I don't have a Zune player, but I did find a site with information:
http://www.zune.net/en-US/default.htm

As well as where to pick one up:
http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/wheretobuy.htm

I've looked at the prices, and I have to say, I got my SanDisk Sansa e250 for cheaper, and I'm enjoying it.

Wait what? You don't have to pay to put music on an IPod. You just have to pay for the music. And you don't have to buy the songs through Itunes if you don't want to. You can just as easily buy a CD, rip it and throw them on the player. Same with the Zune.

That would be illegal. And we don't support piracy here.

Doesn't Zune use some inferior system when compared to the iPod?

I could be wrong, but when I was reading up on the two items there was a considerable drawback to the Zune that just made me forget about it.

iPod Classic is still the best bet for your money I think.

I've had nothing but good things to say about the SanDisk MP3 players I've owed, and I payed under $100 for my 2G e250. The only reason I replaced my old player with the Sansa e250 is because SanDisk apparently doesn't make the memory card the old one takes anymore (my old player is OLDER than even the iPods).

Right.

There are other good mp3 players out there. All I'm saying is that for $250 you are getting 80 gigs + video on the iPod Classic.

attack of the show on g4 just had a thing about the new zune. go to http://www.g4.com and look for attack of the show. they said zunes are good but ipods...bassicly if ur lame anti apple/or just really into windows get a zune.. if ur into apple and like mac get an ipod...over all the ipod is just better. also gotta figure in price. ill never get a zune. i love my ipod. the one thing i wish mac would use is zunes share feature. u can download/copy songs from friends play lists. with ipod you can only listen to them.

If you intend to watch videoes/TV episodes/movies on your player, than yeah, I can see why you'd need 80Gs. (And the initial poster seems to be intending to do just that.) Personally, I don't see the attraction of watching shows/movies on a 2-3 inch screen.

You would be surprised just how useful it is...

Not only that, but when you have a massive music library, you need the visual window to see your lists etc.

what websites? in general, downloading ANY sort of games, movies, and music without paying is illegal. it is basically stealing. and itunes doesn't cost that much. .99 cents a song is nothing compared to buying a whole CD. if that's too much, then you shouldn't buy an ipod or a zune. rather, buy a 2 gb Sansa or something for about 70 bucks.

I downloaded it the other night, but haven't popped one of my dvd's in to rip yet... I have a couple friends that love it.

Well, like I said; I haven't used it yet. But last night my buddy told me that you need anyDVD or DVD43 to decode the video files on the DVD disc......

I just picked up a new iPod on Thursday. Got the 80GB Classic and man am I impressed. My old iPod was the 3rd gen 20GB. Major improvements since then. I looked at the others and this was definitely the best buy out of all of them. I've been using Videora to convert my video library. Now I need to go download some stuff from youtube. Time to go get the whole run of TF: animated to this point.

welp, i made the plunge and purchased an 80G iPod classic! it's my first one since the iPod Photo first came out. (besides my shuffle, of course) man, i am impressed. it is seriously a huge jump from the basic, music-only ipod to the god of all MP3 players, lol. now i have to start ripping dvds and loading this sucker up! 8)

(does anyone else's make a "weezing" noise when its connecting and searching?"-nevermind, it's typical)

For everyone looking for a DVD to iPod converter, the best one i've found is called "Ideal DVD to iPod Converter." it's super-simple and all-in-one!
