This isn't exactly a Trypticon redeco. The G1 version had a dual laser on it's forehead while this has a retooled horn.
Now, as far as the BW Neo Japan vs Korean packaging...
Both figures are exactly the same, however a Korean box will on average run you considerably less money.
Both are official just one is a later release(the Korean box), so realy it breaks down to your personal preference. Do you care more about text on a box, or a better value on a terrific figure.
I have the G1 version, so I skipped Gigastorm. However I purchased Big Convoy, Break vs Dead End, and several other figures in their Korean package. Personaly, with the figures being the same, I have to say on several occasions I admire the Korean box art more. Plus seeming as how most boxes forgo the plastic window they do store better too.
If your going for bragging rights, spend more money on the Japanesse version. However if you're looking for a great bot at a fairer price, go with the Korean version. In the end, 20yrs from now, they'd value about the same anyway!
