Thank you so much but it could've been so much better. I wanted to ask him about his music and earlier days in comics but he sent an email to Justin my co-host setting parameters. I do think we touched some new ground that other sites haven't but, I can't help but wonder what if.

Still, I don't think I've heard Larry on many podcasts. But you're right that the show covered information that's new to me. I've only seen him talk on DVD bonus features like the cartoon boxset and Code Name: Blast Off but they usually cover the same ground.

I got a Techno-Viper and bought the regular Cobra Trooper from Renegades, despite not digging the aesthetic too much. The thing that sold me on it was the swappable head. Love the Techno-Viper, like the Trooper, hate his big, block gun. Junk!
Just an hour ago I got the Cobra ripcord bike from RoC, clearanced at TrU for like $5. I think it's called the Tiger Snake.
Just for my own info, can you remove that plastic vest the Joe figures wear? Without breaking it I suppose. If so, does anyone? Kinda curious.

Most of the vests, if not all of them, have a snap on the side to take it off. The only thing I've ever had to do is pop the head off.

I read Classic GI Joe Volumes 10 through 13, collecting #91 to #130. Large chunks of comics that I read in about a month.

Quick thoughts...

Sgt. Slaughter isn't a big deal in this universe. That's pretty shocking considering his cartoon presence.

I love this gag.

The Trucial Abysmia arc is an intense arc. It’s interesting to read it and think about its place in comics history. It’s a pretty violent book pre-Image and The Death of Superman.

Silly looking character. However his fate really got to me.
Image

The Snake Eyes Trilogy is probably my new favorite GI Joe story, right next to the Silent Interlude.

#120 was an early comic I had as a kid. I can now see how it's heavily referencing #21. Really cool stuff.

I love this issue because I had a majority of the figures and vehicles that were featured in this issue like the Battle Copters, Combat Gliders, and Paralyzer.
Image

The neon colored toys aren't as garishly colored in the comics. As ridiculous as the sub groups like the DEF, Eco-Warriors, and Ninja Force may seem, I still love it.

Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes, swords drawn, riding tanks. Insanely cool.
Image

I had to look up this figure. I didn’t know that there was a GI Joe RC toy.
Image

Great splash page of Snake-Eyes. Even the Red Ninjas are wielding Uzis!
Image

It’s interesting to notice the later issues have less pages. It drops from 22 to 20. I wonder if it’s because of those profiles they had in the back.

On a side note, I took a good look at that Best of Larry Hams hardcover. Tempting since it's Absolute sized but the coloring in the later issues aren't good. They 're scanned and not remastered like the paperbacks so the half tone dots are distracting.

Really have to get back to reading those volumes. I have a bunch of them and need to read them.

Got my copies of GI Joe: Yearbook and Classic GI Joe Volume 14 paperbacks.

Volume 14 also collects issues from my childhood, the GI Joe/G2 crossover! I hope IDW eventually puts out the Transformers: G2 paperbacks.

I thought the solicitation mentioned it would include the first GI Joe/Transformers crossover mini-series but I guess I read it wrong. I hope they place it somewhere.

GI Joe meets Danger Girl... just take my money now, IDW.

Image

“CROSSOVER OF THE CENTURY ALERT: DANGER GIRL and GI JOE are teaming up! Campbell! Hartnell! Royle! Barber! Dunbier!” were the only words accompanying the artwork seen above, featuring Danger Girl Abbey Chase dressed as the Baroness. No further details were shared, but I’m betting we find out more this weekend at C2E2.
