I was going to suggest basing the design on legends Megatron but that works as well.

I, and others, have transformed him numerous times with no trouble.

He's one of my favourite toys to Transform and fiddle with, at first I was scared to transform him too often in case he loosens up too much and wouldn't' display well anymore, but then I remembered the second one that was accidentally shipped to me.

I love him, but man I would be a lying lire if I said I wouldn't' want a better one.

You got 2 for the price of one? OMG!

That reminds me of the guy on ebay who accidentally posted a Hasbro masterpiece starscream on ebay for $1 when he meant $100. He went to revise it and found out it was too late when ebay told him that he'd sold it to me! LOL! After shipping, I paid a total of $11.

Talk about an angry seller! :KREMZEEK:

you know, even if his Cybertronian alt mode looked like this:

As long as he turned out looking something like this:

I think most collectors could live with that.

The problem with not only Megatron, but a lot more G1 characters seems to be bot mode limb girth. Try to imagine ways that G1 Bumblebee's limbs could compact into his tiny alt mode and you'll get the idea.

Megatron's legs are very thick. They transform from his alt mode's handle, which looks to me like it's actually thinner than even one of Meg's legs. This is the primary problem with MP Megatron's leg thickness.

The only solution I see would be to compromise. Make the gun mode's handle a bit thicker, and try giving the ability to extend Meg's shin thickness. Maybe stuff some more gun mode bits in there to offset the sudden hollowness his legs would have.

Who thinks if would be cool if Megatron's cannon could transform to a more compact form?

If you believe Tcracker from TFW to be (or at least previously was) a legit insider, he has said in the past that Hegemon looks to have taken some cues from the upcoming MP Megs v2 mold... whether those cues were lifted or coincidental, I don't know.

I've thought that the barrel of the canon could telescope to be longer or shorter. In my opinion, none of the toys canon length has been right.

How would they have taken some design cues from something that is most likely still in the planning stages? I thinking coincidence but then I tend to not assume direct theft of a Takara design unless iGear is involved. >:oP

By someone having access to the prototype/design plans...either a Takara employee, former employee, or has a connection to either one of those. I'm not saying that's actually the case, I don't know, but that's how it would be done. If I recall, that's kinda where the thread was going, but you know how the internet works. An 'insider' says one thing, and of course that info has a certain degree of vagueness to it, then the crazy internet 'facts' begin to take shape.

But the only worthwhile thing I take away from that is the new MP Megs supposedly looks to have some similarities in design to Hegemon...that it's more similar to that than it is MP-05. But I bolded the key word above...this is all 'he tell me' info after all.

Yes, I agreed we need a new Meggy V2. Since he developed cosmic rust, I'm afraid to transform til this day, ehhe. Beside the huge gun barrel which he can't hold, I don't like MP5 design from the waist down. For some reasons, MP5 tends to sway in one way when you make him stand so I have to adjust him.

As for Hegemon, although the overall is good, my biggest beef with him are:
1, the huge gun trigger locates at his back body. MP5 does it better by hiding inside each leg.
2, I don't know what it is but the black lower leg looks kind of strange. Not sure if it's too blocky, or the fact you don't see the knee joint as a separation from the upper thigh.
3, I also the don't like the huge attached waist kibble panels.

For MP Meggy V2, my wishlist:
1. I agreed with the folks that said concentrate on the robot mode first then compromise the alt.mode. Besides, most people display their TFs in robot mode most of the time.
2. Find way to make the gun barrel/telescope smaller, or has an adjustable in length. Also, make that section light weight so he can actually hold it.
3. Beef up his leg damn it. Also, give him some real feet!
The rest I can live with it.

It would be great if their will be come a new MP Megatron mold, because the MP Megatron which exist at the moment suck hard, not just because the rust but also the arms and legs aren't that good, and it will be great if a new MP Megatron looks a little bit like the Toyworld Hegemon, because this one looks really great even it's just a third party product. :-?

This is exactly what I was thinking. They could turn Megatron's alt mode into a cannon. It would still be really cool, and it wouldn't compromise his robot mode. Plus if he isn't a gun there wouldn't be any need for an orange cap.

I just want a Megatron that looks like he can pose a threat to Optimus Prime. MP-05's narrow arms a stick legs made him look frail when standing beside MP-01. And with all the other recent releases trying to focus on cartoon accuracy, I really hope Megatron follows suit.

I display all my MP's in robot mode, so personally, I wouldn't mind some sacrifice to the gun mode to make sure the robot mode is as good as possible.

One thing Has/Tak could do for extra gimmick is to make his helmet removable and include a black comic accurate helmet for fans of the comic.

Just a thought.

Edit* And fix the bal joints on his hips and shoulders. I can touch the figure without them popping off. I always end up taking them off when I transform it and reattach them when I'm done.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong though- I love the figure. He looks awesome in alt mode, as well. I think, like a previous post made, they should concentrate on the bot mode more on the next one, granted they do one. I got this one for my gun mode to display......make an awesome bot mode to stand next to it......please, of course.....
