Heck, I wouldn't mind the news job with LittlePonyLand as long as I don't have to buy any figures related to it. Sometimes I'm morally conscious when buying Transformers.. imagine how I'd feel when taking LPL to the cashiers XD.

I'm gonna stick with what I know, which is Transformers and G.I. Joe (maybe a smidge of Star Wars), Blurrz you and the purple ponies can have some fun times together if you so choose.

You know the more I think about it the cooler I find the idea of a Twilight site, I mean I could troll it with pictures of real Vampires doing Vampire stuff or by using something similar to this as my sig on there.

Why a Twilight fansite Ryan? It seems out of place and no one here really likes it.

I mean there are other fandoms that need some more love: Exosquad, MASK, Robotech, Voltron, Gundam, and Macross, just to name a few. If you want to a vampire fan site then make about vampires in general. Hell I would rather see a Sherlock Holmes fansite than a Twilight fansite.

Because he is looking to gain users that are not from this site, people that are actually interested in Twilight.

But why focus ONLY (which is what it seems to me that he's doing, if I'm wrong I'm sorry) on Twilight? There are plenty of other vampire novels, movies, TV shows, comics, and video games out there limiting it to one series seems like a waste of time, especially since the audience that currently likes Twilight will grow up and move on to other things and leave Twilight in the dust.

Becuase it's a niche site. Just like you don't see seibertron.com cover robotech, voltron, gundam, etc.

I hate to say it but there are already sites like Siebertron that are dedicated to GI Joe. GeneralsJoes, Hisstank, and theterrordrome all fill the need for Joe fans. I don't think GICobra would attract people from those sites. With that said knowing the gang that inhabits the Joe forum here having a whole site to ourselves could be really fun.

As a GI Joe fan, I have to disagree. Ther are other Joe sites but the only one that comes close to having a Seibertron.com atmosphere is Yojoe.com and the news coverage there in general is pretty lacking compared to our standards.

HISSTANK in particular really lacks in terms of "community" and is more of "my collection is better than yours" and "this figure sucks and that figure sucks"

Well YoJoe I look at like TFU.info in that it's solely for cataloging purposes, a visual database if you will. That's funny you said that about hisstank since their site in design looks so close to siebertrons. The forums are run on a different server though.

I'm not talking about site design, I'm talking about the way members treat other members, and all the whining and bickering going on.

YoJoe.com used to be the most active Joe forum there was a few years ago. At the time it had a lot of great posters and a lot of immature ones. Now it's not nearly as "active" as some of the others but the quality of conversation on the forums is just awesome. If you have a question there about something Joe related, you totally get treated with respect and you get real knowledge in response to questions, not just bloated opinions. I feel GICobra.com could bring a lot of those same things to the table but where we could step it up a level (or three) is with the news coverage. YoJoe has minimal at best news coverage, and if you've been following Seibertron.com for any length of time, you know that news is one of the things we do best.

Terror Drome has a fairly solid news site. One thing that is also big with the Joe boards is reviews. I guess the big question, at least for me is, will a site like JoeCobra attract posters from the other sites? As it is now we only have a handful of members who post on the Joe thread here and a handful isn't enough to sustain a whole site. Another thing to keep in mind is that the guys who run Hisstank or theterrordrome only have those sites to run, will someone handle day to day operations of JoeCobra or will it be second fiddle to Siebertron?

Well Hisstank is the same guys as TFW2005. (makes sense in many ways)

Terrordrome is where I've been going for most my news information, and it is possible that if GICobra has the same level of news coverage that Seibs has then it is possible to outdo that. A bit sad but seeing that Ryan had the domain for GICobra a while back, if he had been able to get it running back then we could have beaten TerrorDrome to the news front.

for gicobra to make a dent quickly and gain a level of following, I think we need to see:
-- Forums run in a similar vein to these. that to a certain degree is in our hands, as we know how things work here, and need to set the bar.
-- The news crew will have to both get the big stories fast and post more than other sites have been.
-- The only current real thing that keeps Yojoe in hits is the figure gallery. Honestly if Ryan has the ability or can line someone up to supply a gallery similar to the ones we have here for TF's, then we can blow that out of the water.

I never knew that about Hisstank and tfw2005. I use Yo Joe like I use tfu.info; go to find the figure then look for pretty pics elsewhere.
