Get the Revoltech Dante from Hobbylink Japan. It's around $20-30 with shipping, and it takes a couple of week to get there (It IS Japan, after all), but Go DAMN the figure is made of awesome.
Come with Ebony&Ivory (Duh) Nevan (The Demon Guitar/Scythe) a sawed-off shotgun, Rebellion, a stand for posing some sweet mid-air moves, and a second head. (The regular one has a smirk, the second one has his mouth open, as if going "YEAH!")
It's very awesome. I hope they make Vergil, because that would be totally kick-ass sweet.

That poor defiled Wavebird...
As for the question, I've purchased art books and PVC figures based off games, but I don't go to overboard. One thing I do is really think about elements of a game's story or theme in what non-gamers might call "disturbing" detail. Ex: BioShock. In the game Andrew Ryan promises to punish, read kill, "parasites" that learned to hack Rapture's vending machines. Yet, at the same time, you can discover a wealth of Gene Tonics that can make you a super hacker. That led me to believe that Ryan was saying one thing to maintain the status quo, yet enabling the opposite to a. make cash from the sale of hacking tonics and b. have more "parasites" to crack down on to feed his dictatorial itch. It's also possible hackers homebrewed the tonics themselves, but it's unlikely Ryan wouldn't know about it. See? Too much thought.

Ryan was kind of a nutjob. he had jack in the palm of his hand, he could have said "Would you kindly use all your ammo on yourself?" But instead he decided to force Jack to kill him. What did he accomplish? Everyone hates him, so he wouldn't have ended up a martyr. The splicer's wouldn't and/or couldn't touch him, either because he supplied their plasmids, or because his security was too tight.
Se, now I'm doing it too.
