ok so i saw it on sat night. i like it alot. of course it could of been better. heck all movies could be better but anyways heres the few things i had a problem with the movie....and ya their spoilers if u havent seen it yet.

1: maybe because im an illustrator and have taken anatomy but it seemed like his skull was way to small and the body was way to be when we was GR. it just seem way to un proportionit

2: i was super happy when he got his chain but then when he started fighting with it was when i went wtf? ok at times the chain was double/triple/quadriple its length. like the helicopter scene? umm ya unless i dont know something about GR's powers that chain grew in legth multipul times.

3: black heart. ok i thought the guy who played his human form was awsome....but when we was at the end and ann beefed up it would of been kewl if he looked more like his comic book version.

4: the elements: they were lame badguys. the fights were to short with them and they didnt seem that hard to beat. but the way GR killed air was pretty smart. i would of never thought of that lol.

5: caretaker. i wish he actually fought in the movie....the scene where their riding together was awsome.

6: now this is y fault for being stupid. when i wa slooking at the toys they made a vengence figure for the movie so i thought " hey awsome hes gonna be in there also"...well he wasnt and i was a bit dissapoited lol

so thats it for me..atleast for now.. also anyone know the name of the song that they played in GR? i know it was a remake. it was played in the scene wiht caretaker and GR riding to the town then again as the first song in the credits...i wanna listen to it again

AFAIK, Ghost Rider's chain can do all sorts of crazy things in the comics, the least of which is changing length.

Ghost Rider in the Sky by Johnny Cash. The remake is by Spiderbait.

And for those who don't know who Spiderbait is you will if you click on this link and then Black Betty in their music player.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think you'd enjoy it. and not expecting much is usually a good thing, it leaves you free to take it for what it is.

Just saw it last night. Amazing. Just one question: Where was Stan Lee. He makes cameos in the Marvel movies. I didn't notice him. Must have been a real subtle cameo.

That was actually the main reason I wanted to see Ghost Rider, to see if Blackheart took on his big demonic form. But alas, he did not, but they portrayed the character well enough for me to like it anyway.

The fights were too short, but they were pretty cool anyway. About those Demons, I take it they were created just for the film?

One thing I loved about the movie was the effects. I thought they were outstanding, and enjoyed Ghost Rider's flame going blue when he was expressing emotion.

One comment was made that the lines were cheesy. Well, I'm not a hardcore Ghost Rider fanatic, but based on what I read of Ghost Rider from the 90's, that's how he talked. Ghost Rider isn't the Beast or Spider-Man, and didn't to have much of a wit or vocabulary other than "Vengence!!!" Voice was perfect, and thought they captured the character of Ghost Rider very well. Also, I really thought the use of a shotgun was good, cause that homages Blaze when he doesn't have the Ghost Rider powers anymore.

Speaking of characters, what was up with the monkey's and jellybeans? Did Johnny Blaze or Dan Ketch ever express any interest in that respect in the comics, or was that just something added to the movie?

And Mephisto was done very well, heck, he even looked pretty right for a move representation.

All in all, not my favorite Marvel movie, but certainly higher on my list than The Hulk or Elektra(I REALLY like Daredevil), and hope the DVD has some good special features.

I'm looking forward to the sequal, even though that won't be for a couple years or so. I would expect Vengence to appear in that.

They'd either go the vengeance route or have Jonny separated from Zarathos and trying to reunite in order to contain his power.

I noticed that they pretty much combined Johnny blaze and Danny Keitch's ghost riders for the movie, but I never realized how much more they added. I've been reading the original Ghost Rider comics and noticed a lot more nods. Examples, Carter slade was the night rider, a cowboy hero. There was a burning-head horse rider who was a bounty hunter sent after Johnny. The bike used in the movie is pretty much Vengeance's... etc. Wikipedia is your friend.

Awesome movie. Just a thought, did anyone else catch the Easyrider nod from Peter Fonda towards Johnny's americian flag gas tank?

I agree that the fights should have been longer. I guess they were there to show off how powerful the Ghost Rider is ,but the first and 3rd fights were so short and anti-climatic. I like the idea of lessening the beginning and making it more of a secret. Most of the dialog was mostly ok but the speech at the end was "Stan Lee esk" very over the top and IMO not fitting for a GR story.
I sort of had a problem with his stuff going really skull like and demonic ,but aparently it is in keeping with Vengence. I really have only read a few comics of the Johnny Blaze vrs and the early stuff for the early 90's vrs so I wasn't familar with Vengence.

BTW the guys that the Ghost Rider was sent against were nephilim not demons. They have one parent who is a human. Though depending on the source ,they are the demons not thier nonhuman parents, but I think that the movie was going with the them being different approach.

Liked the movie over all but not the invented "Nephilim". Kinda wanted better fights as a result. The last fight was fitting of the movies momentum and yes his closing lines are a bit of the Stan Lee experience (AKA non GR filler)
