We all know this year is the thirtieth anniversary of a certain franchise concerning two warring factions of alien robots that are more than meets the eye. Japanese toy magazine Figure King is definitely well aware of that. So what did they do? Thanks to Seibertron.com user Powered Convoy, we have high-resolution scans of the 196th issue of Figure King, which dedicates over thirty pages to the Transformers! The scans are choc-full of Transformers shenanigans, from Generation One to Age of Extinction, and even has some miscellaneous subjects, such as the recently-revealed Optimus Prime transforming pen and a handful of sketches of the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber! The scans have been mirrored from AllSpark.com below for your viewing convenience.

Just a little FYI why is tf prime in the movieverse unless it is a new time line placing tf prime right after the events of the movie and soforth :-? :KREMZEEK:

Are you referring to these pages?

If so, those aren't single timelines. There are five "timelines" listed on these two pages:
  • WORLD LINE G1: Generation 1
  • WORLD LIKE G1: Beast Wars
  • WORLD LINE MICRONE: Micron Trilogy
  • WORLD LINE EX: (I can't make out the subheading for this one since part of it is cut off)
  • WORLD LINE MOVIE: Movie Series
Since the Japanese read pages from right-to-left, the start of each timeline is on the right side of each page, rather than the left.

The Prime Optimus Primes are in the third "World Line", which also contains Animated Optimus, suggesting that this one is not as formal a timeline as the others, grouping together the few oddball series that don't belong in larger timelines for organizational purposes.

Though, as for the three purple texted timelines labeled "GENERATION 1 TIMELINE", "MICRONE TIMELINE", and "MOVIE TIMELINE", these seem to be separate from the other five "World Lines", chronicling the fictional timeline events of the three biggest TF continuities in Japan: G1, the Unicron Trilogy, and the Movies. They appear to be mostly independent from the "World Lines" with the pictures of the leaders.

So, in other words, Prime is not in the movieverse. It's just an unfortunate page setup.

Any idea who the figure is that's a triple changer? It goes from robot, to dragon, to driller? I'm sure it's a beast era figure.

Thanks for clearing the confusion I couldn't tell wat the page was saying. Maybe someone could find a way to translate the images :BANG_HEAD: :HEADHURTS:

Yeah, he's the Predacon Emperor of Destruction whose mouth is permanently incapable of not grimacing like a Ninja Turtle figure. :P

That's just made me even more hungry for Encore/reissue goodness. Screw Masterpiece I can't afford £100+ for a figure these days, just give me a G1 instead.

Seriously are those stock photo's? there is no way that dude has a G1 Scorponok just sitting on his desk at work right?

I don't see why he wouldn't. Lots of folks still have their prized G1 possessions. He might even be the guy who designed the figure.

Anyone know where this is from, and if there's a larger scan?

Knowing Randy, he'll probably get a high res scan of whatever magazine it's from in due time.
