It should be noted that the rerelease of Daredevil featured a much better edit of the overall movie as well as a substory which actually made the whole movie better.

Are you serious? More Daredevil crap to watch. God it was bad enough with the Electra spin off. At least they didn't make the whole thing an origins film. Of course none of Daredevil was as bad as Catwoman.

overall i thought the movie was pretty decent, but i had a few problems with it aside from what's already been mentioned:

1) there's more of him riding around on his bike than actually, y'know, fighting evil and stuff.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
2) the three elemental fights were way too short, especially the first one. what they had was awesome, i just wish the fights had lasted a bit longer before he beat them.

*DEFINITE SPOILERS*
they totally just left the whole thing about him being wanted by the police for the murders (and the prison escape, i'd assume) hanging. maybe they intended it that way for a sequel, but it felt more to me like they just forgot to resolve it.

We went to see it tonight and loved it. I can see some of the complaints you guys are pointing out, but I think the pluses out weighed the flaws. My big disappointment was not getting to see his mentor fight.

And for reference, we're passingly acquainted with Ghost Rider - not fanatics. So it's definately still good if you aren't a die hard fan.

Even if she's okay with the flaming skull part, I'd save it for DVD. The flaming skull may be kind of cartoony to a kid, but Blackheart is downright creepy, and what he does to people could give her some serious nightmares. Ergo, a smaller screen in a well lit, familiar room might be good...

Just got back from seeing it. Pretty good surprisingly. Some things bothered me though and they were glaring.

1. Ghost Riders lines were soooooooooooo cliche.
2. While I liked how they played off Blackheart I would have been even happier if we had seen a form similar to his comic version. The comic version is downright freaky looking and would have fit in well at the end.
3. The fights were pretty bad. I liked seeing the ole chain brought to good use but it was so little of buildup and then bam the guys were dead.

Theres a few other things but overall it was a much better movie than the theater cut of Daredevil. Plus Xarathos just having a ball when he was let loose was great.

Just got back from seeing it. The movie was awesome, nothing beats Nicholas Cage coming out to Crazy Train.

The lines and some of the scenes were corny, but it was awesome as hell.

The only things I didn't like was how Slade was built up to help Ghost Rider, then just ran off, also I was kind of angry that Vengeance wasn't in the film, yet he has a toy in the movie line(to which is attributed that he'll be a boss in the Ghost Rider movie video game, but it still sucks.)

Kind of dumb, but I still had a good time. Same complaints of everyone else concerning the fights.

I think the whole first twenty minutes should have been cut. It should have started with the prologue of Carter Slade, then the credits, then gone straight to Crazy Train and Nicholas Cage as the main character with a deep dark secret that only becomes clear as the movie goes on. That would have made it soooo much better. I hate being hit over the head with a 2x4 at the movies.

Also, he just should have been silent in Ghost Rider form. End of discussion.
Buy my RiD toys! They're awesome, I promise!!!!

You guys keep saying that the fights with the three Elemental demons were too short, I agree with the wind guy since he was wind, but what do you expect is going to happen when the Earth and Water demons are put on fire.

I still think it was a pretty good movie of the character and I am crossing my fingers for a sequel. It seems that things would get a lot better and some of the issues some of you bring up would be resolved.

I saw it last night and had a great time. It was fantabulous. Honestly, I didn't go into the theatre with high expectations just because the main character has a freaking flaming skull for a head, and to be honest, I thought it would cheezy. There's really no good way to do a flaming skull as some things just don't transfer from comics to the big screen very well. I have to say that I was proven completely wrong. The only gripes I have about the movie are 1) I think it should have been more violent and given an R-rating just because the character is a violent character, like Blade and The Punisher (both of whom have an R-rated movie or 3). 2) I think there was too much comedic crap for a movie like this. Case in point, the fat goth chick doing the interview. I rest my case.

I agree with the goth chick interview part especially since it made me wonder why later when Johnny tries to tell Roxie about the creature he just says a creature. He was there and knew that she heard that talk from that girl; the lines there should have been written with him bringing that interview up.
