How many figures do you need to complete your set(s)?

I got to thinking about this and created a list a few weeks back after reading this thread and have been meaning to post this for a while (sorry if it is doubling up, just felt this needed a separate thread).

The main sets I'm working on atm are my "Neo" Classics and MP. MP is not something I look at having an end right now because we have no idea of what Takara plan with it. Classics on the other hand has (for me) a very definite end, so I decided to see just how close I was to it.

The original plan was to collect all the cartoon related characters from the first four years of the toy line but after signing up to this wonderful site I have let a bit of "Aligned flavour" slip in. The "Aligned flavour" so far consists of two sub-groups, Wreckers and Star Seekers (official Star Seeker toy releases in the future could increase the final number).

After compiling the list I went through it and marked all the toys I already have and then added everything up. The result floored me to say the least

The current total of my finished set stands at: 186

The current total of my set as it stand right now: 83 #-o

Guess I have a little way to go before I'm finished :D

So, how close are you to completing your set?

I don't think in "sets", more like in "groups" within a single toy line. That said, there are a couple near complete in my collection that are noteworthy:

Beast Wars II
Cybertrons: 3 (Lio Convoy, Ikard, Diver)
Insectrons: 3 (Powerhug, Scissor Boy, Drill Nuts)
Destrons: 3 (Starscream & BB, Galvatron, God Neptune)
Autoroller: 1 (Autocrusher)
Cyborg Beasts: all 5 needed

Only 15 more for that line

Beast Wars Neo
Big Convoy Unit: 2 (Big Convoy, Heinlad)
Cybertron Warriors: 3 (Survive, Razorbeast, Bump)
Magamtron Unit: 4 (Magmatron, Saberback, Sling, Archadis)
Destron Army: 3 (Crazybolt, Bazooka, Killer Punch)
Blentrons: 1 (Elphaorpha)

13 to go for that one

Robot Masters
Cybertron Leaders: 2 (G1 Convoy, Beast Convoy)

I only have 3 of the 13 Destrons in that line: Double Face (Sideways), Pyscho Orb, and X-Gunner.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

At this point, I want my collection to have a representation of all of the characters in the US G1 cartoon. I have most of the characters I want, but as the Generations line continues I keep needing to buy more. I never really sat down and made a checklist so I don't know exactly. I do know that Hasbro hasn't done them all though.
Check out my collection!

Weapon: Twin Sonic Cannons
I've stopped thinking about "Groups" and "Sets" and "Lines" and instead I look at things as a whole. There are some figures I'd like to get to round out Thundertron's group of pirates, and then there's the Predacons who will have their own little shelf somewhere. Finally there's the Autobots and Decepticons. While I focus on characters from the G1 lines, I also get figures who just look cool and add something extra to them.

Everything's a work in progress and I have no idea when it'll end.

I agree with it being a Giant work in progress, but sometimes I wonder if we have too many cooks in the kitchen over there.

I've read through these and I'd honestly just like Hasbro to just finish a line honestly. That would be great. I love all these lines, (QC keeps me from getting them all though) its just like there is little focus in any one area. Like a dartboard is honestly making a lot of decisions for what is released over the course of the year.

They have a lot of decent ideas, and they dangle them out there, but then oh look something shiny, let’s go with something new after only a teaser. G1, tons of characters a few seasons and Hasbro even admitted their biggest mistake was killing off the main cast. Ehhh, whatever. A decision was made and they ran with it. Here we are in TF prime’s third season and they hinted how it could be the end. After 3 seasons we have like what 12 autobots if that? I think we had that many after 3 episodes of G1. And they have done a good job with it, just seems to be….. not finished. Seems like less than a handful of seasons and we have to reset. I guess timing plays a big role here as it will end about the time the 4th movie gears up, and leads to who knows what.

Classics line – A few awesome characters (06), then a movie interruption (07), then well siphon a few more out under United line, then stop for another movie or two with a little crossing over in-between and we are still sitting here with tidbits in this area.

WFC = 5 characters, continued (sorta) into F.O.C. with another dozen or more pending how you classify some of the on the fence classics, Generations, United/WFC & FOC line.

Movieverse = lots of characters with a possible 3 more in the works. Still, some characters that will never see released. (cough, cough, constructicons, Non cyberverse Dreads, cough)

It’s kind of laughable that the Kreons barely a year old could honestly be the first ones to finish what they have started.

I do love transformers, it just seems all over the place is all I'm saying. MAXIMIZE PROFFITS :HEADHURTS:
New pics added as I find time.
