Be interesting to see if Bay makes another statement in a day or so.

You crybabies still upset about michael bay? Time to let it go. You could all be reading a book right now.

I like you. Others won't though. But I like you. You and I? We can laugh at them together. Image

Can I join you?

If the first Bay directed Transformers movie was the only Bay directed Transformers movie then I'd agree with you to. But there has been two more since then with another on the way. So long as he keeps making them then 'haters' will have as much reason to complain about them as 'lovers' will have as much reason to praise them

I hate Will Ferrell and do you know what I do? I don't see his movies. I don't spend my time annoying people on Will Ferrell forums every time I hear his name mentioned. I spend my time doing things I enjoy, not bringing others down by shoving my hate filled opinion down their throats. I guess expecting the same courtesy here is too much to ask.

But this isn't a Transformers Movie forum, it's a forum for all things Transformers. It's not as though the people that dislike Bayformers are coming here just to whine about how much they don't like Bayformers. Bayformers news gets thrown their way along with everything else. Now, people are entitled to their opinions, and are entitled to speak their opinions. I think we can agree on that. I also agree, however, that hearing a bunch of whining and complaining every time Bayformer news gets posted is old. Of course, I could say the same for people that complain about Prime when Prime news is posted, or who hate on Animated, or bash the Unicron Trilogy, or the Beast Era, or whatever. So, where do you draw the line between "you have the right to voice an opinion" and "you should stay out of this if you don't like it"?

For starters ... it's a sub-forum dedicated to the movies, so close enough.

And we've had those people over the years. They sign up specifically to discuss the movies. They don't join in any other discussions outside of the movie sub-forum, and most of the time what they discuss is just negativity, and it's the same thing over and over again.

It's life though ... if you're positive, you tend to not make a big deal out of it. But if it's something you dislike, people will get up on their soapbox and holler and holler and holler until they're blue in the face and keep on going.

You really should have been here 4-5 years ago. You would have loved some of the "discussions".

I'm only here because this was front page news. I never even stopped to notice what subforum the topic was posted in. ^^;

Don't let my join date fool you, I've lurked here and there and everywhere since about 2005 so I caught bits of the discussion and the hate and all that.

It's not a big deal to me. Very chic of Hugo to renounce these roles. Time after time we hear of actors/actresses as I say, renounce there superhero/summer movie roles. Guess Elrond is in the clear with Hugo even though he could be classified as a-same-type-of-role. I mean, these roles all have Halloween masks.

I'm gonna annoy a lot of people here, but I thought the live-action movies were the best thing that's ever happened to Transformers.

It's a great shame he probably won't return to voice Megatron. He was my personal favourite voice for ol' Megs. If they decide to return Megatron as Galvatron, then I would love to see either Frank Whelker or David Kaye voicing him.

You're right, they were.

Regardless of their actual quality, they were massive hits, all three, and proved that Transformers and boys toys/properties were a legit property.

The problem is, this fandom is one of the more selfish groups of people I've seen in a long time. They're so wrapped up in themselves that they can't see the forest for the trees. They focus only on how they were "wronged", how Bay ruined their childhoods, etc.

They barely, if ever, can at least admit that the films doing well brought some major clout Hasbro's way, which in turn has helped us.

I like the movies, I don't think they're perfect, and I do believe they saved Transformers as a whole.

People can dislike the movies, but they should at least respect and recognize the positive impacts they've brought us.

I agree with all of this, actually. The movies brought the franchise to a level of popularity it hadn't had in years, and the complexity of the movie designs forced the toy engineering to rocket forward. ROTF Optimus Prime is still one of my favorite TFs ever.

And I do dislike the movies. As movies, they're kind of awful. I don't like the excessive body humor and I don't like the way the 'bots are treated as background characters. Sam was annoying and I really started to dislike him after a while. But as I said above, I recognize what the films did for the franchise, and they served as a partial inspiration for the Prime designs, which I love.

If only more fans had your opinion. I don't care if people dislike the movies, even though I do like 'em, just as long as there's respect for what they've done, I'm good.

The movies are just like the Gangnam Style music video - incomprehensible, repetitive, overly-long, puerile, sexually questionable, over-reliant on slow motion and most likely directed by a reprehensible douchebag.

Having said that, I can't help but get drawn into watching it, and other artists on that label will be getting all kinds of opportunities because of how much money has been made.

For what it's worth, Gangnam Style is a parody of the lifestyle that residents of the Gangnam district supposedly enjoy. Of course, throw in the language barrier and the rest of the world just sees pudgy Korean guy doing weird things, but it's not like anybody expected it to become the #1 song in the world. Michael Bay's movies lack that extra layer of satire and instead are just straight offensive to the mind and the five senses, yet somehow enjoyable.

I would love to audition for Blaster and Grimlock for Michael Bay's Transformers 4. I'd also like to seize the opportunity to be the NEW voice of Megatron. I laugh like Gargamel, plot like Freddy, as aloof like Scooby and play the lead boss as if I were Mr. Spacely.

I'm in, I'm all in.

Yes, but it's the people who don't like the movies telling the people who do "Stop it! You're wrong!"
