It's actually vague enough that he could be the G1 Icepick.

Backfire transforms into a CPC, so you could call him any G1 targetmaster you wanted to.

Thunderhead is like a perfected Scrapmetal/Cobybot.

there's bound to be a minicon that Sandstorm can double as.

Whirl is just too awesome not to own.

Tailpipe is a MASK vehicle. I cannot think of any other homage for him.

True, but his colors are more similar to the PCC line's Icepick. Plus, I was always under the assumption that the PCC line was a subline of the movie-verse.

I bought PCC Icepick on clearance to repaint his counterpart into Fracas...the Icepick fig is sh*t, though. If the HA fig is an homage, he probably sucks, too.

Actually, the Icepick HA figure is REALLY good. It has great bot mode articulation and it gets tons of bonus points for being a Snowmobile (or whatever they're called). However, I think the PCC Icepick is awesome, so take my opinion as you will.

I like the Rollbar idea, that could defintely work. Interesting suggestions, guys, keep 'em coming! So far I'm pretty sure I want at least Sandstorm and Whirl.

Nope, HA Icepick is a Decepticon too. So far, he's the only Decepticon in the HA line for DotM, but Dragstrip will change that.

Yeah, I think PCC Salvage's bio related to Movie Salvage from the 07 movie.

@^:He's still not worse than that ROTF Scout Class RV guy, and personally I think IcePick's Bot mode's worse, but I don't own either.

TailPipe looks pretty cool to me, if I get any he'll be the first. Cool-ish head sculpt, decent bot mode, and a cheap little TargetMaster gimmick. Too bad his "weapon mode" is pretty...terrible.

Here's why I buy em.
HAs go great with Alternators (remember those?) They provide human companions for Alternators and MP Optimus Prime. So for no other reason, buy em for the humans.

I'm not super interested in them. I just had an idea to buy them, and paint them like tron guys or something. Like black with neon highlights.
Transformers with drives doesn't really appeal to me. I don't really collect human toys. Though, if I could make the humans like, robots or something else, maybe I'd like them.

they come with a tiny human that looks similar to a G.I Joe 3 inch toy. so if your also a G.I Joe fan & buy the G.I Joe toys, then this HA basic line is perfect for you.

Personally I don't buy any legends, nor basic/scout sized TF toys. I'm extremly picky with the new mold deluxes toys I buy. I'm more of a bigger sized TF toys buyer like voyager's,ultra's & leader's sizes.

Finally got my first two HA guys from the fine folks at Kapow Toys.

Y'know, I thought they looked like they'd be a lot of fun, that they'd have cool weapons and plenty of features but I was wrong. They have all that and more!

I got Sandstorm (more like Grassstorm...but the greens aren't nearly as strong as the official packaging shots suggest. the lighter green is an almost pastel colour, nothing like the neon on the packaging art, a big improvement, and the darker green is less of a forest green than a guacamole green. this stands out much more on the black, and blends well with the lighter, yellowy green and the silvery-grey plastic on the arms.

I'd caved on this guy because the design looked so nice, despite the colours putting me off, and am very pleasantly surprised at how good he does look in person. In his packaged robot mode he's just a plain cool bot, tons of articulation, an okay gun and a pretty good headsculpt for a movie toy. The colorscheme on the head is pretty much the same as the box art, and I'm not sure that really does it for me, but it does definitely have character, the mostly black head with his little silver nose/mouth piece not looking like another rip-off of Prime's design, the red crest looking kind of like war-paint maybe? There's a bit of a BW Depth Charge feel about the head, but with these colours on this body, it makes it look a bit sinister.

The dune buggy alt mode is nice enough. It fits the human guy in pretty well, everything locks statisfyingly in place and the rollbars (another good alternate name for him) provide ample mounting points for and clip-on weapons should you choose to arm this guy to the teeth. I have to confess I haven't actually put him into Wheelchair Of Doom mode yet, instead opting to adapt the robot mode into a sort of Power-Loader/War-suit by flipping the seat down and the canopy on top. I think this looks much better, although the artillery platform does resemble a GI Joe weapon that was out in the 80s so I might give it a go one day.

The human alliance part of the toy - Private Dedcliff is okay. He's the first HA human I've owned, and honestly, in my head he was bigger. The initial disappointment at the size of the figure soon disappeared, as he's really quite articulated. Other than elbow joints, which I admit would be a struggle to fit in there, he's much better than I'd expect for his size and looks good next to the robot, or interacting with him as a driver or "wearer" in the mech mode. He actually has a fair amount of detail on his outfit, including a little Autobot symbol on his left sleeve. Just a shame they didn't paint the back of his vest. The head sculpt has a lot of detail as well, but sadly, the proportions, and a dodgy paintjob on the eyes make him look a bit "special".

Overall, a solid figure, that stands about mid-chest to most deluxes, but doesn't seem to sacrifice any engineering for the size. Paint apps aren't flashy or overly intricate or complicated, but it's getting that way with a lot, and they've done very well with what they've had to make this look good. Great value for money, and highly recommended, 8 out of 10 Energon Cubes!

Thanks for the review. I do like the mold, but yeah, the green is way ligher in person! I dunno if that's going to work for the G1 Rollbar homage. I do wish he was orange instead, then the Sandstorm homage would actually work. I might just wait for a sale because these figures are the same price as deluxes here. :o

I got Thunderhead too. Might do a review of him later, but right now I'll say this: he's not a version of Action Master Rollout, he's a version of Rollout's partner, Glyph. There's a mode that's spot-on for an updated version. I hope this is a sign that we will get a fully transforming Rollout in the future. He looked like he'd have been a cool Transformer.

I can't, really, other than the humans themselves. I bought Backfire and he's a load of crap with a old cherry on top. I've watched reviews and Thunderhead and Whirl look like they are the last 2 basics I will be getting, because the rest are (REDUNDANCY!!!) loads of crap with old cherries on top.

Yeah, some of the little HA guys are kinda crappy, but they're fun and come with cool weapons. I really liked Whirl and DragStrip, but Sandstorm/HalfTrack is def my fave. The snowmobile one was ****, but the three-wheelers was at least good for a leader-sized gun, but the robot sucked.
