I'm really loving the BBTS POL shipping savings but are we making a huge mistake?

I'm loving the BBTS POL shipping savings but I just came across a scary thought. Because I'm waiting to the last minute to ship and I didn't pay all the extra $$ for collectors grade, when items sell out and I finally ship, doesn't that guarantee me a box of leftover rejects?... It might not be worth using the POL option if one isn't springing the extra loot for collectors grade on each item. Now I'm torn between waiting or pulling the trigger on shipping. I mean I want my items like last week but with all the money I spend on this hobby every dollar counts. Grrr...

Did you get a choice of grade when you originally ordered? Have any grades changed from Collector to Standard etc?

P.s. I've never ordered from them before.

I use TFSource, but their Order Stacking system seems to be the same. I never pay extra for the mint box, because honestly, even the packaging that I do keep tends to go into a box or cupboard somewhere. If you're buying to keep these sealed, it might be better to pay the extra, but I can't think of having received any packaging with any noticeable problems, and the toys inside are my priority.

I actually thought the "huge mistake" you were going to talk about is the propensity to go "oh yeah, just add that now, I'll pay for it later" and then having tons of stuff that ends up being really expensive. I did have a huge cost of items in my stack and had to resist adding any more until I shipped and paid for my last lot, for fear of ending up with too much that I couldn't afford to pay for.

I've been using BBTS for almost 5 years now, and never once did I feel I was getting "a box of rejects." In that time I've had 3 mistakes I've had to contact them about, and they all had to do with vintage figures and someone not completing proper QA on them. That's not bad really.

It's fine, don't worry about it.

I've been a BBTS customer since 2006, myself, and I have never had any issue with them that wasn't my own fault. I have never ordered a collector's upgraded package, and yet all my packages have come in great shape. I wouldn't fret over this thought. These guys , in all my time in dealing with them, have been awesome.

On another note, Robotkingdom has been awesome to me too. I had one issue with something that came in (not of their fault, mind you), and these guys sent me a replacement without even asking for the original order back, so I would suggest them too.....

OK guys, your history with this possible issue has put me at somewhat ease but do you guys rack up your POL like this? It's in these cases that I fear the worst not purchasing and shipping item to item.

I always let my POL build up until the order to be shipped is pretty huge. In fact, the last on I shipped had to come in 2 separate, massive boxes. I've not once had an issue with a new figure from them that was due to this. The one time I did have an issue was with Perfect Effect's Reflector, but it was because the factory had boxed up 2 duplicate bots instead of the 3rd, correct bot. I contacted BBTS, told them what had happened/which bot was missing and they immediately shipped me out a replacement bot of the one I was missing, not even asking for the extra/duplicate bot I'd received originally, so now I have a spare little bot in addition to the 3 correct ones :).

They're good guys and I've never had a problem with stacking up my POL. I don't ship it frequently, usually only a couple times a year once it gets real big.

Count me in as another who's never had a problem with them. Great products, great service too.

unless there's something I'm really eager to get my hands on right away I tend to let my TFSource stack get up over $150 to make use of the reduced shipping at that price. Not too difficult to do that with a few Third Party items.

Hehe, I'm terrible about it. I let my POL stack up to over $1000 most of the time before shipping it.

I always let my POL build without any issues. strange though since I shipped my latest order from BBTS on 4/3/13 nothing on my preorder has hit my POL!! =/

question for people who got Fort Max and put it with their pol to ship. any chance the way they ship Fort Max will crush your other boxes in the same shipment? I know BBTS puts a huge sheet of bubble wrap and all the boxes stacked together inside is that save with Fort Max and lets say MMC's seekers? Thinking about ordering Fort Max once something hits my POL

Just got my POL in today and have some "rejects" for the first time ever. Alternity Gold Bug was C8 when I ordered. A massively beat up C6 or worse arrived. Masterpiece MP-9B had the bottom seal opened. A lame re-tape was attempted, but that didn't hold. The contents seam fine. Bubble wrap was used at the top and bottom of the shipping box, but the items were not very secure inside the bubble shell. Would be nice if each item was wrapped up. This was a $500 purchase if anyone cares. I'm still a fan of BBTS and the POL. But there's a danger to waiting too long or ordering too much stuff I think.

you got a fluke then... i do my pol $3000 every other month... never had an issue with anything... and if there is ever an issue Joel and his staff will make it right... i have been a loyal customer to them since 2001 when they first arrived, ive spent well over $150,000 with them over that time

Don't think I've ever had more than $300 in my POL before, but I usually leave it sit for 3-5 months before shipping. Never had a problem with anything I've ordered from them.

@Vegitron - only thing I can think of with an broken seal is someone might have decided to return him. Whether it was cracked open by the person who purchased it or BBTS to make sure it wasn't a toy swap after it was returned, who knows, but one can't expect BBTS to not sell it just because the seal is broken, especially if it's in otherwise new condition.

The condition of the items you received may have nothing to do with how long they were in your POL. They may have been like BEFORE they reached your POL, or may have been damaged during packing/shipping/delivery. I'm not saying it's not BBTS's fault, just that it may not have anything to do with how long they were in your POL.

All valid points. This was probably just a one-off type of thing as I haven't had issues before.
