Holy crap its Sinnertwin, never thought in a million years he'd be back. Looks like theres at least one transformer ill be buying next year. All the legions look pretty good actually (except for predaking that is) might just stick to collecting them, well as long as the price doesnt go up. $5 is still a bit of a rip off for em but they're still not overly overpriced like deluxes & commanders. I am interested in that Soundwave but only if the price drops, never will i pay $15 for a deluxe. What is this Transformers legends about? is it a new toyline or just really badass artwork? Trading cards perhaps? But with that aside if hasbro wants this version of the toyline to be successful they better actually ship stuff out and lower the prices otherwise they're going to lose money just like they did this year. The TF sections in the stores here have been empty for months but they still continue to raise the prices even thought theres nothing there to sell.

Indeed :\ The pricing nonsense has gotten out of hand. Yeah, retailers have made it worse, but the $15 price point was straight from Hasbro, and that's bad enough, especially with the smaller size! I've only been collecting the legion figures lately (not that I've bought much), and I'm quite happy with the way Flamewar came out, it's great. Also, GDO Laserbeak was a pleasant surprise.

I'm not a big fan of seeing the toys before the show or movie (or the season, in this case). It keeps me on the fence. The fence is not my favorite place to be. :-(

Energon Love. Awesome Omega and Prime are as good as bought.

The beast hunter Predacons have some interesting concepts, but nothing really pulling me towards them.

Tons of cool new reveals, but not quite as many as I was hoping for.

Who is the bot in the top right of the sound wave slide... Looks a bit megatronish?

The third one looks like sky quake/dreadwing the 4th is unrecognisable

Comparing them point by point to their counterparts from the 2012 lines, they are indeed retools. They are EXTENSIVE retools, but retools nonetheless. The proportions are identical, parts appear to move in the same ways, all the panelings are the same, except now they're covered in spikes and other details and include new headsculpts and new weapons.

Sabrblade wrote:Tons of cool new reveals, but not quite as many as I was hoping for.

Well, comparing with last year's NYCC, it seems about the same. We saw First Edition and RID Wave 1 Deluxe, Commander, and Legion. Deluxe waves 2 and 3, and voyager wave 2 weren't shown off until Cybertron Con and Toy Fair. So I think those events in 2013 are where we can expect to see the next waves of this line. It's not a lot, especially since 3 out of every 4 figures are retools, but New Features (spikes and weaponry) + New Packaging = New Toy for Hasbro, so it's understandable.

Cheers! I scrolled down too fast and didn't see bumblebees slide.. That should've made it obvious... Mmm I mistook a dark grey bumblebee for megs. Well done me.

OMG... What the hell were Hasbro thinking with these? Everything with these Beast Hunters just looks terrible. The spikey armor, weapons that look worse than mech tech and they just look absolutely crap.

When the best toys in the show are two repaints of Energon figs, things are not looking good for the franchise. The best thing about the upcomming releases is that I can save cash on these train wrecks and buy Encore Fortress Maximus. Again, an old G1 brick actually interests me more than the bile that Hasbro is planning to unleash.

Oh yeah, Legion Smokescreen, something I noticed

His legs are nearly identical to Knock Out, suggesting this is a massive retool and re-engineering of Cyberverse Knock Out.

Which means, if we get a Deluxe Smokescreen, with the possibility of having a new mold, we could get an extensive retool and re-engineering of Deluxe Knock Out. Just like Japan. :-?

Well, at least we now know Hasbro is capable of re-engineering their Knock Out toy to accommodate Smokescreen. :D

What the hell have they done to Bumblebee? He looks ridiculous. I hope Hasbro doesn't think this is a valid reason to overfill assortments with him.

A spring-loaded missile-launching crossbow, a grabber claw, a firing disc on a stick, and a spring-loaded gun that don't dig into the plastic limits (because these figures clearly have more plastic than this year's offerings) are worse than the mechtech weapons that didn't lock into place? I'm not seeing your logic.

Some of us actually like that. I expect kids will eat this right up, which is the goal.

As long as they bring back guns with firing projectiles, I'm happy. I'm tired of figures with guns that "shoot" LED lights.

Omega Supreme looked cool but everything else was an epic fail.

Does Hasbro hate deluxe Generation figures?

Why didn't anyone ask about the decline in size of the figures

Why didn't someone ask them what their thoughts are on the rising quality of 3rd party companies who dup their figures and how they plan on competing with that.

How about giving some of the TF fans some direct to video films based off of IDW's recent work?

It's not like we're begging for favors. We'll be giving them "cash" in return.

So depressing....why are they ignoring their oldest and most devoted consumers???

Guess I'll invest more of my spare time and money on video games then.

There is a lot here to like, and a lot I'll be skipping.
I get to be choosey.

Saves me some $$$ for the wash of 3rd party stuff coming out in the near future.

Because we're 10% of their profit. Transformers are aimed at kids before adults, remember that.

YoungPrime wrote:Does Hasbro hate deluxe Generation figures?

They showed us most of the 2013 Generations at SDCC. Kickback, Starscream, Magnus, Sideswipe, Air Raid. Also voyagers Grimlock, Soundwave, Soundblaster, and Blaster. That pushes us through Q1 2013, and we'll find out what's in store for Q2 and beyond at Cybertron Con in January.

Why didn't anyone ask about the decline in size of the figures

Maybe because that's been asked a bajillion times before. Also, these new toys are BIGGER. Because they add significant parts to existing molds and don't seem to scrap anything else in sacrifice, they have notably more plastic.

Why didn't someone ask them what their thoughts are on the rising quality of 3rd party companies who dup their figures and how they plan on competing with that.

Every time someone brings up third parties, they just ignore the question or brush it under the rug.

How about giving some of the TF fans some direct to video films based off of IDW's recent work?

That's expensive and probably wouldn't get a high profit.

It's not like we're begging for favors.

No, that's exactly what you're doing. They're throwing you a bunch of bones and you're being finnicky.
