Okay, so I am wayyyyyyy out of the loop. Someone fill me in on what this figure is? Kinda looks like the old Takara MP Prime with trailer. Is there anything different?

This is Hasbro's version of Takara's MP-10. It is a brand new Masterpiece Optimus Prime mold which is smaller than MP-01 and much less die-cast. He does have the Matrix in his chest but no light up gimmick.

And now I know.

Also important to note that ALL Masterpieces going forward are going to be in-scale with MP-10. So far, that's MP Soundwave and MP Sideswipe. I'm not sure about MP-11, the remolded version of MP Starscream, which was also released as MP-11S Sunstorm, and Hasbro's MP Thundercracker.

oh right! I finally got mine yesterday! it's so freakin cool... and a lot of you are right, it looks better in person! I also picked up Generations Wheelie, he's so cool too! even comes with his slingshot! like a little Dennis the menace! haha

Agreed...for $100 it's gonna bother me if I'm not 100% happy with it. I don't think replacing it should be an issue, especially seeing that my local Toys R Us had at least four of Masterpiece Thundercracker on the shelf and I thought he would fly off the shelf too after seeing everyone on the board scrambling to get one before they disappeared, but it looks like as the initial shipments fly off the shelves, these Masterpieces become shelf warmers and shouldn't be too hard to find.

I would think stores will get even more Optimus Prime toys than Thundercracker as he is a more popular character, and seeing as Thundercracker is easy to find I hope I can easily replace my MP-10 before the 30 days is up on my receipt. I'll update this thread if I get a replacement and how it fares out.

I see alot of thundercrackers still. i figured it would go quick. I never managed to get a starscream and had a hell of a time finding skywarp. I may pick TC up cause i guess its a different mold than SS and SW but not pressed right now. between MP prime the first 3 focs, lazerbeak and cliff jumper chinese exlusives and a few other prime figures my tf budget is maxed for the month. Unless I stumble upon the foc combaticons or prime voyager/rid Ultra magnus, im tapped for a minute.

I see alot of people with issues on MP 10. I think the folding ion cannon is a little crappy. one of his stacks is loose and doesnt want to stay up. the same for the radar dish on the blue command module. didnt g1 command module shoot missles? didnt roller spring launch from g1 as well. besides missing those gimmicks and minor/ easily fixed issues, (nothing i can do about the cannon) mine is in great shape.

i havnt handled much so maybe it has issues im not aware of yet but so far i seem to have less to complain about than everyone else. my mp10 is better quality than my 20th anni mp prime imho. 20th is all sorts of loose all over but i still love him just the same.

Called my local TRU and had em look up the item number, 2 were in route last night. Scooped 1 of the 2 up this afternoon, being an Optimus fan, this was a no brainer.
