Quite honestly, I was thinking the same thing. I assume that they are aiming for a more G1-ish head, but I feel that it could be a bit bigger. Besides that, I think that if my finances improve, I might consider seeking out his Japanese Energon counterpart. >:oP
I think the new head is meant to be based on the WFC Omega Supreme game model, like how the new claw is.

As for why it's smaller, maybe they got rid of the Headmaster gimmick and had to make the head small enough to fit underneath the Vehicle Mode and be hidden away in that form

There is that version as well, seeing how that would explain the lack of creepiness expressed with his head, versus the G1 Encore "debut" piece that Takara Tomy put out. ;)

I couldn't agree more

I couldn't agree less. I can really see where Hasbro are going with this. The beasts are something totally new to any kids who got into Transformers between now and Cybertron, and those new ridiculously pointy cars with their big, action-featured accessories are really gonna stand out on shelves for parents and kids. And I'm not into Cyberverse but it seems to be popular with kids and they have a lot of good ideas here (including the Roadbuster Bulkhead which is pure fanbait).

Loving Omega. I just hope that's a hint of a clear orange fold-down facecover I think I'm seeing.

Yeap, it is, as was officially declared on the ppt presentation at NYCC.

I never liked any beastformers other than the Dinobots and Insecticons, so the new Omega is the only thing that has my attention.

Ok, I may take the bait on that Omega Supreme. The colors and retooled parts look really good.

I thought he was cute-ish when I believed it was a basic but learning that it's even tinier than that has made me forgive the poor articulation. I'm going to be all over this stuff if the rest of the terrorcons receive legion figures as well. I'm going to be all over this little fellow in any case.

The only one I am interested in is Omega Supreme. I will buy that as soon as it comes out.

Question about that though. Since it says "year of the snake" on the packaging pic, does that mean it is going to be some super-expensive Japan only release (like the ultimate year of the dragon movie prime)?

I'm willing to bet that we'll see the character show up in deluxe scale at some point. I'm kind of hoping they use this as an excuse to make all the Terrorcons.

It's kind of sad that the Airachnid Legends figure looks 10 times better than the Deluxe version.

hmmm well... I was pretty excited when I first heard about the "Beast Hunters" but after looking at these toys #-o someone didn't do their homework at Hasbro, they should of totally revamped the characters just like Beast Wars did, but all they did was "added things" to the toys... what a rip off! if that's the case they should just sell the additional parts, but all good... I'm pretty sure I will not spend my money on "Beast Hunters" what a joke!

I really like that Omega Supreme, hopefully they keep those colors and head, very nice!

I think I'm jumping ship. It just looks like toddler toys.

The reason animals (ie. dinosaurs and insects) worked well in G1 was because they were mech-dinosaurs and insects. I don't want cartoon-animals... or monster faces on the robot-modes... or superhero head cowls... or Gene Simmons spikes on everything as a complete afterthought. Groan.

Ah well. Generations and Masterpiece will keep me busy, Hasbro. If you want to put out a kiddie-line of monsters and KISS/RoadWarrior mashup vehicles... I'll just sit this one out. =;

If I want spikes on everything, I'll get some Wreck-Gar add ons. :-?

In other words, because they were blocky bricks with barely any details instead of streamlined, smooth-surfaced figures with curved designs and exceptional articulation. >:oP

The G1 Predacons looks way more cutesy and adorable than these. These look more in the vein of the Fuzors and Transmetal 2s (minus the chrome) of the latter Beast Wars toyline and the Jungle Planet figures of the Cybertron toyline.

Funny, I think this is the first time I've ever heard anyone refer to KISS or Mad Max as being "kiddie". :P

Not meaning anything personal. I'm just at a place where I'd prefer a Classics Prowl to a Beast Wars lion Prowl. Mostly just realizing I'm passing the line, and curious to see if other people are in the same place.

You make good points about articulation. I do like the modern advancements in articulation. Mostly ranting about the STYLE. I love a good mech-looking robot... looking at the upcoming FOC Grimlock, he makes a good example of what I get excited about. He's not a believable dino, by any stretch, but still looks like he's robotic in BOTH modes. That's what I meant above.

Still kinda laughing about all the spikes. I thought I'd pulled up the Gwar home page for a minute. LOL.

So do I...but...I'm totally confused. What OS is that? The year of the snake version is blue and red, this one is G1 colors. SO....which one is it?

THIS is the Year of the Snake version. The one we saw before was the Energon toy being used as a placeholder.

Blue and Red is the original Energon colours. The grey/yellow/red is the actual product.

Yeah, I'm planning to spend my money on Omega instead of the 3rd season beastie characters. Good thing, because he might cost the same as a full season of Prime characters. ;)

Yeah, while I like his big ole fist (which seems like the only released photo thus far)... the spaceship mode doesn't float my boat.

Did the first game ever show Omega in alt mode? Haven't finished it. >:oP
