Just called Times Square tru, just after I said word "transformer", before i even give SKU, the lady just asked: is it Optimus prime? we don't have it.

After looking over the MP-10 I picked up this morning at TRU, I notice a few factory issues and wonder, would you guys go out of your way to exchange with another one if you received MP-10 with these issues:

First pic shows a scratch right out of the box, and second pic shows one of his antennas came a little bent and had an extra piece of plastic I shaved off.





Just wondering if most of you would live with these tiny annoyances or decide that a $100 toy should be perfect and try to find another one to exchange?

Sadly when things are made on an assembly line there tend to be a few... screw ups when it comes to paint defects & excess plastic/residue. If it really bothers you and you can try finding another to swap it with (I seem to recall people saying they did that with MP Rodimus). If it doesn't bother you too much, let it be or take thin layering of paint to it.

Still sucks though.

653569776314 is the number I've been using when calling TRU and as long as you tell them it's the number on the receipt, not the UPC, they'll input it correctly and it will come up.

Thanx! That number worked! But all the stores I called around here do not have it in stock

I can't notice the bend in his head antennas and the scratch is one of those things that once you see it you can't see it.

So true lol .. I didn't even notice the scratch until a good 10min after opening it, and since then , it really bugs me. I'm gonna try to catch the next local shipment and see if I can exchange it then.

Look at this way, if it peeved you enough to take pictures and post them, then getting a replacement would probably be the best thing for you. Personally, it WOULD bug me enough to pursue it.

Agreed...for $100 it's gonna bother me if I'm not 100% happy with it. I don't think replacing it should be an issue, especially seeing that my local Toys R Us had at least four of Masterpiece Thundercracker on the shelf and I thought he would fly off the shelf too after seeing everyone on the board scrambling to get one before they disappeared, but it looks like as the initial shipments fly off the shelves, these Masterpieces become shelf warmers and shouldn't be too hard to find.

I would think stores will get even more Optimus Prime toys than Thundercracker as he is a more popular character, and seeing as Thundercracker is easy to find I hope I can easily replace my MP-10 before the 30 days is up on my receipt. I'll update this thread if I get a replacement and how it fares out.

Scored one this morning. I called my local tru when I was on break, they held it for me until I could pick it up on my lunch hour. They got 2 in, someone else called right after I did and got the other one.
