Commander Keen: Keen Dreams (DOS)
GAME OVER BEATEN. And I'm a bit disappointed by this title. Sure, it says Keen, but it's not really Keen, you know? And the game looks a bit unfinished, especially with the ending, no images like the original trilogy. O well, was still fun in its own right.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Tomb Raider.

I started it yesterday morning and I beat it like a half an hour ago. I did stop in between to celebrate my birthday. But I pretty much did play it half of yesterday and half of today. I beat it on normal also. Now I'm just going around trying to find all of the stuff I missed.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection

I beat the story mode on Budokai 1 and now I'm just trying to get all of the trophies before I start working on Budokai 3. Afterwards I finish 1 though, Budokai 3 will always be picked. It's just that much better than 1. Too bad there's no online though

Those are 2 games I got for my birthday. I also got TF: Fall of Cybertron finally. I'm going to start the story mode tonight. I already played a few round of multiplayer. I'm still not sure if it's better than WFC or worse (gameplay wise).

Did the Bank Heist with Packie and Derrick, now I'm running a few different jobs for them, Gerald, and Ray.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown:
I could have beaten this yesterday, I saved right before using the Gollop Chamber, though not in the final mission itself. I took a break, and ended up reading spoilers. Then I...uh...decided I'd like to spend a little more time with my best soldier before she...well, you'll see when you finish the game...

Blade mode is a bit complex from a technical perspective. You dond just hack away, you need to aim. You could just use the right stick to aim, but I find lining up the cut with the right stick (Like hold it in one direction, "About to cut.) and hitting square or triangle (X or Y) to be easier for precise cuts. Hope that helped. Remember though, Square/X For sideways cuts,Triangle/Y For downward/upward cuts.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection

I have everybody unlocked on both Budokai and Budokai 3. On Budokai, now I'm just playing the World Tournament mode so I can buy a crap load of capsules and have everything for everybody. I don't plan on playing it again afterwards, it's just a self achievement type thing. On Budokai 3, I have everything I can unlock from the Dragon Universe mode. All the characters I can get from it and all of the capsules. In the Dragon Universe mode, I unlocked the Saibamen and the Cell Jrs along with the Cell Games Tournament. I'm going to eventually play through it all just to see what else I can get. And then I just have to go to the skills shop and buy everything else from that. I also got the platinum trophy for it.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron

I started the campaine mode, but when I got to the level where you play as Bruticus, it keeps freezing my PS3 up. :BOOM: Now I have to see if I can replace it with another copy. I still play the multiplayer though and it's pretty good. I haven't touched the Escalation Mode yet.

Before resorting to that, try restarting the mission and trying again. This is a common issue, ESPECIALLY with Bruticus. Restarting the whole mission from Chapter select is the only fix I know, and it may still freeze up a couple more times down the road...

Thanks for the advice, Beastprowl!

Damn, I didn't even know you could dodge. I'll definitely give that a try.

As for parrying, I find it hard to get the timing right. Mostly I end up blocking instead.

Ironically, I'm not so bad with blade mode. More often than not, I can score a Zandatsu. I also use a similar technique for cutting. I line up the cut, and simply release the stick to cut. I find that pushing the stick to the opposite side to simulate a cut to be very inaccurate. I'll try out your technique, as it seems like an even better way.

Freezing is a well-known problem with the WFC and FOC games. Getting the disc replaced won't guarantee a glitch-free game, as it's a software problem. IMO, try out what Beastprowl advised, and it that doesn't work, remove the disc, delete the game data (NOT your game save data, but the data the game installed into your console) on the PS3 and reinsert the disc. That usually works, for some reason.

BWs advise worked and I beat the story mode on normal and finishing it with Megatron. Now I have to do it on hard and finish it with Optimus Prime and then just do the extra things required to get all of the story trophies. on multiplayer, all 4 classes are at least level 12. I try to keep them even. That's what I did on WFC. I also bought all of the DLC for FoC so I can play with Hound on MP :D

How many Zandatsu's can you do at once? With the cut anything wig, and Armor Breaker, my personal best is 3, though try as I might I cant get more. Is there a Zandatsu limit?

I got lucky once and scored 3 Zandatsu's, but mostly its single ones, and the occasional double Zandatsu's. I haven't unlocked that particular wig (didn't even know there was a cut anything wig--how do you unlock it?) but I'm using the blue one which gives you unlimited time in blade mode, and Armor Breaker.

Not sure if there's a limit to Zandatsu's, but I don't think so. Thing is, I don't think the blade mode screen can accommodate more than three targets even when bunched together, as the screen zooms in on the enemy during blade mode.

You have to collect all the ID Chips, the left arms. Then beat the game on Hard difficulty.

It lets you instantly cut through any cyborg in blade mode Save for bosses of course.

Again, thanks for the heads-up! I've already gotten all the left hands, but am still missing 3 of the ID chips. I'll be starting on Hard mode once I fully upgrade my Armor Breaker.

...not that the wig will do me any good in VR missions, as you're only limited to the weapons they allow you to have, which is the standard blade and whatever sub-weapons you already have.

So...you collect these identification tags, and then you get a wig for Raiden that boosts his abilities?

...clever, Platinum Games, very clever indeed.

Resident Evil 6:
Working on getting the last of the Serpent Emblems. So far, all that's left are the ones in Chris's campaign. I also did a couple of Intersection Events, in particular playing as Ada, helping a guy fight off a boss as Leon. Well, "help" isn't the right word; the scene involves Ada in an attack helicopter so it was more like "winning the fight for him, but it took no effort on my part so it's all good."

Yeah, Platinum got the Metal Gear feel down pretty good. I dont want to spoil it for you, so no details, but each boss, save for Mistral, can be fought using two different methods. Sure, you could use conventional means. But if you think outside the cardboard box, it makes each fight that much more interesting.

Like in MGS3 with The End, you COULD have an epic game of sniper cat'n'mouse, OR you could turn off your system and wait a week so he dies of old age!

Mass Effect Series

I just bought and started downloading the first Mass Effect game onto my PS3. Now I have the whole series minus the comic. I have all 4 novels, all 3 games and all the DLC for the games. I just need to find the comic and I can start the series. I'm one of them people who needs everything in the series to truly appreciate it.

Eh? Mass Effect was really easy to get the hang of. Just a regular ol' shooter with some RPG mechanics sewn in.

Resident Evil 6:
My hunt for Serpent Emblems has hit a snag; the first Emblem is Chris's campaign won't unlock, but it's acting like I already unlocked it. And because Google's a piece of crap and can't distinguish between "bugged" (Like, an issue with the game) and "bug" (like, a crawly thing) all I get are freaking guides that involve shooting bug monsters.

I hate you, Google, you used to be cool, now you're the opposite.

In the meantime, I started on Mercenaries mode. I unlocked Piers, Helena, and Sherry, as well as Sherry's alternate outfit. (It's her old school uniform...except it hasn't been resized to fit her adult body)

Name one other shooter were you press select to throw grenades.
Also, I understand that you're not trained to use a sniper rifle, but you are a trained soldier, so WHY are you SOOO inaccurate with the damn thing? And you die in like 3 hits, to hoards of enemies that take lik 5-8 hits to bring down. Not to mention, that asteroid mission, with the mines. Kill me now.

I loved the story and narrative of it, but the game was just hellraising.

Select? No idea. A game where you have a separate button for grenades? Almost all of them. And why wouldn't you experiment with what each button does the moment you get into gameplay? Back in my day, games didn't have to spell it out for you. You either learned or you died on level one and damn it, that's the way we liked it!

BeastProwl wrote:Also, I understand that you're not trained to use a sniper rifle, but you are a trained soldier, so WHY are you SOOO inaccurate with the damn thing? And you die in like 3 hits, to hoards of enemies that take lik 5-8 hits to bring down.

Soldiers aren't trained with every weapon, even in real life. Just because you're a trained soldier doesn't mean you can pick up and perfectly use every weapon.

BeastProwl wrote:Not to mention, that asteroid mission, with the mines. Kill me now.

Eh...there have been WAY worse missions in way better games.

Resident Evil 6:
Unlocked the alternate outfits for Leon (Pirate, complete with fancy hat and eyepatch) Chris (Samurai) and Helena. (Sexy policewoman) All that's left are Piers, Jake, Ada, and the Agent.

No, I don't know who the Agent is, but just for giggles I'm going to pretend he's HUNK.

Okay, I played Mass Effect when it was still new on XBox 360 and I found the grenade thing to be odd too. But I got used to it. I don't remember how the sniper rifles were but I'm pretty sure I can agree with you. And the astroid mission was DLC for the game that thankfully they threw in on the PS3 version. Because they gave you codex files on Batarians but you didn't meet one 'till that DLC mission came out and they were everywhere on that mission. But Bioware changed the controls up for 2 so you can throw grenades by selecting from the power wheel depending on what class you chose.

But right now I'm about to say f*** the comics and just start the series anyways. And I'm going to start by reading the book Revelations before I start the first game. It has Captain Anderson in it!

His problem is that certain classes aren't specced to used Sniper Rifles. Which makes a blinding amount of sense.

By the way, look up the bug that can get you infinite money from Dr. Michel. If you get a million credits, you are allowed to purchase the second-best weapon set in the game, and the best weapon set once you hit level 50. Also it'll give you cool rewards in ME2. Just a heads up.

Resident Evil 6:
I decided to try out Mercenaries multiplayer. It was a wise choice, actually, if you get someone who knows what they're doing, you kick unreasonable amounts of ass. And unlike co-op in a lot of things, I never felt like either of us were slowing the other down. Unlocked the alternate outfits for Jake (Street thug) Piers (NASCAR pit crew) and Ada (Qipao). Turns out, the Agent doesn't have an alternate costume. And since I unlocked everyone and their alternate outfits, I also unlocked Carla Radames.

Your saying I DONT like good ol' fashioned difficulty? Please, I grew up with Contra, Mortal Kombat, and all the Marios. Alot of people say "Oh, Mario's so easy!" To them I say "Put down the DS son, its time for class"

About the weapon specs, yeah, one character class not being as good as another with a certain weapon makes perfect sense.

Aiming down the sights of a rifle and having it flail around like it does however does not. Its like MGS1 sniping with no pills, possible, but a pain in the ass. I can hold a rifle sturdier than that, and im neither trained nor qualified.
