Not the most promising of first impressions. I'm not sure why there is a need to try and make highly advanced alien robots look more primitive, though I guess they picked a theme and they're going with it.

I will remain optimistic and keep reminding myself how completely anti-Beast Wars I was when it first started before it became a series I truly enjoyed. (til season 3 anyway)

It would be nice to see TF Prime branch off and do something at least semi-original instead of continually riding the 'hey remember this name from G1!' train. Which admittedly the second half of season 2 is kinda almost already doing with the pokemon relic hunting.

The Laserbeak beast mode is pretty damn good! That has to be the best beast mode i've seen in a looooong time. Well at least in that pose and with that angle it looks dead sexy anyways. Won't see it at retail EVER so don't really care.

Sinnertwin has me excited but i wish he was executed better. But he's a cyberverse class fig
(i don't buy cyberverse) so what can ya do. If anything I'm still stoked to see him.

Omega Supreme!....... It's alright. Very passable.

The rest are a wash for me. Once again yet another entire wave of product that Hasbro won't be getting a single dollar from me for.

Doesn't the original Wheeljack have a closed mask?

Well guess I'm going senile.

The Microns that comes with the Arms Micron sets are way bigger than that Ravage and are kits. And have powerlink points. Also, does that Ravage become a weapon? I think it just plugs into his chest.

Something pegs into Soundwave's arm as a weapon. Assumed it was Ravage. Guess I'm going a bit senile too.

Cyberverse: meh
Deluxes: Cool! Doubt Ravage is a weapon. But still, nice to see him.
Voyager Predaking: NO! I'll wait for the leader class.
Year of the Snake Omega and Optimus: WANT!

I'm pretty sure it's his grabby, shooty claw on a string thing.

Speaking of which, these far larger weapons probably go some way towards explaining the recent price hike on deluxes.

Seems like I'll be saving a lot of money this time around, Omega is the only thing I kind of want.

Sinnertwin is Cyberverse? Commander then? Because it looks like he has at least some articulation. Liking the new Soundwave colours and tooling. Ravage is pretty cool too. Wheeljack is a bit strange. Looks like a bit of a stegosaurus. Laserback (?) looks good in alt mode, but not sure on the robot.

Too bad Cyberverse Roadbuster Bulkhead is...well, a Cyberverse. Not too sold on the rest of the wee guys. The vehicle/accessories are looking good. Sky Claw is maybe a tad gaudy though. The Breakdown Apex armour isn't really for me, but am glad they've made it more original than the first two.

Predaking could be really nice. I'd like to see the robot mode first though, before getting too excited. Optimus doesn't do much for me, but that Omega is something nice.

I notice LaserBack and Sinnertwin have a different faction symbol than the one that was revealed yesterday. Early production photos or second beast faction? Or does Predaking get the revealed insignia all to himself?

I'm loving the Sinnertwin figure, but I'm not sure what to think of Predaking.

Predaking is an awesome looking figure, but the name is what bugs me for once. With a name like Predaking, I expect a freaking combiner.

Omega Supreme looks amazing and I can't wait to get it.

What a truly ugly selection of toys that is. Messy, ill-considered designs and remolds and sickening colour schemes. Yuck.
A couple of the existing Prime designs are quite nice, but this next wave is a disaster. Imagine what these are going to look like without the carefully applied Photoshop sheen they have in these pictures.
They look like someone vomited coloured plastic.

Oh, what I'd kill for a couple more Classics right now - at the appropriate size, of course. A Trailbreaker maybe. Or a nice Springer.
Hasbro, please take your plastic dragon and stick it up your arse.

Somewhat excited for Prime (especially the Cyberverse), not so much Kre-O. Also, with 'Beast' Hunters being the new thing, anyone think Airachnid might return?

Omega Supreme alllllmost makes me regret blowing most of my money on Encore Fort Max. Almost. Prime, not so much. I'll wait for eBay, unless they're actually sold separately.

Has anyone noticed the Omega Supreme has retooling to resemble WFC Omega Supreme? I really like it. I hear everyone talking about a Laserbeak but I don't see one

I think they mean LaserBack.

Personally I think Laserback looks atrocious.

Wheeljack - yes
Bumblebee - maybe
Twinstrike - maybe (if there ends up being a deluxe, I'll have that instead)
Laserback - yes (reminds me of G1 Cindersaur)
Soundwave - probably (liking the new deco and remolding, don't really care about Ravage)
Smokescreen - gimme a deluxe and we'll talk, I won't do Cyberverse (Scout/Basic) for a character like that
Platinum Omega Supreme - Yes, but only if he looks anywhere near as good as the photoshopped custom paint job they show him in, otherwise no
Ripclawstrike - Why do you have to be made of Lego Kreo? I would have bought you :(
Voyager Predaking - yes, now show me the bot mode already Mr Scourge err...Bruticus err...Flame Convoy err...whatever, I like dragons, so gimme that :P

frogbat wrote:Never been a fan of beast alt modes since I was a kid... Laser beak and ravage were cool but I was always left scratching my head. Obviously the dinbots were awesome and their g1 introduction had me sold...
And g1 predaking is still close to the top of my must haves... Not to mention the insecticons.. Also beast wars was such a great show...and high moon concocted a decent dinbots origins story..

So any misgivings logic tells me to have, I'm curious to see the new direction prime will take. Also I'd like to see a back story for the organic tf's in prime like airachnid and the insecticons.

I'm just glad there won't be many interesting prime toys so I might somehow find enough for the g1 goodness ie fortress maximus and the masterpieces... Though that predaking intrigues me and they seem to enjoy teasing us with him by not showing the roboto mode.

Honestly, I can relate with what you have just said. Because when I was a kid, I had Shrapnel. And lets say that his joints became loose, the metallic paint started coming off, a part of him broke, and I lost his weapons. That, and the Dinobots were one of the two reasons why I did not like Beast Wars. So when it comes to Beast Hunters, we are on the same page. I am anxious to see how it turns out, even though as we speak, I am uncertain what my 2013 holds.

But with the rest... I am not sure how I feel. I like the new Omega Supreme, and wonder what series he is going to be in. Predaking is interest, but he cannot beat my G1 badboy when it comes the idea of owning him. And also, why does the combination of this and Fort Max make me hope that Takara Tomy reissues the Terrorcons and Gnaw? :-?

So I definitely want the Voyager Predaking! He will look great with my many other beastformers! I will only buy Laserback if he's in the show. The rest are very iffy for me. They're not quite different enough...although I didn't buy PRID BB and this mold does look better. I just don't know yet, but I won't be preordereing. Also, it looks like Ravage fits into Soundwave's chest just like Laserbeak did on the PRID mold. Not sure though.

Loving Bumblebee, Wheeljack and Soundwave. More than that, Omega, and Prime are musts.

Other than that, think Predaking looks interesting, but he reminds me a lot of R.I.D Bruticus for some reason.

I wonder about Omega's head. The original Energon Omega Supreme was a Headmaster, I am curious if this one is too. Where does the spot where Omega's head attaches to end up on the toy when in vehicle mode?

Here's an angle, although I doubt this is what Hasbro's doing: If Shockwave built them, perhaps because he's not actually Primus/VectorS Sigma/Allpark/Dues Machina he can't build the kind of complex lifeforms that he himself is. Surgeons can replace organs in humans, but they can't build an actual human. What if Cybertronian physiology is fundamentally the same?

To quote Arcee and Jack "You turn into a motor cycle, don't you know how to build one?

Your a human Jack, can you build me a small intestine?"

Or, maybe, deep down, Shockwave is really a psychopathic whack-job with a secret passion for monsters.

Shockwave didn't/couldn't have created the Predacons, as they already existed long before the current generation of Cybertronians. The Predacons are like the Cybertron equivalent of dinosaurs, in that they were Cybertron's first ancient race and were said to have been destroyed in a great cataclysm.

How they return, however, will be revealed in the show.
