Bleh, $100 is too expensive for Bruticus, especially once you figure in shipping and markup.

If you're in the US just buy it at Hasbro Toy Store, they will have stock of these more or less straight after SDCC. Not an option for some of us though.

Yep, they always seem to have an ample supply of the SDCC exclusives each year, and I'm certain they're well aware of the demand for the Bruticus set and Zombie Cliff in particular so I expect them to produce a ton of them.

This is true, but for people like me who won't be making it to SD this year, the secondary is gonna be rough. I'll bet it will get up to, if not over, $200..............so it's an easy pass for me. I will gladly pay the $100 for Bruticus (plus the shipping) but not much more than that. So, if I can't snag him from HTS then I'll probably go without.

I agree about the cost not being that much more than $15 (plus tax/gas) when all is said and done. The packaging increases the value as well since it will double as a display case. This justifies the price...at least to me. Now the hunt will be on for him on HTS!

However, the secondary scalping has already started and he hasn't even been released yet. $210!! Are you kidding me?!!!

Bruticus is about $20 more than I hoped for. I'm not happy about having to shell out extra for a ridiculous box that most of us couldn't care less about. Especially considering this is the only way to get the actual in-game deco on these figures. On the plus, Cliffjumper is right around what I was expecting. Not sure I need one. At that price, I'm thinking about it. That Hisstank is too much though. Awesome as it is.

Wow. Well...I guess the prices could be worse. I can't get to SDCC. Will have to rely o hasbrotoyshop.com again. I cannot wait for the site crash and get to talk to 1 of maybe 10 representatives taking orders and keep you on the phone waiting for 50 minutes like last year. By the time I got on the phone the only thing left was the optimus prime. I really wanted the gi joe starscream but it was sold out. Direct I had was nice she called me back 2 weeks later and said that some had been left after they got all the double orders canceled. I had to pay for shipping but I did get the gi joe starstream and was very pleased. I highly doubt hasbro will have their crap together this year either and won't be so lucky to get what I wanted 2 weeks later. I want cliffjumper bruticus and the hiss tank... there is no friggin way. I guess I'll have to pay the scalpers like everybody else. I may get lucky and at least get the
cliffjumper from hasbro toy shop. Good luck to all those who actually have the means to go to sdcc.

They do sell the extras on Hasbrotoyshop.com but that can be a pain in the rear when they go up for sale. Hopefully he is in the same numbers as the Optimus Prime from last year which is still there.

My concern is if they actually have extras to sell after the event, and how many. I tried last year to jump on HTS when the SDCC exclusives were added, but like many was stuck in page loading errors due to heavy traffic. I did manage to get the Optimus Prime in Matrix packaging, but was out of luck on the Starscream/Cobra Commander crossover.

It would be nice if there were ample figures leftover after the event, but I guess that kills the concept of "SDCC exclusive". I will say that I'm looking forward to the Bruticus set, Zombie CJ, and also the Destro/Shockwave set. Hell, if My Little Pony offered a Vehicon crossover instead of Derpy Hooves, I'd be all over it!

SDCC is gonna cost me some money this year, and I'm not even going (sure it would cost me even more if I did).

The problem with Bruticus's price isn't that he's too much more than a normal one. It's just that it painfully sets into perspective how much these toys will cost by fall, and how much you will be paying for designs that aren't particularly strong.

That HISS on the other hand, now that's downright overpriced. I have a normal one and it's a nice toy on the cheap, but by no means is it worth $60.

Cliffjumper is fairly priced, though I'd rather them have lowered it some and not included some dumb-ass box I couldn't give a crap over. For a character that only serves as a publicity stunt I'm not sure he's worth the money to me.

I think all I want is a white Jinx from SDCC this year.

I will most likely get both of these if i can when they are made available on HTS, after the SDCC. As far as price is concerned, I think they are reasonable for show exclusives. I hope its not a HTS server overload when they make them available, but most likely it will be.
We will see how it goes.

$25 for Zombie Cliffy and $20 for each Combaticon isn't too bad, considering normal retail figures are $13 nowadays (and evidently going to be $15! by the time FoC hits).

Still, I think I'll wait and see what happens with the other Bruticus decos first since I'm not too concerned about colors.

Here is a press release from Hasbro regarding their SDCC exclusives and pricing.

HASBRO DELIVERS THE HOTTEST SPECIAL EDITION TOYS AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON, FEATURING TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, MY LITTLE PONY AND MORE

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (June 26, 2012) —In what has become a highly anticipated annual tradition, Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) is coming to Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, with an array of special edition action figures and toys that are set to be some of the hottest items available at the show. This year, the special edition figures are drawn from the lore of some of Hasbro’s most popular brands, as well as eagerly anticipated movies, animated series and video games.

The special edition items will be available at the HasbroToyShop booth (#3329) at Comic-Con International starting on Preview Night, July 11th (while supplies last), as well as in very limited quantities after the show at HasbroToyShop.com. Highlights of the range of special edition toys include a one-of-a-kind chance to own JAR JAR BINKS from the STAR WARS films encased in Carbonite, a huge TRANSFORMERS DECEPTICON ‘Combiner’ figure based on the hotly anticipated video game TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON, a fan-favorite Pony character from the hit Hasbro Studios produced TV series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and even a massive vehicle from MARVEL’s THE AVENGERS franchise!

“The Hasbro brand and design teams greatly enjoy conceptualizing and developing the highly sought after special edition figures for Comic-Con year over year,” said John Frascotti, chief marketing officer, Hasbro. “Each Hasbro item features a fan favorite character or other nod to the most passionate fan bases of our brands and product lines that don’t exist in the more widely available main line. We have a lot of fun developing these toys and are thrilled to be able to provide fans unique expressions of their favorite pop-culture properties.”
