Right, so we want 3rd party figures in the right sizes..

Dino, Dread #2 and #3, Garbage Truck Decepticon from DOTM, Generic Decepticon drone, Brains, Mt. Non-G1 isn't really my thing at all, but I might be persuaded to support a Mountain Dew bot. Hell, maybe two! The in-movie version as the evil one and the game version as the good one.

Beast Wars is tough. Mainly because animal Transformers are tough. Plus they all have fairly decent toys already, don't they? Not really a BW collector. A screen accurate Black Arachnia might be good, though. And a nicer TM2 Megatron.

IMO, Bayverse is generally sub-standard when it comes to quality and aesthetic. The toys suck, with the exception of the Leaders and Voyager Shockwave. My #1 choice for this wish list would be a Leader Class DotM Megatron. It's not just a glaring hole in my collection, but a glaring hole in the line as a whole. I know it will never happen, because Hasbro owns the likeness, and they seriously dropped the ball with the lack of this figure. It also drove the price of RoTF Leader Megatron way up.

#2 would be the upgrade kit that is apparently now dead in the water from G1 Uppers, which would have made the BotCon exclusive Animated Stunticons into Menasor. I do see maybe a glimmer of hope for this, depending on how the newly announced upcoming Predaking will turn out.

The only 3rd Party product I'd like to see from the Bayverse would be a proper Devastator with all the Constructicons that could transform from robot to vehicle to giant-ass robot.

Yeah, pretty much anything and everything from the Unicron trilogy would be a welcome addition to my collection. As a whole those lines weren't too bad, but a number of key figures were really lacking in articulation. And as far as gimmicks go I actually liked all three series'. I'd like to see a 3rd party Tigerhawk too. Again the figure he got wasn't too bad but I feel he deserved better.

But what I really want to see from a 3rd party is some Power Ranger Zords. I love some of the concepts they come out with, but the figures suck. The articulation could be massively improved and probably could do with a bit of an upgrade from their child friendly appearance. These I would love.

I'd love to see some 3rd party Beast Wars love. There's a ton of characters that never got proper figures from Has/Tak.

I'd actually like to see some clever engineer work out how to make the beast modes more accurate, exposing less (or no) robot bits in beast mode while retaining fully accurate bot modes.

If someone would perhaps use molded soft rubber instead of plastic for the beast parts, that would likely help as it could be molded around the bot mode parts to allow figures like Rhinox to look like they should in bot mode instead of having a big plastic rhino leg hanging off his arms.

Accurate weapons for Beast Wars would be nice as well. I keep scouring Shapeways but can't find anything in the way of anything for Beast Wars except a Golden Disc that someone made, which is unnecessary thanks to Unicron.com's set.

You know what'd be nice?

An extendable handle for the Star Saber (and other toys with the same peg) so that newer figures with open hands or fully articulated fingers can hold them. For instance, I got FP's upgraded Superion holding the Energon Saber, but it required a LOT of clear elastics and patience to do so. Of course it's a bit too heavy for him, but even so. A longer handle would be nice.

Any Bayverse character not made by Hasbro is a direct result of Hasbro's choices on what they claim kids want most. (or in my opinion, Hasbro brainwashes kids as to what they should like best) To be honest, before Bayverse, Bumblebee wasnt s**t since 1984. He didnt even get a homage in the Unicron Trilogy or a likeness in Beast Wars. (Ratrap was no Bumblebee, more like a Cliffjumper)

While some of the more obscure characters getting a figure would be cool, the cash value just isnt there for 3rd party companies. Most collectors want G1. I started out as a hardcore Bayverse collector back in 2007. It was Bayverse that led me back into collecting where I discovered the existance of the Classics line. Since then most of my Bayverse figures are packed away in boxes to make room for classics.

I also wanted to point out that I dont see updated versions of the characters from the Unicron Trilogy coming out from 3rd parties anytime soon. These are just my opinions but heres why I think that:

1. By the time the Unicron Trilogy toy lines came out, Hasbro had started giving their figures ball joints, rotating necks, bendable knees etc. Whats left to improve ? The Unicron Trilogy figures are so good, TFCC frequently repaints them into classics figures. Universe 2.0 Hotshot was awesome but what am I gonna do with one updated figure ? Makes a great classics Dion though.

2. Most all of the Unicron Trilogy characters on the cartoons got a figure. Even the Alpha Quintison. The problem is Hasbro kept pumping out figures (and molds) that had nothing to do with the Unicron Trilogy cartoons under the Armada, Energon, and Cybertron lines. Im not sure if these non-cartoon characters made comic appearances, but without fiction they will always be low priorty to most collectors.

3. Not a big collectors market for the Unicron Trilogy yet. 7-8 year olds who grew up with those cartoons are probally in high school or just started college by now. They havent reached that late 20's, early 30's age that allows a suitable income for a hardcore collector. Especially at 3rd party prices.

Once again, these are my personal opinions. But they do seem to make sense to me at least.

Like Rated X said, the 3rd Party Companies work the same way as Hasbro and Takara. Money speak first. That's why only the most wanted characters will make it.

We can probably forget the Unicron Trilogy (Even if Armada is one huge brickfest in need of serious updates). Forget Beast Wars too.

One thing that is higly probable is some key missing figures from the movieverse. Leader Blackout is already rumored and a Leader DotM Megatron is very likely. Because there's no official Leader Megs, the price of the RotF one skyrocketed. Even the shitty 2007 version is way more expensive than before. So that mean there's a demand and where is a deman, there's money to be made.

However, I dont really have my hopes up for my other wants. Even a HA Topspin.
THIS will have to do for now:
