This is the one Transformer I would have never guessed they'd reissue! Great news. I have no regrets about buying the original 2 years back but I will def. buy this one too.

Here's hoping they also reissue Grand Max! I really hope this is not some fake April fools joke. I would be Max'd out!

You put G1 Fort Max ahead of G1 Jetfire? No matter how much of a chance other G1 toys have of getting reissues, that one will never EVER get an official reissue.

I wonder if the Fort Max will have a similar box to the original, with the foam insert and the design art on the outside.

Wow, Fort Max, really? That's quite a shock. Cool for those that want it!

So MP-15 is Ravage & Rumble. Okay... why the Prime silhouette in the teaser then? Lame, Takara, lame. Not that I'm complaining they're getting released, I just figured they wouldn't be the next numbered release.

Remember the MP15 picture was not from Takara, but from 4chan.
So unless it's an official tease, we should be ashamed for getting so excited.

PO'd MP15, still thinking about Fort Max.

Of course G1 Jetfire would never get a reissue, he was never a diaclone figure to begin with, just a repaint of a Macross figure, and there's plenty of those out there.

The MP-15 teaser came from an undisclosed magazine and someone posted it on 4chan. That was my take on it anyway. Things change from concept to reality, Red Alert was originally being billed as MP-12A, now he's MP-14.

Hmm...I'm a little concerned that sellers are going to start swapping out pieces of the G1 Fortress Maximus with the remake and screw people over. Hopefully, these swap outs will be easy to identify.

Fortress Maximus has been pre-ordered so hard! Ooo and the cassettes too. Kinda pricey for their size though. Hoping they dip a bit on cost.

Holy Mother of God! Fortress Maximus! Where will I find that $349? Goodbye thoughts of Wii U, maybe autumn 2013. I had Fortress Maximus when I was a kid, but I sold it to buy my first car. Well, not just Fort max, but all my Transformers, G.I. Joe, LEGO, et cetera. I wish I held on to Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, and Sky Lynx. But I did get a car, then a job, then a Turbo Grafx-16, and later a Super NES.

So I guess I traded Fort Max for greater independence, but in hindsight I really didn't need a V-8.. a 4 cylinder would have done me fine...

TomyTakara will most probably change Encore Fortmax's screws with rivets. So don't worry about substitutions. Same thing with the Encore Convoys, you can tell the difference from the year 2000 issues over the ones before. First is the mold degradation on his left back , just right of his shoulder and the different front wheel axles.

And of course the new copyright embossed differently.

On another issue, I'm again noticing a trend among our "jaded" collectors.

What would you expect for the design and price? Hence Encore ....re-issue of a late 80's designed figure. Expect it to be blocky with limited points of articulation reflective of the technology of those bygone days. And the price? Don't you guys have a sense on the logistics needed to restore the molds, packaging and transportation cost? And of course, the bottom line Tomy will reap from this endeavor? Toymaking is a BUSINESS for profit and not charity >:oP

Iirc, Fortmax more or less broke even for both Hasbro and Takara waaaaaaay back in 1987 given the size of that bruiser so the present SRP of US$ 350 + is quite justifiable (factor in inflation/deflation)

Also....

Who the heck is going to buy an Encore for $350+ just to switch out parts on an original Fort Max, then sell it????

Preordered Fort Max and the cassettes!! I'm glad I got til April of next year on this. Been dying to have him since I was little. And with Hasbro jacking everything up, it will make it easier for me to save money....sweet :KREMZEEK:

:KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: So excited I could wet myself. =P~

But I won't. Got my pre-order in, and like others, I'm glad it's not until April so I have time to put away a little each month. I've always wanted a Fort Max, and now I can get a complete one that's not hideously expensive like the usual $2500 I see on eBay.

Praise Primus and the toy gods that this came about.

Now, Takara.....how about the Dino-cassettes? :ic$:

You know you're excited when you can't even spell right...

Also, I finally broke down and changed my mind. I put in a preorder for the big guy. I even had to make a new account for BBTS. Never used them before. Now, hopefully Grand Max will be reissued down the line, so the trio can be completed. (Already got my Brave Max.)

Son of a bitch!!! I've spent the last year piecing together an original Fort Max and now I wake up to this news. I'm at a point where I am almost finished and selling now wouldn't be worth it nor would it be worthwhile to buy the encore while having a nearly complete original sitting at home.

I'll cancel any plans to buy Grand Maximus or Brave Maximus on the chance that they come out soon too.

I am torn getting Fort Max. He would be the holy grail of my collection but where to put him? He's enormous. Curious how much he is in Japan.

My guess would be a clamshell packaging like they did for Unicron.

MP Cassettes seem overly priced.

This is probably a dangerous thing to admit here of all places, but I don't collect G1 figures. There's just too many and I'm too poor, and I feel if I'm going to collect something I should do a proper job of it.

Then again this is Fortress Maximus.

Pre-ordered. :D

If cretins CAN substitute Generations Wheeljack for FOC Jazz and the like, smart money is some unscrupulous vendor will also attempt this stunt. I remember a few years back when some jerks repainted a couple of Godginrai's black and sold 'em as limited pieces?

Btw, I am NOT fanboying, pimping this latest release............I am just full of HAPPINESS and Sunshine that Tomy will allow other fans to OWN one.
('cause I already own one)
