Hunt idea

My idea, since RoS expressed concern about the most active people being likely to win, is to break it into brackets. So, level 0s are competeting against 0s, 1s against 1s, 2s against 2s and so forth. That doesn't mean taking someone down from another level doesn't count. To the contrary, they either count for more or less. Each bracket will produce a winner, so there's the possibility of a prize for each level. Right now, I'm thinking energon prizes, heavily weighted to the lower ends of the bracket, because the higher you go, the less likely you are to need the energon. That gives us 6 bracket winners. Over all hunt winner will be by highest score. I think the most effective scoring system is the old "lower level kills are worth less than your level kills are worth less than higher level kills." Typically, it's a 1-2-3 scoring system, but a 1-3-5 might be a little more fair, as some of us are still going to kill a crap load of lower level guys. Especially RoS and N_V. The person with the most points wins.

So, if a 2 takes down a 3, they get 5 points. If a 5 takes down a 4, they get 1 point, and if a 3 takes down a 3, they get 3 points. 5's obviously can't get the higher level points, but they can offset that by simply killing more, any 0s can't score below 3, but they offset that by being really easy kills.

And with the brackets, even if the usual suspects wins overall, a lower level player gets bragging rights for being the best at their level.

I'm game. now let me see if i got it straight. lets say its 2 level 4's vs a 5. if the 5 wins he can score 2 points or which ever level 4 performs the killing blow gets 5 points. thats a little harsh but whatever

I'm always a fan of wins-loses=total just for easy score keeping

It's harsh for the higher people, but we play more than most others. In simple kill count, it'll more than likely be RoS for the bots, simply because he plays more, and likely you for the cons, for the same reason. By adjusting the score, it makes it possibly for a level 1 or 2 to win, based on points. Likely RoS will still have the most kills though.

Like I've stated, math confuses the hell out of me.

I'm game no matter what though.

Are going to have a sign up sheet, or are specific commanders worth more? (ex RoS and N_V being 7 points and a level 5 is worth the normal value?)

Don't want confusion, just suggesting.

Also, if there's enough people, could the players CHOOSE a specific target and get bonuses for that, and if they get killed by said target lose so many points?

So, to make it simple:
Higher level: 5 point
Lower Level: 1 point
Even: 1 point???

Yes, signup on the thread in HMW:GD. Was planning to use this to discuss the mechanics or something.

Hmmm... Sounds interesting; I'd definitely like to get in on this too! My team members have killed level 5's before... But I'm counting more on quantity of kills than on quality of kills!

hehe. actually might be able to make 2 6's. i could make mongrol one now, but i don't wanna reinstall armor. so it looks like 6-ish days till he's there too

Current count is 3 bots interested and 5 cons. Either there's not enough active people on the boards, or not enough people think it's a good idea it looks like.

Well, we haven't tried everything to attract attention... this game needs moar life... I miss the good ol' days.

How about someone doing the bulletins for the bots and cons on the HMW front page about this, see if we get any attention?

I'm curious, what is the current situation for those bulletins?

And on topic, i'll make my decision by tonight if i'll join in on this. I would like to, it's just a matter of my attention span for it.
