How many factions will we see in TF Prime?

First, the originals :BOT: and :CON: of course. But in later episodes it's clear it will be more than that. Especially with the treatcherous Starscream and Airachnid.

Well, I do love Starscream very much but he have zero skill to recruit allies. So he'll just be a left out rogue that will act like a dog in a bowling alley from times to times. A shame, really.

Then, we have Mercs. With the Nemesis Prime episode, it's clear they will have their own robot army pretty soon. They are already their own faction and they are about to become a major player in the future.

We also have Airachnid. She is now the queen of a large insecticon nest. In Prime, insecticons are dumb but huge and powerful beasts. Can we call that she will be the founder of the Predacons? :PREDACON:

One thing is sure for certain. The :BOT: better find some more allies soon.

One more faction:

Maybe not in the show, but definitely in its continuity. They've already shown up in one of the novels and will have a big role in the Asian MMO set in the cartoon's universe.

I think it's mostly going to be the Autobots, the Decepticons and the Insecticons lead by Airarchnid. Starscream will probably remain on the outside until he can prove himself worthy to serve under Megatron again. Or if Shockwave appears in the show and starts his own faction.

My thoughts exactly. G2 Cybertronians?

Anyway, as for my thoughts on the factions in this series, I think we'll see three main ones:

:BOT: Obviously enough, along with their human allies (world governments included).

:CON: The main group, led by Megatron. Obviously the "bigger bad" here.

MECH The human (cyborg?) rogue faction. Obviously a serious thorn in the sides of the Autobots and their allies, one they take seriously.

I think Starscream's going to continue to operate as an independent for awhile, especially with his issues. As for Airachnid and her Insecticons, I think they'll be a threat for at least one episode, three at the most, and then the writers will kill the army off (possibly Airachnid as well) and that'll be that.

No, not the Cybertronian Empire.

I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't read it yet, but they're introduced in the Exiles novel. ;) ;)

Looks like a very lame logo.

Also spoiler tags help.

It's very fitting for who they are, as it perfectly expresses their ruthlessness and their theme.

I'm pretty sure we'll see 7 and a half factions in TF Prime.

Actually, I'm not that sure, I just got that number from rolling a die.

How about you reveal who they are in spoiler tags? This way those that don't want to be spoiled don't have to be, but those that would like to know can. :D Personally, i have no interest in reading the novels.

Overquoting to agree.

*sigh*

Oh, fine. They are the Star Seekers, a band of space pirates who hold an as-of-yet unclarified grudge-like hatred of Cybertronians.

And according to the website of the Chinese Transformers: Online MMO, they're gonna recruit robots from another planet that turn into animals to aid in their hunt for Cybertronains in that game.

Hell YEAH!

TF Prime is a mix of Animated and the Movieverse. If :MAXIMAL: and :PREDACON: are added into the mix, I'm going to nerdgasm hard!

It's more than a mix of just those two. Having experienced the cartoons, games, comics, and novels, this whole continuity takes elements from G1 (Sunbow, Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW), BW, BM, Armada, Cybertron, Movieverse, Animated, and even Fun Pub's BotCon/Club fiction. 8)

Though, I've yet to see anything that strictly hails from either RiD or Energon yet.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that we will soon see Silas return as a Headmaster for MECH's Nemesis Prime unit?

The return of the Headmasters. That would be so awesome! Animated kinda put in everything and more. Prime is on it's way for that too! Now, if only the Dinobots would make a glorious return... They would be the perfect opponents against the Insecticons.

Making Silas a Headmaster is a logical step, I think.
We know that MECH is going to "rebuild" him with cybernetics etc. And we also know that the Nemesis Prime unit was hampered by its cumbersome interface. Both of these facts can lead towards Headmasters - a cybernetic body for Silas, plus a better interface with the Nemesis Prime unit. Double win!

I agree on the Dinobots vs. Insecticons. That would be awesome.
I would've also loved to see the Wreckers go up against the Insecticons, but since - as per Wheeljack - there aren't that many Wreckers left anymore, I don't think this'll happen.

Or maybe they'll pull an Autobot Spike and put his mind in a robotic body instead.

Depends on how well they pull off either.

Well, looks like Airachnid and her Insecticons did not last long.

Sigh...

I'm glad Airachnid's incapacitated. I don't like the character at all and I don't think she should have any power.

The article on new product reveals says we're getting Thundertron, from the pirate faction Star Seekers in Exiles. Perhaps thats a clue?
