I did not bought much from 3rd party. They are so expensive and there's so much official Transformers to buy. The only ones I have are Delicate Warrior and Hegemon. I bought these so I can have my show accurate G1 Arcee and Megatron. Yes, I do know that the main reason to buy 3rd party is to have these classics in toy form.

Still, Transformers is more than just G1. There's so many universes to explore, so many characters without toys.

Just for the Bayverse, people wish for a leader Blackout and DotM Megatron for a long time. 3rd party would be the way to go if anyone would bother to do them. Obscure G1 characters have been made like that kunoichi cyborg or the Quinteson's bailiff. So, why not make Beast Machine's Botanica? How about a show accurate Beast Wars Blackarachnia?

So, what is the figure from a 3rd party company you wish for that is NOT from G1?

For me, I will gladly pay hard cash for a Leader movie Blackout, a Leader DotM Megatron, and a fully transformable Animated Elita-One. Oh yeah, because Devastator is so popular, why not having an Animated Devastator combiner with ALL the Animated constructicons?

How about these for the Bayverse:

Jungle Strike Bumblebee (green camo deco)

Artic Frost Bumblebee (Ice blue faded to clear plastic deco)

Molten Flameblast Bumblebee (red deco with flames)

Breast Cancer Awareness Bumblebee (pink with ribbons on the doors)

(Then make a line of Primes in the same deco)

Seriously, I cant think of many meaningful Bayverse characters that didnt get a figure except for Dino (Mirage) and the other two Dreads. And if you count the cancelled Target release of DOTM deluxe Leadfoot, that makes four. Do you want a Transforming soda machine ???

First and Foremost..

LEADER BLACKOUT!

HA Topspin figure, or kit, to complete the Wreckers.
Voyager sized Dreads, either walking, or Hatchet version.
Dino
Leader Prime accurate DOTM Jet pack kit

When It comes to Beast Wars.. eh that's hard to imagine, the CGI renders weren't very complicated, as were the robot bodies. I think if we just got a replacement head 3rd P offering for the bot modes that would better then original, but as far as making better figures? You'd have to sacrifice a mode, and that would render the point useless.

I'd rather see completely new and original designs based on the fluid design of Transformers, with the real world counter parts, like a G1 meets Micheal Bay. Vehicle forms very detailed, bot forms blockier, and g1-esque.

lets see...

a actual Space shuttle, that looks like the real Shuttle, but transforms into.. Sky Lynx, make the Fuel tank and boosters turn into Lynx.

g2 Megatron using the M1 Abrams

Heck, If TFC just painted the Uranus Jets with real world colors, I'd be all over them.

I'm done with G1 colors, give me some new characters, make them actually be disguised.

Jeez, so much Bayverse is yet to be made.
Where are you when everyone is clamoring for a Leader Blackout and a Leader DotM Megatron?

At that list, I could add Human Alliance DotM Topspin, Human Alliance DotM Crankcase and I want my freacking Cyberverse DotM Driller (Shockwave's pet) that is in scale.

On second thought, so much greatness from DotM have not been made into toy.

By the way, that failed Bumblebee joke would have worked if the topic was about "what do you think is coming from Hasbro".

The characters you named all have figures. (except driller) The problem is you dont like the size that Hasbro chose to release them in. Im talking about characters that have seen no figures at all.

And anyone who mentions Bayverse toys gets an automatic Bumblebee joke...

True that. I could still say the same about most G1 characters that have been made into 3rd party. People want them a certain way and are ready to pay a premium for that. G1 Devastator was a great figure by itself, yet HasTak made a few remakes of it and there's at least TWO classic Devastator figures on 3rd party. Why? People wanted it bigger, more detailed, and more articulations. Me and others want Blackout, Megs, and Topspin bigger for the same reasons.

As for the Bumblebee joke, lemme tell you it apply a lot to TF Prime too. Especially in Canada... sigh...

I understand your point. But the big difference between Hasbro classics Devy and TFC Hercules is cartoon accuracy. Voyager Blackout is movie accurate. I guess Hasbro didnt feel he was important enough to get a leader class figure. (dont ask me about leader class Brawl)

The reason I dont collect TF Prime is because it is just Bayverse all over again but for kids. All the way down to Bumblebees stupid unfixable voicebox. And how is it Ironhide isnt even in the cartoon and he has an original mold ? But no repaint of Skyquake or an original Smokescreen mold ?

You're in luck friend, TFC's Uranus will have "not slingshot" which is a AV-8B Harrier II, so one is coming.. just in g1 style colors.

I agree with Prime Bee. Why he still bleep? AND THEY MAKE HIM BLEEP IN FOC! Jeez Bee's talking was not THAT annoying in G1... Still, I like the Prime desing. It's a perfect blend of all of the TF universes.
Also, it's just a matter of time before Ironhide enter the cartoon and Smokescreen, the toys. By the way, Prime is not so "for kids" as you might think. It's the first time in TF Cartoon history that we have so much graphic TF death on screen and human death off screen.

Voyager Blackout is nice, but it's not really movie accurate. Especially the backpack. Beside, he's WAY too small.

By the way.... 3rd parties CAN make Bayverse figures that never appeared on screen and/or are not supposed to exist in that universe. I want THAT in leader size:

Non-G1 isn't really my thing at all, but I might be persuaded to support a Mountain Dew bot. Hell, maybe two! The in-movie version as the evil one and the game version as the good one.

Beast Wars is tough. Mainly because animal Transformers are tough. Plus they all have fairly decent toys already, don't they? Not really a BW collector. A screen accurate Black Arachnia might be good, though. And a nicer TM2 Megatron.

IMO, Bayverse is generally sub-standard when it comes to quality and aesthetic. The toys suck, with the exception of the Leaders and Voyager Shockwave. My #1 choice for this wish list would be a Leader Class DotM Megatron. It's not just a glaring hole in my collection, but a glaring hole in the line as a whole. I know it will never happen, because Hasbro owns the likeness, and they seriously dropped the ball with the lack of this figure. It also drove the price of RoTF Leader Megatron way up.

#2 would be the upgrade kit that is apparently now dead in the water from G1 Uppers, which would have made the BotCon exclusive Animated Stunticons into Menasor. I do see maybe a glimmer of hope for this, depending on how the newly announced upcoming Predaking will turn out.

The only 3rd Party product I'd like to see from the Bayverse would be a proper Devastator with all the Constructicons that could transform from robot to vehicle to giant-ass robot.

Yeah, pretty much anything and everything from the Unicron trilogy would be a welcome addition to my collection. As a whole those lines weren't too bad, but a number of key figures were really lacking in articulation. And as far as gimmicks go I actually liked all three series'. I'd like to see a 3rd party Tigerhawk too. Again the figure he got wasn't too bad but I feel he deserved better.

But what I really want to see from a 3rd party is some Power Ranger Zords. I love some of the concepts they come out with, but the figures suck. The articulation could be massively improved and probably could do with a bit of an upgrade from their child friendly appearance. These I would love.

I'd love to see some 3rd party Beast Wars love. There's a ton of characters that never got proper figures from Has/Tak.

I'd actually like to see some clever engineer work out how to make the beast modes more accurate, exposing less (or no) robot bits in beast mode while retaining fully accurate bot modes.

If someone would perhaps use molded soft rubber instead of plastic for the beast parts, that would likely help as it could be molded around the bot mode parts to allow figures like Rhinox to look like they should in bot mode instead of having a big plastic rhino leg hanging off his arms.

Accurate weapons for Beast Wars would be nice as well. I keep scouring Shapeways but can't find anything in the way of anything for Beast Wars except a Golden Disc that someone made, which is unnecessary thanks to Unicron.com's set.

You know what'd be nice?

An extendable handle for the Star Saber (and other toys with the same peg) so that newer figures with open hands or fully articulated fingers can hold them. For instance, I got FP's upgraded Superion holding the Energon Saber, but it required a LOT of clear elastics and patience to do so. Of course it's a bit too heavy for him, but even so. A longer handle would be nice.

Any Bayverse character not made by Hasbro is a direct result of Hasbro's choices on what they claim kids want most. (or in my opinion, Hasbro brainwashes kids as to what they should like best) To be honest, before Bayverse, Bumblebee wasnt s**t since 1984. He didnt even get a homage in the Unicron Trilogy or a likeness in Beast Wars. (Ratrap was no Bumblebee, more like a Cliffjumper)

While some of the more obscure characters getting a figure would be cool, the cash value just isnt there for 3rd party companies. Most collectors want G1. I started out as a hardcore Bayverse collector back in 2007. It was Bayverse that led me back into collecting where I discovered the existance of the Classics line. Since then most of my Bayverse figures are packed away in boxes to make room for classics.

I also wanted to point out that I dont see updated versions of the characters from the Unicron Trilogy coming out from 3rd parties anytime soon. These are just my opinions but heres why I think that:

1. By the time the Unicron Trilogy toy lines came out, Hasbro had started giving their figures ball joints, rotating necks, bendable knees etc. Whats left to improve ? The Unicron Trilogy figures are so good, TFCC frequently repaints them into classics figures. Universe 2.0 Hotshot was awesome but what am I gonna do with one updated figure ? Makes a great classics Dion though.

2. Most all of the Unicron Trilogy characters on the cartoons got a figure. Even the Alpha Quintison. The problem is Hasbro kept pumping out figures (and molds) that had nothing to do with the Unicron Trilogy cartoons under the Armada, Energon, and Cybertron lines. Im not sure if these non-cartoon characters made comic appearances, but without fiction they will always be low priorty to most collectors.

3. Not a big collectors market for the Unicron Trilogy yet. 7-8 year olds who grew up with those cartoons are probally in high school or just started college by now. They havent reached that late 20's, early 30's age that allows a suitable income for a hardcore collector. Especially at 3rd party prices.

Once again, these are my personal opinions. But they do seem to make sense to me at least.

Like Rated X said, the 3rd Party Companies work the same way as Hasbro and Takara. Money speak first. That's why only the most wanted characters will make it.

We can probably forget the Unicron Trilogy (Even if Armada is one huge brickfest in need of serious updates). Forget Beast Wars too.

One thing that is higly probable is some key missing figures from the movieverse. Leader Blackout is already rumored and a Leader DotM Megatron is very likely. Because there's no official Leader Megs, the price of the RotF one skyrocketed. Even the poopy 2007 version is way more expensive than before. So that mean there's a demand and where is a deman, there's money to be made.

However, I dont really have my hopes up for my other wants. Even a HA Topspin.

I gotta disagree on Beast Wars. I believe the market is there and the timing is right. The kids who grew up with Beast Wars are now at that age where they have cash to spend and Has/Tak isn't doing anything to scratch that Beast Wars itch.

I agree the timing is about right for Beast Wars homages. Trouble is 3rd parties cant do it alone without Hasbro providing the core figures. 3rd parties should be filling in Hasbro's gaps, not the other way around. We had Cheetor and Dinobot, but then they stopped. Kind of hard to start a trend with only 2 existing "neo" figures.

Yep, but most of the Beast Wars figures are decent enough. It's mainly the season 1 cast that really needs help. Tarantulas, Blackarachnia, Tigatron, Airazor, Rhinox, Terrorsaur, Scorponok etc. that really didn't match up with the toys. Seasons 2 and 3 are largely accurate (though not always).

I don't think Blackarachnia's proportions are possible to do without cheating out the ass. Most everybody else had decent enough toys, since the show models deviated less from the toys than in G1. Some simplifications here and there, removal or shrinkage of kibble, but by and large the toys were the show characters. I think the only glaring update we need is a replacement arm for BW Megatron, since he had an actual hand in the show.
