Is Interstate 10 still flooded in parts, or is it safe to travel on it in LA and MS?

I have to check as the house we are staying has electricity but no cable TV.. My wifi is good, just not good enough for streaming vid right now so watching online news is a chore..

Day 5 and my house is still without power.

Elderly folks on my block are sleeping on their front porches..
People are getting angry from being in the heat..

All this from a measly very slow moving cat 1 storm.. Incredible..

Yeah, that seems ridiculous. I would have thought Katrina taught the local and state governments a lesson down there about being prepared. I hope things improve for you and your neighbors.

Take care CB, I have distant family in Albany. My dad is from New Orleans. I guess there a reason why people hate utilities and government.

Oh yeah, in my town we dealt with the remnants of Isaac for a last couple of days. It is just slow rain storm now.

I live in Brandon, Mississippi. All I got from Isaac was...rain (but no power outages at all!).
