Right now im tapdancing on hell's chess board.

Someone humor me, is DMC4 as awesome as this one? Because this game is just, I have no words to describe how amazing it is.

Most people think DMC4 isn't nearly as bad as 2, but still far weaker than 3 and 1. Personally I think 4 is one of the better ones. It's why I think the reboot was so unnecessary, the series was just starting to find its voice, so to speak, and between 3, 4, and the anime, seemed to finally figure out how it wanted to handle its universe. Then they went and made a crappy new one.

BeastProwl wrote:Also, Ive been trying to unlock Trish in DMC2, and I noticed something. I knew I saw that giant spider demon somewere before, and after some searching, it turns out you can summon him in Bayonetta, made by the same people (To my knowledge). Thats were I saw him. She also says "flock off feather face" if I remember right. Love that game even more now.

The lava scorpion thing? That's Phantom, he was a boss in the first DMC. He also makes a brief cameo in the opening of the anime.

I get what you're saying about DMC trying o find its voice. In 1, Dante was kind of bland and in 2, he was all serious and junk. But in 3, 4 and the anime, he was all conceited and stuff. It was good stuff. But to be honest, I like the new DmC game. I know that they redesigned Dante and Virgil and changed the story. But I think it's still fun and the story is good. Maybe if it was like a spin-off or named it Devil May Cry 5 or something then it'd be cooler and you would be playing yet another character, but I'm totally fine with this new version.

The story, as I understand it, isn't anything to get excited about either. I mean, they try to play Virgil turning out to be evil as a big twist! Uh oh, spoiler alert, the guy we've only ever known to be an antagonist turned out to be an antagonist! The moment I saw Virgil in the trailers, I knew he'd wind up being a boss, because he's Virgil, he's never not been a villain.

I'll probably pick up the new game if I find it at an extremely cut down price. $10 tops.

The DMC reboot if iffy across the board. Look, if you wanna ply a faithful action packed spinoff of a good, popular series, get Metal Gear Rising. That game and it's DLC are worth every cent. DMC is floaty and boring, and devil trigger is a game of flying tag, basically.

Rising has been on the list ever since I tried the demo, I just never got around to buying it. But then Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea and XCOM: Enemy Within are coming out next week, so my wallet is already tied up.

Eh, well, when you do eventually get around to buying it, go for the ultimate edition. It comes with the main campain, VR DLC, Jetstream DLC, and Bladewolf DLC, and I think it comes with the MGS4 Raiden skin too.

Sadly, if you want to play as Gray Fox, your out of luck.

Why? Aside from the Jetstream, Bladewolf and VR DLC, (And among those, only the VR missions actually cost money) it's all just a bunch of skins. Not worth an extra $15.

Rayman Legends
Murphy's stages still bug me, but the rest of the game is worth the purchase price. I technically 'beat' the game, but there's a whole other painting world, the origins levels, and a half-dozen invasion levels that have popped up. Onward!

Super Luigi U
Cleared Rock Candy Mines. So far have 100% star coins on all preceding worlds.

Rayman Legends
GAME.OVER! ...again.
I leave this game feeling slightly embittered. I have done literally everything that is needed in the single-player game and I'm short one creature and 3 more characters. Either multiplayer offers additional bonuses or the game is attempting to force replay value through the online challenges.
As I have conquered the game with all levels beaten, all Teensies collected, All trophies, and repeating this for all of the Origins levels, I consider myself done with this.

Rage:
So there's a free weekend going on on Steam for this and wow this game is bland. Imagine Borderlands Western Used-universe feel, cut out the humor with a rusty hacksaw, then plant Doom 3's gameplay in there. It's only just enough fun that I feel the slight urge to keep playing. Not nearly enough for me to shell out the $5 their asking for it.

Yes, I am aware that is the price I paid for Duke Nukem Forever.

Completed 100%. Beat all levels with all star coins and cleared the superstar road levels with all coins too.
The challenge here was insane but fair. Glad I bought it when I did

Just one more backlog game to get through and I can start buying new stuff.

Doing the Lonesome Road add-on for Fallout: New Vegas after putting off finishing it for several months. Currently dying repeatedly trying to kill a massive swarm of Tunnelers in the Cave of Abaddon.

Lego Batman 2
Beat the game much sooner than expected. I've done very little exploring in the city areas so I guess I missed the point. Going back to see what I can unlock in free play.
I doubt I'll hit 100% but let's see how far I can get before I move on.

Borderlands 2

Beat Wattle Gobbler.
Fun Fact: Mr. Tourge's full name is Mister Tourge High Five Flexington.
The final headhunter pack will be "How Marcus Saved Mecenary Day"
Probably christmas themed.

Lego Batman 2
Unlocked a bunch of characters, both villain and bad guy but only about 40.0% completion. I don't have time to finish this and I expect some other games in the next few weeks. For now, calling this one done. It's not a bad game but I simply should have played it more when I first got it.

Lost in Shadow
Another game that fell into the 'when I get around to it' category. In 2 days I've jumped up about 10 stories. Currently somewhere around 34F.

Witcher 2
Going to start actively playing this game again. Currently reliving the assault on a fort. Trying to repurpose a ballista for my own uses.

It has been a busy weekend:

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker:
BEATEN! Zeke is dead (Sort of) Paz is dead (OR IS SHE? She isn't) and the world is saved. Well...saved in the sense that Big Boss hasn't started his own nuclear crisis yet but that's neither here nor there.

Metal Gear Rising:
BEATEN! Turns out, while it was $50 on PSN, it was only $30 at the nearest game-selling-place. Bought that **** up but quick, beat it (I played on Easy, I like to start there to get a feel for the game and to experience the story) and then beat the Sam and Bladewolf DLCs because there were free.

Sonic Generations:
BEATEN! Okay seriously, this is a progress thread not a "I just beat this" thread and I really need to get on the ball here. Still, best Sonic game, by far, since Adventure 2. Tons of fun and then some.

And because the Steam is downright sadistic with sales, I now own Far Cry 3. Busy weekend indeed...

Wait until you reach hard and above, Armstrong will be the bane of your existence. He played college ball ya know...

But since you finally got it, I have a question. Does Sam make any sense to you? I think I might have him figured, he's no ocelot, but he's a complex character do to lack of info, its all underlying tones, and I wanted a second opinion on his angle in Rising, what you thought of the guy.

GTAV
Uh-oh, Trevor knows michael's secret! Off to the airport! **** pizza! Good mission, real emotional too, surprisingly.

Bayonetta

Unlocked the climax brace, pillow talk, and Father Rodin...Oh my god...
Cheapest boss ever! 1 hit and...and...just watch:

Those skulls a previous attempts, and they keep stacking after 5...
This guy's just cheap...I will beat him...

Retro City Rampage
GAME BEATEN!
Ran through the story missions, all of which were drippimg with retro referential goodness. That last mission was an indescribable pain, however.took me nearly 2 hours to beat it. Overall, loved this game.

Witcher 2
Actively playing this now. Having relived the prologue, proceeded to escape from jail with my 2 compatriots and hide out in a backwater which happens to be a trading hub. Replaced my silver sword, met two new friends after saving them from the hangman, and met a female mage who apparently has history with my own mage character. Go figure.
currently running side missions. I'm now the local arm-wrestling champion and am currently checking out a cave where soldiers say a woman has been leading soldiers to ambush.

ZombiiU
Game was on sale for only $15 so picked it up (yay Black Friday clearance).
I'm actually enjoying this game. it's definitely survival-horror as it does great atmosphere and you actively want to avoid any battles with more than 1 zombie. that said, some cracks in the armor showing through but overall not bad at all.
I'm losing my survivors pretty fast. Down 7 survivors, 3 of which due to a zombie horde assaulting my safehouse and each new character starting with only a cricket bat and 6 bullets. currently outside Buckingham palace, having fled a turret section once i ran out of bullets.

Lost in Shadow
Up to 40F. this is back on my secondary completion list again.

I just ordered wonderful 101, BTW.

Going by the DLC, Sam was, initially, a vigilante with a strong sense of justice, right, and wrong, who really just wanted to take down Desperado. Then Armstrong met him, and the result left him so broken that all he could do was accept the job offer. Even then, while he had given up on his own ability to complete his mission, he didn't lose faith in Raiden. He recognized Raiden had immense skill, but was holding back due to his own ideals. Everything he did was to toughen Raiden up, and his final battle was to see if Raiden could finally beat him, with the prize being Muramasa.

Far Cry 3:
Escaped from a pirate camp, joined a significantly more friendly camp, skinned some animals, fixed a radio tower, and tried to save one of my friends except oh wait she hightailed it to another camp.

This game is Skyrim with guns and I'm loving it!

That's more or less what I thought, the only grey area being that rooftop scene. It was just weird, but I suppose your analysis is correct. Its the only thing that makes sense. Still, I hate Armstrong. Awesome boss, but crap, he's at least in my top 10 hardest bosses list, especially as Sam. Glad I didn't have to fight him as wolf...

Borderlands 2
I got a Flakker. Thats all really.

Fall of Cybertron.
Unlocked Glass Gas and the shock cannon or whatever its called. I cant seem to buy Glass Gas from teletran though.

Far Cry 3:
Killed Vaas and--dear Lord, enough with the Alice in Wonderland references! I know people think they make it seem deep, but if you've actually read the books and know the history behind them, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

Really excellent game, though.

Far Cry 3:
BEATEN! Went with the "save my friends" ending because Citra isn't nearly hot enough for me to pick the evil ending. She's hot, though, don't get me wrong.

Strike Suit Zero:
I've been eying this for a while, I just wasn't sure my computer would be able to handle it. Rolled the dice, dropped $10 on the sale, turns out I can run it and holy **** this game is awesome. At first it's just an actually-pretty-good space shooter. Then you get the Strike Suit itself and the ability to kill everything forever. Then you do that, and it is good.

Completed Lonesome Road. Not sure why this DLC is so celebrated. Don't get the sense this Ulysses guy is THAT important...

Still not finished with campaign in Pokemon Black 2. Very unenthused about this game. Training a Darumaka in the desert. Just like I did in the last game.
