George Lucas retires from film

Yea you probably know already, but for anyone who's lived under a rock for the past week, George Lucas is sick of all the negative feedback he gets for changing the Star Wars movies every few months and decided to retire from Star Wars, and Blockbusters. He's still going to do films, just nothing big, only smaller more personal films.
So what do you think?

I think any hope of the last three movies being made just vaporized...

Hell yeah!

Or, should we say:

If he's so upset with being criticised, then just do what fans have been asking for.

Original theatrical releases of Episodes 4-6 on Blu-Ray.

That's what fans want, we still have his altered versions thrust on us, but for those who grew up and saw the originals in cinemas, they want the originals! I know it's not what he wants but he should show a little respect to those who made him so damn rich and maybe then he'll get the respect he oh so clearly cries for.

On the plus side, a third trilogy without him would be awesome, but they really want to give that live action TV series off the ground.

I heard about this. I was pissed. I was really looking forward to another trilogy. Too bad the critics and fans had to complain about every damn thing. If you don't like it then just don't watch it. And to Lucas, if you see this is what people don't want then why the hell doesn't he just stop and move onto something new!? I mean it was ok the first time he changed the movies because it kept slow ass kids like me awake with the added CG, but every time after that was just freaking pointless. And I liked the prequels too...

He did not direct Empire, and look how a majority of the fandom believes that to be the greatest SW movie of all time (I know it is my favorite that is for sure) so him leaving the directing to someone else would be a plus..

Then maybe he should stop making them, or, as already said, release the original, unaltered versions of the films on Blu-Ray.

At least this means that Clone Wars is likely to be over soon. Anything that puts and end to that train wreck is to be applauded.

He said he's quitting Star Wars. That doesn't mean Star Wars itself is coming to an end.

People have been talking about a theoretical Sequel Trilogy for many, many years now. It was never going to happen. This isn't even the final nail in the coffin, this was a body Lucas buried years ago.

EDIT: It doesn't even say he's done with Star Wars as a whole, just that he's not making any more movies, nor will he re-release his old ones. Stamping his seal of approval on a book, or a script for Clone Wars, or a game, doesn't really count against what he says he's doing here.
