Giant Warning Number 2: replacement parts

I just received set C and when I looked at the replacement part for notLong Haul I thought I'd better post a warning. I haven't seen Duckett's latest review as I wanted to make my own discoveries about these two figures so I don't know if he mentions this.

The original front part of notLong Haul has two bulges that force the hinge into breakage. The replacement part has one bulge per side. Whilst this is an improvement I don't think it's enough and I fear this will break after a few transformations. I pushed it about half way and it felt so stiff that I'm going to shave the bulge off before using this part. I can assure you that the bulge isn't necessary to hold the two positions.

Best of luck with this guys!

I thought the same thing when I looked at mine. I just finished shaving the bulge from the original part and it works fine. The only other difference I noticed in the replacement part is that they reinforced the middle part where the pin goes into. It's still may not be enough to prevent any plastic breakage so folks should take care when folding the waist parts in.

I've replaced mine with the fixed version with one "bulge" as per the OP. No issues.

I hope that continues to be the case, I just worry that it will break in time.

I never received replacement parts for not-Long Haul in my second issue/re-stock Neckbreaker. Right now though, I'm more concerned w/ my not-Mixmaster's barrel not fitting in the rear-end harness. Is this a problem exclusive to the second run of Madblender/not-Mixmaster?

This is for Maketoy's Giant - Set C. You're referring to TFC's.

In Devastator mode, my Madblender is having the same issues. I have the first release of it. I believe it has to do with the 180 degree turning of the joint towards the front of MB when going from vehicle to leg modes and vice versa. The rear-end harness will sit over the connector while in leg mode, but doesn't sit as flush as when the front joint is flipped over. Not too big of an issue to me.

Yes I am. My apologies. I did not realize this was for Giant.

My barrel has that issue no matter which way it is turned. Perhaps I should start a new topic on this since it's the wrong combiner set topic?

Yes you should, because people that have Herc but don't have Giant probably won't look here [cos they read the title! ) and won't know that you need help.
