she's a Sith so what can you do? With her it often comes of more as funny though. (Sudden bursts of gleeful enthusiasm on a character otherwise marked by intense ennui or homicidal arrogance)

Just finished Tatooine, picking up Space Pirate Steve Blum on the way. Next up, Alderaan, a planet where nothing bad will ever happen...I think I used that one already...

I started a new character on another server, because I gave one of my 7-day trial passes to a friend of mine. He went Sith Inquisitor (He has a thing for Togruta, and I let slip that the Inquisitor gets a Togruta Jedi chick) so I went Sith Warrior. Turns out, you can do a lot in only a few hours when two people are putting effort into one quest; the game is moderately difficult solo, but with two people, and then two companions on top of that, it's a breeze. Cleared Korriban, next up: Dromund Kaas...no, wait, no, Black Talon. Yeah.

I beat it yesterday, but I was so pissed off I decided to go on the Bioware forums and take my anger out on them there.
The endings are complete and total BS that have absolutely NOTHING to do with anything you did in the first 2 games. Instead the game tries to pull some Assassin's Creed 2 sh!t and pull some random plot device out of nowhere that makes no sense in the context of the story whatsoever. The only difference with the AC series, is that they had multiple games to explain to you what the hell just happened at the end of AC2. But this is supposed to be the end of this trilogy and I don't see where the hell they could be going after this.

And what pisses me off the most about these stupid endings is that everyone dies regardless of what choices you make. That and there are only 3 endings which all come out with the same results, it's just that the thing you use to destroy the galaxy is a different color. What a complete and total rip off. I invested countless hours into the ME games making sure I chose what I wanted to chose just so Bioware could laugh in my face. The entire ending to the trilogy was a HUGE "****you" to the long time fans and I am extremely pissed off. It feels like I wasted a huge chunk of my life for nothing. The ending didn't just ruin this game, but the entire ME series. It's as if I died when this game ended. So, screw Bioware unless they pull some Fallout 3 crap and reveal that everyone isn't dead, I'm done with this.

Yeah, there's more than three endings. There's like sixteen endings, based on your readiness level and whether or not you saved or destroyed the Collector Base on ME2. Here is a big list of the endings.

I heard about that, but everyone keeps saying they get the same endings every time. I'll try to see if I can beat it again this time with full readiness, because the first time all I was interested in was beating the game. I hardly did any side missions.

That was your problem. Bioware said well before the game came out that although you could rush through the main story, that would lead to the worst endings, and to get the best endings, you had to do all or as many sidequests as possible.

Everyone still says that no matter how high your asset bar is, you still get the same endings. Everyone who's played the game says that they can only get 3 endings and they're all the same.

Sidequests are understandable. MP affecting endgame is BS, especially for reclusive misanthropes such as myself.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Being a vampire got to be too much for my character when he hit stage 4. Decided it was time to ditch the blood sucking routine. Made a meal of a Morthal citizen to revitalize myself then got a local Mage to set me up with a cure ritual. All he needed was a extremely difficult to get black soul gem. Luckily, I had 5 in my pocket. 8)
Had to wait until morning so decided to finish off a side quest. Went to an ice cave, took out a nest of necromancers with my new 15x stealth damage perk and retrieved a lost flute. Returned to Morthal and the ritual was performed. VAmpirism cured. This also means I'm free to hit the quest to make myself a werewolf.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Attempting to locate every piece of the truth is probably one of the most tedious things Iv'e ever attempted. The database tells you what cities they're in and on what buildings, but seriously, I haven't a clue which building's which. I have cheat map, but I can't view it without quitting the game. I could just look up the finished clip on youtube, but were's the fun in that?

Anyway, MSX Metal Gear is pissing me off. I beat "The flame trooper" and got to the area on the roof were you run from all these annoying jet troopers to get the next card key, but after that...ugh...SO MUCH BACKTRACKING!

You can use trucks to quickly travel from one point to another but yeah, compared to the Solid series, the first two MG games are really bad with backtracking.

The Ultimate Doom:
Cleared The Shores of Hell, next up, Inferno. I also wrote one completely true sentence as a recommendation.

Not that I should have to recommend Doom.

The trucks go both ways? Anyway, there's some save game issue. Ive killed the Flame Trooper 3 times now. I Keep having to redo crap and it's agitating. Someone should remake these into modern titles with voicework, a better written version of the story, and some serious work on directioning. I hate it when a game throws you into the middle something and just expects you to know EVERYTHING. It's Metal Gear not frikk'n Simon's Quest.

Uh, did it not tell you everything so far? Grey Fox is sent to infiltrate the mercenary stronghold Outer Heaven, but after sending the message "metal gear" ended up being captured. FOXHOUND rookie Solid Snake was sent in to rescue him and figure out the meaning of Grey Fox's last transmission.

Pretty sure the MSX version tells you that.

It's classic gaming. The idea of a cinematic experience in gaming hadn't come up yet. It's a heated argument whether the gaming industry is better off with much more complex storytelling. While I'm in the "They are better off for it" camp, I'm also not one to fault older games for not conforming to standards and conventions of modern gaming. There's a certain beauty to it all, how it isn't a modern game, it's so old and it's amazing for it.

tl;dr version: It's a piece of classic gaming. You take it how it is and love it either in spite or because of how it doesn't use modern conventions.

The Ultimate Doom:
Cleared Inferno. Spider Mastermind laid down some heat, but nothing that couldn't be solved by spamming the goddamn BFG 9000.

True fact: Every problem can be solved by spamming the BFG 9000.

Ok, what were they on when they made Godhand? In order to beat some bosses, you need frikk'n thumbs of steel! I'm fighting the "Devil Hand" and Iv'e got to say, this game would benefit from better controls. Just a lock-on button would help SO MUCH. All this fight is is bobbing, weaving, running, clashing, and dodging faster than any other game Iv'e played (save for DBZ Budikai tentkaichi 3, but that game benefited from it's insanely fast gameplay) I always stop playing before i'm ready because my hands start to hurt like all hell.

If I remember right, it's the final boss. He's a bit trickier, but not unbeatable, especially since you would have both God Hands.

I never beat it but yes it goddamn is. Mind you, the only enemies in the game are bosses, the bosses are glorified jumping puzzles, it's a pain to figure out the story (It's a prequel to ICO, that's all I know) and no one speaks any language I ever heard. But it was still freaking amazing.

Damn, I know what I'm saving up for now.

Doing what I always do, running quests.
Working out of Winterhold. After the student tour ended with me and my teacher fighting a ghoul and discovering an ancient power source, was tasked with researching it. But all the books on it were stolen. Was tasked with tracking down the thief. Tracked him to a collective of rogue Mages. They're all dead now. Their leader was kind enough to accept a persuasion check and give me back the books, but she's clearly evil so I killed her with a 15x stealth dagger attack.
That same chain of events got me the final amulet part. Took it to a place to reforge it and had to fight the 3 evil spirits who I defeated earlier. One of them used a Force shout that clipped me through a wall, into the void, and back to the entrance. I returned to the battle but found I was locked out of the room still. Luckily it was a pike gate so I just kept conjuring atronachs and firing lightning through the door in safety.
On a side note, found a lighthouse that had been ransacked by a Chaurus infestation. Cleared them out.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

6 hours into Shadow of the Colossus, Ive slaughtered 10 of them. The third one was a pain in the ass, and the giant turtle was hard as well, but I get by well enough. It's the giant bird that was the most fun so far. I hope to fight another flyer. But I have a question. what are these lizards for? They have white tails, and when you kill them, you pick something up (the tail I think, does he eat it I wonder?) and they appear most often around save points.
