Would it be possible a notification system for when someone quotes your post? Ex. usage: I post something on a front page'd thread of, say first in-hand images, but don't want to trawl through 10+ pages to see if someone has a response to my thoughts.

Hm. That's an interesting idea. Not sure how it would be implemented. It'll be something I think of for a while on the back burner.

Posting images is not possible with my iPad. What with Seibertron himself working to make the site better for mobile surfing, I figure this is something good to bring up.

I'm pretty sure this is an inherent problem with iOS.

It does look like there are some other browser options though that you might be able to try. If anyone has some suggestions, please let us know. Thanks!

Request for 3rd party coverage on Seibertron News:
This has probably already been discussed at length but I figure I'll give my two cents and increase the sample size (or fuel the fire?). Sorry if this is beating a dead horse...

I am disappointed that the news no longer covers 3rd party items. I understand that there is an ethical debate about this and I can respect opinions on both sides. However, I for one am interested in what is happening with 3rd party products, even though I don't buy a whole lot of them due to price. Some of them just look really cool! Largely I am interested in this stuff for the same reasons why I like the Creative Roundup. But due to the lack of 3rd party coverage, I find myself frequenting Seibertron.com much less and instead rely on other TF sites for my news. This makes me a little sad since Seibertron was really my gateway into this hobby and has unrivaled photo galleries that have helped me with a lot of buying decisions over the years.

I can understand why the photo galleries of 3rd party figures have stopped since it is just too costly to buy all the 3rd party stuff. But I would appreciate if the news covered third party figures and reviews etc.

Thank you for your compliments about Seibertron.com. I'm glad that it brought you into the foray of Transformers fansites.

I understand your passion about 3rd party products ... there is some amazing stuff that those companies knock out. However, we're sticking to our guns on this. We will not be providing coverage to unlicensed 3rd party products for the foreseeable future. 3rd party products have gotten out of control and there seems to be no end in sight.

It's unfortunate that there is so much 3rd party news that official and licensed Transformers related news gets overlooked because of the onslaught of 3rd party news. It's too bad that so many of you feel like those products are appropriate and that many have justified the 3rd party market because it suits their own desires.

Why don't you guys add a search feature like some of these other websites have? Also I think you may be able to do something with google image search, for example someone takes a picture of a transformers face they have and you use the google image search feature just on this website to make a match. Also with a lot of these searches you see on other websites I don't know why they don't allow you to refine your search by weahter the figure is an Autobot or Decepticon.

We have a search feature in the top right hand corner of the site, in the header, which is a Google search. Is that what you are looking for?

Kind of, if you check out google's image search at http://www.google.com/insidesearch/features/images/searchbyimage.html you can actually subit a pic and if exists anywhere on the web and google has crawled it then it would pop up. This is how you find out if someone is using a fake pic on a facebook profile learned via the TV show Catfish-http://www.mtv.com/shows/catfish/series.jhtml. So if you could somehow create a template for a standard profile face shot of each transformer like you pretty much already have, all someone would have to do to ID one would be to take a mugshot of their transformer and upload it then the image crawler would match it with any identical images. The only problem would be that the image would have to be almost exact which you could assist with by have a standard template for making an almost identical image. I'm sure as the image search features improve over time the image wouldn't need to be as close to an identical match and it could still pick up on possible matches. You would also want to limit your search to only your website so it doesn't pic up on other images leading away from your website which could be totally unrelated. Anyways I hope this gives you something to dabble with and I'm sure this could be somehow incorporated into this site someday.

I take it that Ryan (as the owner) has little say about the rotating ads etc?
Just that they can be very embarrassing in public places. I keep seeing ads for Asian brides and Cougar dating! :lol:

Maybe yout "stats" in should be limited? Something like in original Fallout, you start with all of them at 5 and you rise them thanks to points.

Occasionally we get the odd parent or newbie that, due to them not having the knowledge that the average fans takes for granted, can leave them stumped when IDing certain figures.

While we have a parts ID thread, which works because there's not really a straightforward way to identify parts for Transformers figures; there's no real simple option or guide for the uninitiated to Id figures themselves.

Yes we have the figure database, but with the way it's set up, it's not that easy to track down an unknown figure.

Last night I took a stab at writing a figure ID guide for beginners, based on using the date stamp and tfu.info's search by year function which might fill that void.

I don't know whether or not you guys want to sticky it as it is or use it as a template for a more polished version (heck, I don't even care whether I get credit for it) but I thought it might be something which makes it easier for newer fans, or the parents of child fans to enjoy this hobby as we do.

Since you guys have changed the news crew to a blue mod colour, I really think you should make Burn purple, orange, or red. :P

Just a quick idea. A monthly interview with a prominent member of the boards.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I vaguely recall this having existed in the past, albeit limited to mods iirc. I at least found it quite interesting.

We have indeed implemented this before. Our last one was with alldarker. Unfortunately, the interviews are on hold for right now, since Blurrz left the staff for personal reasons. Va'al's wanting to get back into it, but we're trying to knock out some interviews with fandom stars, James Roberts for example (I think we got him, though), before hitting the regulars.

Also I think a Non-TF Movies Forum would be a good idea, basically people could post threads about upcoming movies (Avengers 2, Interstellar ect.) and not (no offence intended) block up the General Discussion forum

General Discussion is were we go talk about everything. I mean, it'd be weird not to have movie talk in there. :P

I like this idea. Do movies and TV in one forum. Not a bad idea. See, we need more input like this instead of "WHY U NO HAZ (insert question asked and answered one million times)"

Thank you for participating. Seriously.

General Discussion isn't used enough for it to be blocked up.

What he said. There's nobody in there as it is, never mind fears that it'll be 'clogged up' by movie and TV threads, some of which lay dormant for months.

On the drop down sections up top - can you have it so its more concise with the sub forums sprouting from the side as you hover over them?

Examples

Transformers -> News And Rumors
Transformers -> Toys -> Discussion
Feature Forums -> Transtopia -> Customisation
Feature Forums -> RPG -> Custom Autobots
General -> Discussion

You get the idea ;)

Also - I'm not sure how you'd do it, but any way of linking our Seibertron profile to something like Facebook, so commenting on a Facebook newsfeed will post for us on here?

Oh! And can you add a section to our profile settings so each poster can have a default colour they post in?

Sorry for the many, many suggestions. You know I love it here :)
