fansproject needs to make the missile pods/shoulderblox for classics/rotf vortex/energon blackout and bruticus from a stronger more durable form of plastic

over time i have also noticed that the side panel flaps on bruticus's left shoulder blox for vortex have actually broken at the bottom corner of each flap with the plug stud hole

i have had toi repair the part with epoxy glue over time and even had to switch the flaps on vortex's shoulder blox with the ones from explorer/blsstoffs shoulder blox over time

it just got to the point that i had to slightly sand down the size of the plug nobs on the sides of vortexs body for them to properly fit the hoels on the missile pod flaps

the new shoulder blox exstensions i made for big brute explorer blastoff and vortex still work all right in combining them with onslaught as bruticus's arms for combiner mode

but hte pods no longer stay in place when i try to attach them to the sides of vortex's helicoptor mode

instead i have had to improvise a male plug/female socket 2 part connector system using parts from classics superion maximus's silverbolts shoulders so that one missile pod can be mounted into place on the back of munitioner/swindles trunk/roof in vehicle mode and the other can be mounted into place on the back of onslaughts extended trailer as well

ieven had to completely replace the ball jointed hip parts from explorer over time with ball socket parts salvaged from energon flat tops shoulders

I don't really have a holy grail because I haven't been searching long and hard for anything in particular, but one of my guys was a "crazy random happenstance" (to steal the quote from Dr. Horrible). I've been to countless antique places and consignment malls over the years and never seen anything Transformers related. On one particular occasion however, when I was marveling over one guys collection of vintage tin toys, spotted G1 Topspin with his gun for $8.

I had a geek attack in the antique mall xD Then spent two days fretting about his safety <.< I was on a road trip and the car was full. Lol. We'd stopped at the antique place to stretch our legs for a bit.

Best. Rest. Stop. Ever.

And in the end, he got to my house safe and sound :3

I recently started a family, so I've had to pare down most of my Transformers collection. I've sold quite a few on eBay. I've gone from literally having a hobby room full of TF's to a single china cabinet. But I don't really mind, the Transformers that I've kept are all ones I really like and I'm using the money I've earned to save for a down payment on a house. :ic$:

My collection is mostly G1-G2 and G1 related stuff, and my grails are mostly foreign Transformers. My grails are:

1.) Botcon Alpha Trion
2.) Transformers 2010 Unicron (Takara)
3.) Monstructor
4.) Road Caesar
5.) Liokaiser
6.) Star Saber
7.) Victory Leo
8.) Dai Atlas
9.) Road Fire
10.) Sonic Bomber
11.) Sky Garry
12.) Roadbuster (complete!)
13.) Nightbeat
14.) Circuit
15.) Windmill
16.) Deftwing
17.) Ironfist
18.) Clench
19.) Skyquake
20.) Shockwave (complete, works)
21.) Deszaras
22.) Bludgeon
23.) Darkwing and Dreadwind
24.) Stalker
25.) Gutcruncher (complete)
26.) Double Punch
27.) Overlord
28.) Trypticon
29.) Scorponok

My Holy Grail changed after I purchased my Fort Max. And again after Overlord. Right now, my grail is the DairyCon Pretender Convoy. http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/dairycon-confirmation-packets-arrive-pretender-convoy-inner-bot-revealed/17998/

I mean, It's obviously Peter Cullen "pretending", with Optimus Prime on the inside. Awesome, exclusive, rare, and deeply meaningful. I want. Someone got one for sale? :D

My 1st place Extra Sacred Holy grail would be either be 2010 Battle Blades Optimus Prime because of his awesome detail work and he's the only movie Optimus Prime figure with a Matrix of Leadership.

My 2nd place ranked grail would be Dropkick because his pickup truck reminds me of my first transformer figure which was G2 Gobot series Motormouth

3rd and in my grail of figures is Classics Deluxe Prime because he's a G1 styled Optimus prime figure.

4th and final holy grail goes to my Cybertron Downshift. I just love both of his forms.

I don't rate my TF holy grails based off price value nor low volume units. because If something I own is worth so much,I'm gonna sell it in a heart beat before the market crashes or before they make a re-issue or better updated version.

My holy grails are based off super poseability, awesome design & proper size scale.

I don't have any G-1 1980's Holy grails because I hate Brick-formers.

Currently my holy grails are as follows: (1)3rd party Hexatron, because it's a super poseable leader sized toy that looks leaps & bounds better than the 1987 sixshot toy. i'll probably get 2 hexatron's & one greatshot. (2)Takara 2010 Unicron, because it's the most 1986 movie accurate in colors. (3)The recent 3rd party leader sized Galvatron toy. (4)MP-09 version 2.0,it's the fixed version,so this is a must get.
(5)I-gear smaller scale MP Megatron, that will be around 8 inches tall in robot height with a regular sized fusion canon.

I think the idea of a Holy Grail is a figure or set that you have always wanted and had not had the opportunity to obtain (whether for price or availability). A wish or want list is stuff that you are certainly going to get
Tidalwavex wrote: i'll probably get 2 hexatron's & one greatshot.
I mean, the Galvatron that is under development and only really surfaced like what? A month ago? What if it sucks? How can that be a Holy Grail?

Is there not a figure that you passed on or refused to drop money on that you really want?

No,I'm not a fan of 1980's brick-formers.

I did list Takara 2010 Unicron as one of my holy grails on my list.

the 3rd party galvatron looks very G-1 styled in both modes & is rumored to be around 23cm/9 inches tall. so based on this info+pics. I know I want it & it's on my list of current holy grails I want. since most 3rd party TF toys take extremly long to get released for purchase, they can be considered holy grails.

needless to say i've been waiting over 2 years for I-Gear to make the smaller scale 8 inch robot mode version of MP Megatron.

Have you ever been obsessed by an idea or a toy? Have you ever found a toy so captivating that you can't get it out of your mind? Have you ever loved a toy? There's a few toys out there I'm like that about and Jetfire is my biggest one. I've wanted one since I first saw them in the booklet that came with Soundwave. I managed to find one in a junk for sale bin in 1992 at the Jessamine Jamboree. I bought it for 10 dollars, but one wing was bent and wanted to get the other one that was with it as well, but didn't have all the money at the time. When I came back with the money it was sold. It didn't have any of the accessories and I've never seen them in person.

I've searched every flea market, every yard sale since then only to have missed out on them or not find them at all. The closest I came to one I could use to fix mine was about ten years ago with the same damage mine had minus the bent wing. One flea market I went to someone was selling their son's old toys he didn't care about anymore and I picked up a G1 Shockwave and Megatron for thirty, still in their boxes, but missing accessories. The woman said to me, "I'm surprise these are selling. I just sold a plane in the box. A white one about an hour ago. These are the last one he had. I just brought them in this morning." You can't imagine how much deep of a cut that was. That was about three years ago.

Just recently I've picked up a Jetfire that was missing his arms off of ebay. The guy that sold it to me was fantastic. I can't thank him enough for what he did, because he sold me a Jetfire that was in good enough shape to help fix mine and within my price range. Now all I have to do is get the accessories.

Trying to get the accessories makes me very nervous. I hate getting them off of Ebay, because it's so stinking expensive. $30 for the leg clips? Really? Oh well, I'll continue moving forward.

Nice idea for a post! Mine has to be G1 Optimus Prime. I remember my mum got him for me in about October and I had to wait until Christmas day to actually open him. She let me play with him in the box prior to Xmas a couple of times as I was so impatient to play with him. I have never finally come to own anything in my life since that day that has meant so much to me, very sad I know!

To the OP, I have a junker Jetfire with some accessories, who too lost his arms over time (a design flaw, I guess). I am very glad to send any parts to you for a nominal fee. I can't stand those guys who split up a perfectly good figure and try to hock various individual bits on Ebay.

The bits I have are

both large rocket booster type things
one arm clip

Then I have Jetfire himself in a sorry state, the plastic parts have yellowed. One arm is missing altogether, and the other one is broken. I guess just sending the red plastic accessories wouldn't cost that much (I am in the UK)

Let me know if you need them :BOT:

You did, and I have to admit, it is my favorite of the iterations of that figure.

The Holy Grail inwhich the term we use to describe our most sought after toy is borrowed, refers to the cup of Christ that was first written about in the 12th century and has been searched for over the past 2000 years. It just seems that a rough 3d print prototype with no hint at final quality that has only been made public in the last month would qualify as a "Holy Grail". I mean, to each his own, but I consider "Holy Grails" items of GREAT importance that have been sought after for LONG periods of time. That's just me.

mine would have to be masterpiece grimlock, which was acquired through a quest. I called multiple toys r useses and found the only one left in stock was in a store 60 minutes away. needless to say was not fazed. until I realized they couldnt hold more than 24 hours, and it was the worst blizzard of the year. We (I was 15 at the time and didnt have a permit) drove for 10 minutes with clear skies, then... TOTAL WHITEOUT... it was a lake effect blizzard from lake michigan. we couldnt turn back so we pushed on ahead. when we reached the mighty fort, the wind was so strong the snow blew sideways. when we got in, I saw the fearsome tyrant lizard king, I retrieved it and decided to check what else they had. turns out the had 2 other grimlocks, I asked about it and after i called to reserve grimlock they checked the back and discovered they had 2 more hiding in the back. and as luck would have it... the storm died down. but such is a day in the life... of sharkdude5...

The next holy grail I'm currently trying to save for is actually a nice MI(S)B G1 Jetfire.

Never had him as a kid but always wanted him, and as there's zero chance of him ever being reissued, I've got no choice but to save up for an original.

I recently obtained a MIB stickers unapplied Grand Maximus. I have been hunting for one in the right condition and the right price since 1996. It took me 15 years to find one and be in a position where I could sell enough doubles, extras and 3rd party products that I no longer wanted in order to afford him. He's mine now after a 15 year hunt ... and I can't wait to do a gallery of him to share with all of you.

Non-Transformers - Full scale wearable movie accurate ROTJ Boba Fett costume. $1500 plus dollars and I still upgrade and change it. But I love wearing it and will be buried in it. :D

Transformers - Fansproject Bruticus, Hercules when finished, G1 Shockwave and Megatron.

Well a grail is very subjective... Especially since I live in Asia, where Takara exclusives are easy to find. However these same items may be considered rare in western parts of the world...

I don't collect G1... so nothing there...

Here's some canidates that might be the grail or grails in my collection:

Buster prime (regular release)
ROTF jetfire (I found it with ease, but seriously, they cost over $250 here now)
2010 Unircron
2010 Primus
2010 Predaking
Encore Devastator
Encore Omega Supreme
Encore Sky Lynx
DOTM Black jetwing
RTS Jazz (I went through alot of trouble finding this guy, when i finally found him, got him at 50% off regular price :KREMZEEK: )
Generations Warparth (Took alot of effort to find too...Then TRU flooded the market with warparths on clearence :-x )

Absolutely brilliant toy, especially for a female transformer (Hasbro often gets them wrong...*Cough*Strika*Cough*)...but damn, did she take a while to find.

I was overjoyed when she finally arrived through the post. So she, with Unicron as a close second, is my (very cute) holy grail.
